☽ Emma released her barriers and moved out of the way of any remaining fireballs. She glanced over at Herald after he attacked the Reaver and seemed to motion for both her and Takeshi to come over. She launched a lightning bolt attack at Reaver while he was down to try and keep him down a bit longer. After that, she quickly went over while keeping an eye on The Reaver out of the corner of her eye. ☾

Pleased with the results of his attacks, Takeshi makes his way towards Herald so he could listen to what he had to say. "Anything you'd like to say, the voice wants to know." Takeshi was still acting a bit out of it but no one should have any worries about the situation since he seemed focused on the task at hand. It was unclear if Takeshi was carefully assessing The Reaver due to his mask hiding most of his face.

Takeshi's Techniques - The ones in use will be bolded.
Spells/Powers:
+ Black Step - Very similar to the original Takeshi's blue step the black step is a variation of it. By resonating with himself Takeshi is capable of moving at super high speeds leaving behind a blur like after image of him. The reason why the technique gets the name Black Step is because of the clothing Takeshi wears, when the after image of Takeshi is left it looks all black and fuzzy due to his clothing. Unlike the original the alternate can use this technique in quick succession due to his stamina so he could out speed anyone he comes into contact with. Anyone that is unfortunate enough to battle Takeshi will have a hard time catching up with him. This technique can't be used in his madness release form because Takeshi doesn't travel the way he does when he is using madness to enhance most of his capabilities. Most people confuse this technique as teleportation but truly its Takeshi's speed. In his kishin form this move is referred to him as the black dance due to the dramatically enhanced speed boost.
+ Soul Protect - A technique that is in constant use by Takeshi. In order to escape Shibusen's meisters and weapons Takeshi will use soul protect. This allows Takeshi to bypass soul perception which would be able to distinguish his soul from an average humans soul. Most with soul perception will see his soul as a human soul and have no clue of his warlock soul. He is also capable of disguising his wavelength to that of a regular cat. Since there are certain people that would be able to detect lies due to the fluctuations of wavelengths Takeshi has learned to keep his wavelength calm so no one would be able to detect his lies.
+ Familiars - Around the time Takeshi was still going to the DMA in the alternate universe he managed to animate his toy teddy bear. He named it Cookie and cares a great deal for it, calling it a him instead of a her since it didn't seem as feminine. Normally the stuffed bear is used for stuff such as household chores or guarding Takeshi while he sleeps. Cookie means the world to Takeshi and so far he thinks of them as the only beings he could truly trust. Always around Takeshi, he wears them on an article of his clothing all of the time which is usually his sweater. All he has to do is say his name and the familiar will awaken and grow a bit bigger in size. Cookie can't speak but Takeshi can understand every movement he makes since they have a unique link. Usually when he awakens the stick on the bear in toy mode will also grow. So far Cookie has been known to be used as a spy, guard, and even test dummy for training. Cookie is surprisingly fast and is able to move without detection, especially since he has no soul. After sustaining some damage they will revert back to their toy form. Cookie can scale tall buildings with a super jump but other than that and the previously mentioned features, that's all he could do. His other familiars are a bit different and are summoned for combat reasons. When using his shadow magic Takeshi can create familiars that are produced from his own shadows. These familiars aren't as strong individually but more of as a group. Usually producing five to ten shadows in order to attack his enemies Takeshi will order them to attack his enemies. The first familiars, shadows, are the weakest and capable of just scratching attacks and more stuff when they're in a group. Stalkers are the next level of shadows and much more quick and able than shadows. Most of the time Takeshi will create just five since they are more than capable of fighting by themselves.
+ Madness Overload - A technique that allows Takeshi to take on even the mightiest of foes. By amplifying the madness already within himself, Takeshi can fight on the level of a human that is undergoing madness release. When under the powerful influence of madness Takeshi's traits and abilities and greatly enhanced enabling him fight on an entirely new level. Upon using this technique Takeshi will also change his appearance greatly such as wearing a black cloak made of madness, his feet will also sink into the ground leaving only his legs. The way Takeshi travels now is by sinking into the ground as a shadow, his body now bends and twists in strange ways. Only when Takeshi uses madness overload is he capable of summoning his unique mask and weapon made of madness which you could learn more about in the description above. Among the new abilities Takeshi obtains he can transform his body into a shadow and phase through an enemys attack. This lasts one post and needs a five post cool down. Towards the end of training to learn how to control his madness he developed this form. Amplifying his own madness was a huge risk therefore Takeshi's master didn't like the idea of using it in battle but the young man will still use it if needed. Because of Takeshi's training with the cultist he is able to control the madness even more now and can freely enter this stage whenever he wants and maintain it for extended periods of time. Despite being able to fully control the madness release his personality will change to closely resemble that of a madman. His fighting style will be unpredictable and hard to follow. Just because he loses some sanity Takeshi will still be able to know the difference between friend and foe alike so his allies won't be in any real danger.
