Actually, no. Exarchs are people who have lost themselves on the path of the warrior and are now bound to a life of bloodshed. Phoenix lords are above them immensely, though still bound to the single aspect. Autarchs are people who haven't been so lost in a single aspect and have learned from many.

a pheonix lord is just an uber exarch, the first of the shrine, except for the avenger pheonix lord,

That's exactly what I just said, buddy. Phoenix Lords are by far above the Exarchs and still bound to the Aspect.

. . . wait a second, ive confused myself, i in the post starting this discussion, that each exarch is the ultimate warrior of his aspect (dont ask why i didnt say it before), Pheonix lords are most powerful and founders of their respective aspects (excluding the Avenger pheonix lord), alright, thanks for putting up with that

I believe that you're wrong again, though. As I know it, Karandras became the Phoenix Lord of the Striking Scorpions by beating the former Phoenix Lord in single combat.

i thought that it was Asuryen, that the origional avenger pheonix lord went rouge or something, and is now called the fallen pheonix, or something similar

Hrm, not sure. I need to lay hands on an Eldar codex and look this up.

No, the oldest Striking Scorpion went rogue, not Asuryan.

i didnt say asuryen did, i said the pheonix lord before him, anyway, i might have them mixed up anyway

Asuryan was the first Avenger Exarch, and there wasn't anyone before him, because he made the first Aspect shrine. Damn I'm fluffy! D:

EDIT: Sorry, he was the first Pheonix Lord.

wait, isnt the pheonix lord the founder of the aspect shrine? if so, then he would still be the first exarch, musta been karandras i was thinkin of then, ok, thanks for the correction

What weapon do you like the most with the Avatar, then? I personally like the sword, but the spear ain't bad. Oh, and from ForgeWorld? I have yet to see one... crying

If done properly, there is an incredible amount of fun conversion/modeling potential on an Avatar with a spear. Some kinda badass ideas that pop into my head while thinking of that:

  • Standing over the "corpse" of a Dreadnought with the weapon buried into the sarcophagus.
  • Holding the spear aloft with (something) impaled upon it.
  • A warning/beckoning pose kind of as a challenge to his enemies.

Of course, all of those could very easily be done with the sword as well. One of the Eldar players in my group has an avatar that's crushing the head of a Chaos Space Marine in its open hand.
