Marcus smiled, his hands hungrily running along her as though to make sure that she wasn't some dream. And even when he had been assured that she was, in fact, very real, he did not stop his hands from wandering. "Will you be here tonight?"

Terryn shivered at his touch, remembering one of the baser reasons that she had missed him. "I will if you so desire..."

At this, Marcus almost laughed. "How could you think for even a moment that I would not desire it?" he asked Terryn, grinning. "After not seeing my love for a full eternity?"

"Well you may want to spend a quiet evening at him with your darling grandmother." Terryn brushed her fingertips up the back of his neck, wishing that her father wasn't in the next room.

Marcus was amused. "Goodness. You've forgotten my character entirely." He grinned at Terryn's light touch. "The prudent thing to do would be to remind you of it."

"I believe that would be a good idea." Terryn leaned back, glancing into the kitchen. "They would not miss us if we were gone for a few minutes..." She kissed him on his neck lightly.

Marcus closed his eyes. He'd missed that, too. "And moreover, neither of us would care." The elders probably expected it, really. Especially the Duchess, who was accustomed to such things. He kept an arm securely around Terryn's waist and led the way to his room rather gallantly.

"Food is ready." The earl stepped out of the dining room, not entirely surprised when he saw his daughter had already disappeared, probably upstairs. He shook his head with a small chuckled and returned to the table. "The children are not quite ready yet."

Several minutes later, Marcus surfaced once again. "Tonight," he promised, grinning lazily.

Terryn rolled her eyes and pulled him in for a kiss. "Tonight." She ran her fingers through his hair and gave him a smile. "Hungry yet?"

"Starved," he confirmed, getting up and straightening out his clothes. "I haven't had real food for ages and ages. Coming with me?" he asked, his hand already on the door.

"No, I think I will wait here until tonight." Terryn grinned, sitting up and flattening her mussed up hair. Her stomach rumbled audibly, causing her to sigh and take his hand. "Alright, perhaps I shall eat a little. But only because I was too anxious too eat anything since yesterday morning."

"You were afraid that I would arrive with the manners of a convict?" Marcus asked, grinning and beginning to descend down the stairs. "Because I might. I am, after all, very hungry."

Terryn shrugged, trying her best to hold back a smile and remain cool and nonchalant. "I do not fear your table manners as much as your bedside ones. I have heard stories of what prisoners do to each other in those sorts of places."

Marcus fought off a smile. "You've been craning your neck to hear them, I don't doubt."
The Duchess kept lifting lids uselessly. "You will mention something of marriage to him," she kept telling the earl, gazing at a casserole and then setting the lid down.