+ Kishin Form - This form is a last resort. When Takeshi enters this form his speed is unmatched and his strength unparalleled. His defense is also given an amazing boost as well as all his five senses. Though when undergoing this form Takeshi makes sure to chain these big morning stars on his arms as a sort of restraint. Even with the restraints Takeshi is able to move at high speeds in this form easily as if the restraints didn't even exist. After eating many pure human souls fed to him by the cult that raised him he began to grow more aggressive. More powers were revealed and he was coming closer to becoming a true kishin however he started losing himself. He would see illusions and go into these panic attacks. It was awful for the boy. Losing his sanity he said he wouldn't eat another pure human soul until his training to carry out the cults mission would be carried out. Later he would get better and regain his sanity but he would still swear off of eating pure human souls. He uncovered this form after eating the last pure human soul he would eat at the abandoned hospital. Everyone immediately thought that Takeshi was in the process of becoming a kishin because his wavelength was reaching levels that closely resembled that of a regular kishin, however this wasn't the case. Quickly his body changed and his eyes didn't even look normal anymore. Just as everyone was about to celebrate his awakening as a kishin he reverted back to his average form. Later he would learn that he could enter this form freely though every time he did his body would be under heavy stress afterwards. Despite obtaining this form he can't maintain it for large periods of time unless he becomes a full fledged kishin. By eating just one more pure human soul Takeshi will become a true kishin and transform into his kishin form permanently. Without the restraints Takeshi can attack using his claws or his legs to cause devastating damage. He also gains the ability to manipulate and produce intense black flames of madness from his body. These can be used for a number of purposes such as using it in physical combat, creating barriers of black flames, and even incorporating a battle style for it. The black flames are extremely intense and are more deadly than average flames. Ultimately this form is stronger than his madness overlord form. If Takeshi uses this form in succession he will grow a third eye on his forehead symbolizing that the madness has nearly taken over him and his mind on the border between sane and insane.
+ Madness Manipulation - The ultimate form of madness is being able to harness that power and control it. This ability of Takeshi allows him to use his madness to enhance his physical prowess and speed. Thanks to this ability Takeshi is able to use his shadow magic offensively as well as concentrate the madness through his sword to enhance his cutting ability. Madness manipulation is the ability to use the massive amounts of madness within someone to empower the user or compress it into the form of blasts and beams. Madness is available to everyone since most people have at least a small amount of madness within them. Only those with immeasurable amounts of madness could unleash the full potential of its empowering properties. Depending on the person the effects of madness will effect everyone differently. Being the new embodiment of fear Takeshi's madness is terror. His magic is the control of shadows. By empowering himself with madness he is covered in a black shadow like aura that makes itself very apparent. Though empowering his body with madness gives him a darker look this isn't a form that can be compared to his other two but he does consider it due to the appearance change. This empowerment transformation is known as Shadow Drive hence the aura that would be emanating from him. When compressing the madness into a destructive force Takeshi can create black balls of madness that cause dome like explosions that range quite far. Compressing it into a form of blast is also possible. Finally Takeshi can alter the form of the madness and change the shape of it, enabling him to convert the madness into weapons. In weapon form the madness is highly weak to an Anti-Demon wavelength and will immediately disperse should a user come into contact with it.
+ Black Shadow Magic - This is the type of magic that Takeshi uses as a Warlock. By fusing Takeshi's magical power with the shadows he can manipulate them making them fall under his command. Now before the madness had made its presence known within the young warlock's body, this form of magic wasn't as deadly. It allows the complete manipulation of shadows within the nearby vicinity. Altering the shape and form of shadows was the original limitation before Takeshi's madness amplified its powers and changed the shadows he controls into a physical form. Much like vector magic, shadow magic is very similar in the way it attacks, although shadow magic differs and has some unique limits. Takeshi can only manipulate shadows when there are actually shadows, he can't function well in areas devoid of light entirely. Despite being able to control shadows only Takeshi's shadow can be used in an offensive manner. After Takeshi's shadows have been amplified by his own madness they've evolved and managed to grow eyes and mouthes with teeth. These mouthes are capable of eating and the eyes link back to Takeshi, basically it enables father eye sight. Takeshi's shadow can take on a variety of shapes, from sharp spikes to tendril-like hands. He can also manipulate, slice through or devour anything that comes in contact with his shadow and it appears invulnerable to conventional physical harm, although it can be deflected by sufficiently hard objects. He can also see and talk through his shadowy eyes and mouths wherever his shadow can extend. Any form of light magic interferes with Takeshi's shadow magic. Madness induced shadows however are much more resilient than the regular shadows Takeshi manipulates. After using madness overload Takeshi's whole body will be able to transform into a physical form of the shadows themselves enabling him to use his shadow magic anywhere. In his madness induced form Takeshi must travel by sinking into the ground and moving in a way as if he was swimming on the ground as a shadow. When under the effects of madness Takeshi is still able to move as a shadow in areas devoid of light, able to use his body as a weapon.

