Atari didn't pay much attention to Escar's voice until she started the 'kitty kitty kitty's. His ears shifted slightly to listen to her calls, and a silly smile grew over his face and he let the little bird go, perking up from behind the bushes. Kitty? Where! he laughed before diving back through the bushes, the thorns of the roses not bothering his pale lavender skin at all.

Escar blinked, looking over to where he'd spoken from. "...Talking kitty?" She stood back up and shook her head. "Silly of me...cat's can't talk..." She brushed bangs out of her face. "Okay, who's there?" She asked, waling over to spot and peering into the rose bush.

Atari crawled out from beneath the bushes, pausing as he caught sight of Escar's shoes. He let his emerald eyes follow up her figure, and smiled to her as he pulled himself to his feet, his tail swaying behind him. Hello!

Escar jumped, turning to face him. After a moment of stareing, first at his ears, and then at his tail, she blushed slightly. "Ah! I-I'm sorry! I was stareing...You are a cat!" She blinked, folding her hands.

Atari frowned softly and cupped his hands over his ears best he could. I'm not a cat...he insisted, his eyes on Escar. I'm actually more like a little foxy thing...This is just how I look when I don't wanna be a little critter or a full human.

Escar blushed more. "Ah! I'm sorry! I just assumed....Sorry! I mean, it was more of a guess really...Sorry!" She put her hands over her cheeks in a desperate attempt to hide her embarassment, trying to think of something to say, but the only thing that came to mind were more apologies.

Atari tilted his head slightly at Escar, his hands moving from his ears to hold his tail to his front. You apologize a lot, he started, still examinig the girl. Why? She was only the third encounter he'd had with any others in the Underground, but already he could tell that nobody was going to be similar in the least - save for maybe those twins he'd met.

"Well, it was a big mistake," Escar said, still embarassed. "And it was embarassing...." She continued to hold her cheeks, but it wasn't exactly working on hiding her embarassment. Think of something else to sa, you're just making an idiot of yourself! She yelled at herself as she lowered her hands. "Ah..um...I'm Escarelia! Sorry for mistaking you for a cat!"

Atari let out a soft laugh and he bowed his head to Escarelia. My name is Ataremashite, but you can call me Atari! It's easy, and I like the way it sounds. he purred, examining the girl. You have pretty hair, like my sister. he offered, tilting his head slightly to Esca, his compliment an attempt to make her somewhat more comfortable with him.

"Nice to meet you...Atari," she sad, deciding to go with his shorter name instead of trying to repeat Ataremashite. "You can call me Escar, or Relia if you want too. Escarelia is rather long...Though not as long as your name..." She blushed a little more. "Thank you..." She struggled not to stare at his ears or tail, the concept new to her as she hadn't anyone quite like him before.

Your name is almost as long as mine, but it sounds prettier in full than mine does! Atari chimed, his ears shifting some in a display of happiness. He let go of his tail and shifted to sit crosslegged on the ground, his tail tip twitching just slightly as he examined her still, the various ribbons on her attire making him want to play. Have you been here a long time? he asked, curious as to how long others have been here, since he himself was still relatively new.

She blushed slightly. "Thank you, I suppose." She chuckled lightly, still a little embarassed, but less now. "My mom likes long and unusal names, so she gave me one..." She chuckled once more, then blinked at his question. "I've been here....a few weeks, I think." She blinked, trying to think of the exact date she'd gotten to the underground, but she couldn't. She tilted her head and sat down so she could be at the same level as him, flattening out her skirt, trying not to get it too dirty. Maybe vain, but she didn't liked trying to get stains out of clothing.

My daddy named me but my mommy chose my nickname! He shared with Esca, smiling brightly. I haven't been here long either. Maybe...A month? He wasn't sure how time worked in the Underground, as the realm he came from was somewhat timeless. Do you like it here? He glanced to her, noting her discomfort about the skirts on the ground, and gestured over his lap with a pale purple hand, a soft blanket appearing under them.

"I never met my birth parents...I mean, I'm sure I did, but I can't remember them. I was one of those old fasion left in a basket with a note on a doorstep babies..." She smiled slightly, the story not painful to her any longer. "Personally, I do like it here. A much smaller place than my last home and...Ah!" She blinked as the blanket appeared, and looked back up at him. "You can do magic?"

I sleep in a basket sometimes...Atari said softly in thought before Esca 'Ah!'ed, which startled him into a standing position rather instantaneously. Yes? he squeeked, holding his tail tightly to his chest, his eyes wide in surprise.
