Miyoko Clarinetti Flaming_Ninja_Dragon Oh, I was wondering what kind of thumb rest everyone uses. I've seen some huge ones, like my other cousin's. It slips on the thumb rest and is about 2 cm thick. My clarinet did have one that was glued to the metal part of the thumb rest (it was only like 1 mm thick though,) and in 7th grade band camp it started coming off so I just ripped it off and lived without it. I have a rubber thingy...on mine o_O mines painful... it's a piece of metal with about a nanometer of cork on it

Mine is just metal, and it can get quite painful during long practices.

Miyoko Clarinetti ever went to that big massive ff sheet music place? ^-^? it made me utterly good at site reading ::tho my site readings a bit eh now crying :: Where is it? I could use the help with sight reading. (I can barely sight read quarter notes! Well, the last time I checked, at least.) I have a callus on my right thumb from my thumb rest. Music update: I got the sheet music online for the song of healing. I figured out the sort of a love song last night, and I started doing zelda's theme, but I had to quit because it was getting late.

I found this really awesome music website, http://www.pandora.com/you get to customize your own radio station by typing in a song that you like and it will play other songs like it. You can sign up for free and have up to 100 stations. I've been listening to it for about 3 hours.

Woah, college makes me feel old. Er, you guys don't need to download sheet music if you have the midi, just get the trial version of noteworthy composer and open it in that, then you can even edit the parts if you want. Anyways... I usually just use the thumbrest thats standard for the R-13's I have, but I have tried the soft rubber ones, although they change my hand position cuz of their thickness. My teacher always uses surgical tubing. I love my new A clarinet, it tunes SO much better than my Bb. It's a little annoying though that my high E won't speak unless I have the little finger down. Double high C also responds a little muddier, but it speaks nonetheless. I warm up everyday on the A then switch over to the Bb to play Weber's first concerto opening and the Copeland clarinet concerto. Anyone need any professional help or advice? My forum kinda died, so I'll try helping out around here. Wordbump is addicting, and I can only get up to 82 :c

Did you report it? If you didn't, be sure to. Use the "Report a Hacking" button so they can catch the lousy, low-life scumbag who did it. yeah I can, and so can you, but it won't actually be on the radio.

Heh... I'm lucky to have instruments that tune well naturally, so I only have to get used to the slight intonation problems in the altissimo and throat tones. The clarino and chalumeau registers should be in tune most of the time if you have a good enough horn. I'm working on the intro to Weber's Concerto #1 for college auditions. So does this mean your parents have unkicked you out of band? haha