Herald looked between the two of them, clearly pleased with how the battle was going. He was hurt but still in good enough condition to keep up the fight. "Once he's hurt enough and realizes he can't win, he's going to use his Volcano Bomb to wipe us out while he crawls himself to safety." Emma would remember from when Herald used the same tactic on Atticus in their last fight, narrowly claiming victory. He glanced at The Reaver who was stalled slightly longer by Emma's blast. "Just like most of his flame-based moves, he's going to exhale it." Herald looked towards Takeshi. "He'll attempt to draw in a massive amount of resonance force before he launches it. You'll know. When he tries to fire, use your tendrils to cover his mouth. Once you try and launch the Volcano Bomb, you can't take it back so he'll have no choice but to fire. Give him a serious case of indigestion. It won't be as powerful since the Volcano Bomb gains more power once it's unleashed, but it'll be enough to take him out. Understand?" The Reaver was almost back to his feet by now. He was clearly slowing but like Herald, was still very capable of fighting. Herald's strategy aimed to change that. Abilities used:

"Understood. BWAHA!" Takeshi looked back at The Reaver while readying his shadows. "Like a muzzle for a troublesome dog." This time he was going to do everything in his power to end the battle, he didn't feel like hanging around for this so called volcano bomb, it seemed deadly enough from Herald's description. "I won't disappoint my fans! Mwahaha!" This time there were more tendrils then ever formed since Herald and Emma had met him. "I feel a storm is coming. A storm..." Each individual string just moved around until a quick change in attitude occurred, they all froze while pointing at The Reaver. "I'll put everything I have into this one! YAHAHA!"

Herald nodded. "Good. Emma, let's get him to use it." With that Herald turned to The Reaver who had just gotten back to his feet and rushed forward, slamming into him. The Reaver grabbed Herald as they met and they were locked together. Herald headbutted The Reaver before giving him a punch to the jaw. The Reaver responded with a kick to the stomach and an uppercut. Herald pulled out of The Reaver's grip and spat a ball of flame at him which he deflected. The trails of energy behind Herald surrounded The Reaver and began burning him as Herald maintained close proximity. The Reaver was vulnerable to an assault from Emma while he was so focused on Herald. Abilities used:
☽ Emma smirked and nodded in reply to Herald before jumping out of the way as Herald and Reaver went at it again. She waited a few moments before flames swirled in her hand and a sword appeared. Her energy began building up before she launched a huge slash of white flames at The Reaver from behind. Followed by that, lightning sparked all around her and she created multiple orbs of lightning, throwing them at him so if he dodged her first attack, he would definitely be hit by these.☾
The Reaver grabbed Herald and pushed both of them forward, moving out of the way of Emma's flames. When Emma's lightening balls hit The Reaver they traveled from him to Herald as well, shocking them both. Herald grit his through the pain before shoving The Reaver off of him. Herald then jumped a few feet into the air quickly leaning backwards so that he was horizontally perpendicular he pulled both legs back and kicked out with them at the same time slamming them into The Reaver's chest. The Reaver went flying backwards, skidding across the ground as Herald quickly got to his feet and spat a few more fireballs towards The Reaver as he landed. The Reaver scrambled to his feet as soon as he stopped skidding along the ground, dodging some of Herald's fireballs while being hit by others. This wasn't going well for him and he could tell. "Better end this while I'm strong enough to..." he mumbled. The Reaver began to focus and suddenly a massive amount of energy began to focus around him. The ground near him cracked and the air became super-heated, making it somewhat hard to breathe. Herald watched passively as The Reaver took a very deep breath. The Reaver began to immolate, red fires dancing around over him as he focused. Suddenly he leaned back looking straight up into the air as he opened his mouth, scarlet fire streaming down the sides of his mouth as he prepared to fire his Volcano Bomb. Herald quickly looked back at Takeshi. "NOW!" He yelled. Abilities used:
HAHAHA! Look at me! Whats with these weird clothes? Don't you think I would look better in red?

Takeshi made a sulking noise when Herald was hit by Emma's attack. It was without a doubt difficult to function well as the two wolves battled fiercely in combat. Just as things seemed to be heating up some more he got the cue from Herald to assault. "An opening! Won't let boss man down now!" Giving a salute he began his attack. All the shadows that had been previously pointed at The Reaver were immediately flung towards him. Every strip aimed to suppress him while the most noticeable action that Takesh tried to pull off was wrapping a tendril around The Reaver's mouth. Success would cause the outcome of the battle to be in favor of the three. As all of these shadows zoomed towards The Reaver more and more formed just to be safe, he wasn't going to blow this chance. "A STORM! A STORM OF SHADOWS! BWAHAHA!" Laughing like a mad man still Takeshi was actually focusing on every detail of the situation.

The Reaver's eyes widened as he felt Takeshi's shadows wrap around him, covering his mouth completely. Only too late did he realized what the plan had been. But just as Herald had explained, it was too late for The Reaver to stop. There was a flash of light that shown through Takeshi's shadows for a split second before a massive detonation and flash of light blinded the three of them, the epicenter being The Reaver. The explosion rocked the entire realm, expanding roughly 100 feet in every direction as it carved out a deep crater in the ground. When the explosion and light faded all that was left was a deep crater filled with smoke and falling debris. Herald didn't waste any time, rushing into the smoke to find his opponent. The only sign of Herald behind the smoke was a dull green glow that grew fainter as he traveled to the epicenter of the crater. It disappeared momentarily. Suddenly there was a massive and prolonged gust of wind that whipped through the crater, pushing out the smoke in several quick seconds. In the center of the crater stood Herald holding The Reaver up in the air, hands wrapped around his throat. The Reaver was back in his human form though he was obviously still alive. Herald was talking to The Reaver, but Emma and Takeshi would have to move closer if they wanted to hear what was going on. The Reaver still had a cocky grin on his face while Herald's was one of stern anger.
☽ Emma covered her face as the explosion rocked through the area. She blinked a few times once it cleared and watched as Herald went to get The Reaver. She grinned then when she saw he was back in his human form "Nice, Takeshi!" she exclaimed before going closer to Herald to see what he and The Reaver were talking about. ☾
HAHAHA! Look at me! Whats with these weird clothes? Don't you think I would look better in red?
Can I borrow some red from you...?

All the destruction that had taken place had ended up making Takeshi all frazzled. He wasn't expecting the technique to be of that magnitude at all. Some debris was sent flying towards Takeshi during the blast but it wasn't anything too serious. "No you did most of the fighting, thanks though. That was some explosion huh?" Making his way towards the crater he was rather curious to find out what it was that was happening down there. "What are they talking about...?" Surprisingly Takeshi didn't seem to be acting out and he wasn't talking weird or adding any weird laughs either. It could have simply been because he really wanted to know what was going on following the blast. As he leaned in to listen carefully he made the effort to remain quick. He wasn't going to let his guard down just yet around someone like The Reaver around, although he seemed pretty beaten at the moment. "He's still smiling, wonder if he has anything else to throw."

"....then Emma's dead. You don't want that do you? They'll even kill Jack the Shadow-Happy Scythe Man over there just for being associated with you," The Reaver was in the middle of saying. "And why should I believe you?" Herald snarled in return. "Would you lie about something like that?""No.""Exactly." Herald's frown deepened. "If they want that witch Mirai so bad, why come after us? Wouldn't that just cause them more trouble?""Because you're a team.""We've never even worked together.""But you are on paper and that's good enough for them." Herald's eyes narrowed before The Reaver continued. "See if they have a target, they don't just kill the target: they kill the target and anyone close to them. Anyone they think might retaliate. You're an official team. You're close enough to make their list."
Herald glanced briefly at Emma and Takeshi as they arrived. "You should hear this..." he told them somberly. It was unusual for Herald to let a defeated opponent monologue for so long so whatever was being discussed had Herald seriously concerned. The Reaver looked over at Emma and Takeshi. "Yeah, see, I was actually about to seek you two out myself," he said, meaning Emma and Herald. "You see, you guys have giant bulls-eyes on your foreheads and you don't even realize it. You too takey-she or whatever your name is. Since you're kickn' around with these two you've probably made their list. Guilty by association." He paused for a moment to give a laugh. "Yeah....The Machinist Order is coming for you guys for sure. They'll take out their main target first: that witch daughter of Divine and his girlfriend. But you guys are next.""Because we're supposedly a team?""Yup. That's it."
There was a pause as Herald considered what The Reaver was talking about before he looked towards Emma and Takeshi. "Start from the top," he told The Reaver. "Again?""Yes. Again." The Reaver took a quick breath through Herald's tight grip before looking at the three of them. "Well, I'm sure you heard the news: you guys are being hunted by a pretty bad group of guys. They call themselves The Machinist Order, and they're after you because of your association with the witch, Mirai. She's their actual target, but they prefer to take out anyone they think might retaliate for their target's death; preemptive strike and all that. That would include you guys since you're officially a team. And Takey-she because he's associated himself with you guys." Herald shook his head. "Mirai is causing me a headache as usual," he muttered. "Who are these guys anyway? What do they want? How strong are they? And how in the world do you know all this?"
The Reaver gave the best shrug he could in his hanging position. "They're in my world too. They're a pretty strong faction actually; one of the few that's strong enough to challenge Lord Death, though sometimes they cooperate. In my world they're a good bit stronger than they are here but I'm sure in this world they'll become just as strong if left alone long enough. Then everyone'll be sorry. You might be surprised to hear that they're mostly made up of regular humans. Well, not so regular anymore. They've augmented themselves. Not sure how. It's a closely guarded secret. Basically they're a bunch of humans who don't like the fact that the strength of Weapons, Meisters, demons, witches and so on and so forth have made them the weakest beings on the planet. They think humans should rule the planet and the less of the other beings around, the better. With zero being the ideal number. They formed The Machinist Order to help make that happen. It's a massive organization that focuses on research and development into ways humans can overcome every other creature on the planet and they've made some pretty significant breakthroughs. But they're not stupid. They know at this point they can't openly challenge the other beings so they do almost everything under the radar. They focus on sabotage, misinformation and assassinations, the latter being your problem. They probably made Mirai a target due to her being a hybrid of both demon and witch, something that's unusually powerful. Better to kill her and all her friends now before they have a chance to figure out what's going on and fight back. And I know they're making their move against Mirai right now, so if I were you guys I would get over there and make sure she doesn't, you know, die."
Herald gave a small growl. "And how do you know they're after her now?" The Reaver nodded. "Her partner, Texas, is one of them. He's the leader of them actually. In our world anyway. I don't think he is here because he wouldn't be on a normal field mission if that were the case. In our world he took control when he assassinated the old leader. I wouldn't be surprised if he were planning the same thing here, but that clearly hasn't happened yet.""So why not leave Mirai to her fate? We can handle the ones who come for us.""Actually, no, you can't." Herald pulled The Reaver closer. "Wanna bet?""I do." Herald growled and squeezed The Reaver's neck tighter, causing him to cough several times before Herald allowed him to breathe again. "The Order is focused on creating very specialized agents. It's their strength and their weakness. They have highly trained agents throughout the world, mostly undercover. Whatever these humans use to make themselves stronger, it has its own limits: They can only augment themselves so much and each augmentation is only effective against one particular kind of being. For example, they have agents that are fully augmented to face WeaponMeister teams and those guys will absolutely slaughter WeaponMeisters in combat, but they're extremely vulnerable to any other kind of being as a result. They can split their augmentations up however they like but they can only undergo so many. There's some who try and spread their augmentations out to have a decent fighting chance against all kinds of beings, others who focus on two or three and specialist who focus all their augmentations on one specific type of being. Mirai is a demon/witch hybrid, so the one they send after her will be augmented to be extremely effective against both demons and witches, but that will leave them very vulnerable to other beings, like oh...I dunno...kishins? But when they come for you guys they'll send assassins who are augmented against demons and kishins, but vulnerable to witches. But if you wait around you won't have a witch on your teach to help you and they'll kill you fairly easily. They probably haven't accounted for that Takey-she guy over there and so it'll be pretty funny when they show up and run into him, but it'll only work once. So they take out the witches first and you guys will be left wide open. Like I said, they'll send someone who's good against both witches and demons against Mirai and they'll send someone who's absolutely devastating against witches to kill Charlotte. Once that's done, you're next. Bottom line: If Mirai dies, you'll follow pretty quick."

You stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, whats lost can be found You stand in the rain...
☽ Emma frowned as she listened to Reaver explain things about the Machinist Order. Things were definitely getting pretty dangerous here. Once he finished speaking, Emma looked up at Herald "If what he says is true, we need to get to Mirai quickly." she said. Now that Reaver mentioned it, Mirai was fighting. Mirai seemed to let off a powerful energy whenever she was fighting, and Emma could smell it even in Herald's territory. ☾
Gee today has been nothing but a bore and its likely the next day will be a bore. Aw who are we kidding? My entire life has been a bore lately.

All the madness that Takeshi had been wearing as if it was some sort of armor faded from his body. Listening to every word carefully he began to feel overwhelmed. "That certainly is a lot to take in..." Slowly piecing everything The Reaver said together he got the fact that this group of humans specializing in attacking different types of races. "They sound pretty fierce...humans that specialize in your weakness. This augmentation just sounds straight up bizarre." As he went on the name of this person he had never met before kept popping up rather frequently. They planned to attack Herald and Emma just for having some form of contact with her. I wonder who this girl is, she's a hybrid just like me! Oh wait that doesn't matter now! I've got to pay closer attention. The Reaver had also stated that the group was from his world which Takeshi himself believed could have been the same. There were certainly some familiar things The Reaver had mentioned before and now as well but most of his time in the alternate world had been replaced by the memories of some run down and now destroyed hospital. Eventually the leader of this organization's name made itself known. "Texas...but you said he was her partner. I doubt he would...hurt her." Following everything up he got one thing memorized especially, if she died it was likely things would end up bad. She was currently being attacked and if she were to die it would potentially mean trouble. "You've overlooked one thing...there aren't many options and since I've got nothing better to do...I'll guess I'll have to stick with them! I'm going to be their Warlock, the handsome and devilish as well as fun loving guy Takeshi Nakashima!" Now that Takeshi had assisted Herald and Emma there didn't seem to be any other options, plus being with them was kind of fun. There wasn't really anything for him to go back to anyway so the situation didn't bother him that much. "Of course if the team leader doesn't mind, or Emma." He smiled for a few seconds before realizing that this wasn't the time for his childish attitude. "So...maybe we should...or you guys...I mean maybe we should consider helping this girl, after we do something with him." Seconds pass and he realizes that The Reaver was saying his name wrong on purpose, he stared at him with an aggressive look and whispered to him, "I wouldn't be joking around in a time like this."
