Lorey saw how nervous he was and had to make him look at her to see just what was going on.
"Dear..." she said with a playful warning tone in her voice. "Is something going on that I don't know about? And is it a good thing?"
She didn't really like secrets and was thankful everything would be unveiled the next day or so.

Richard smiled, sighing slightly as he took her face in his hands and kissing her sweetly. "You'll see..." he promised, cooing gently to her as he hugged her. "It's a trip you wont soon forget love..." He smiled, kissing her gently.

And indeed, it wouldn't be. When morning came, Richard and Lorey woke up, filled their stomachs to the brim with food, and grabbed their belongings for the adventure. Damian offered to drive them to the landing pads so they wouldn't have to call a cab or worry about the speeder being left behind.
"I'd love to know what's going on as much as you would," he said to Lorey as she pulled on her coat.

"Well we'll tell you all about it when we get back..." Richard smiled, giving Damian a look and a wink. "But for now we had better get going. Enty has the ship ready and I went ahead and called a taxi mate, so you wouldn't have to drive us all that way." He explained. "We'll be back in about a week...you two be careful and dont have too much fun." He winked.
Raquel rolled her eyes, coming up from behind Damian. She had just woken up to say goodbye as well, not sure of really why they were going herself. She hadn't heard Richard's plans as of yet.
"We'll try not to, but I'm not making any promises..." She retorted, wrapping her hands around Damian's waist.
Richard merely laughed, taking Loreys luggage in one hand and waving ot them with the other. "Weshould be off then. Lorey darling you ready?" He asked, heading out the door.

"Yes, I'm coming!" she said. She gave Damian and Raquel a hug before waving and smiling like mad, following Richard out the door.
Once Damian was sure they were gone, he looked to Raquel and grinned.
"Someone gave Richard a country home on Druis. Lorey has no idea."

Raquel's eyes grew large as she gasped and smiled. "Really! Oh my- T-t-thats wonderful!!!!" She exclaimed, hugging him tighter. "Oh she's going to be so happy...." her voice trailed off with her thoughts as she smiled warmly yet distantly, just picturing Lorey's face. "Things are really coming together for them...that's so wonderful...." She sighed.

"And when they're ready, they'll fly the coop and live in Druis." Damian bit the inside of his lip in thought. Druis was a very tempting place to go, but not for the sake of keeping tabs on Richard and Lorey. He wondered, though...
"Raquel," Damian said, turning to catch her around the waist in a hug. "I was thinking about relocating from this world myself. Someday."

Raquel blinked a few times, thinking about it. "I'd like that...actually I'd love that..." She offered dreamily. She'd probably do anything to get off Veratia. Though if Damian was happy here she'd be happy...but if he wanted to leave, her bags would be packed in an instant. "I honestly think it'd be healthier for you... You dont know how much I really worry about you Damian..." She added, holding his arms around her tightly.

"You do?" He thought he'd nothing to really watch out for, except for the Ball Room, and his father, and...
Good grief, yes, he was a walking time bomb, wasn't he?
"Well I'm glad someone is. Truly, I cannot think of anything to solve my problems than... running from them. There is nothing I can do."
Damian hugged her lovingly, not too tight or too enveloping. Just comfortable, like he wanted their relationship to be.
"I hate that I cannot find a solution."

Raquel sighed but smiled. "Sometimes there is no solution..." She stated calmly. She felt that between Damian and herself, they must seem like awful cowards. What with Damian running away from his problems, Raquel simply ignoring them. Damian had that freedom to run away though Raquel had no where to run to. So she just held her head as high as she could while being beaten down by her problems.
Despite how cowardly this all seemed, they both knew that sometimes there was just nothing else to do. Nothing in your control to get over such problems. That was just their lot to bear.
"So .... we'll just have to make one ourselves." She looked up at him with a strange matter of fact nod, smiling at him. Her eyes sparkled as she leaned up, kissing him very sweetly on the chin.

The corner of his mouth turned up in a sad sort of smile.
"I cannot find any way to regain what is mine or find out how my father died without putting myself or all of you in extreme danger. I cannot solve my problems without risking everything, and I cannot see you hurt..."
Damian kissed her forehead, returning the same gesture with sweetness. "My solution is finding another world. I won't drag you there, though. Not if you don't want to come."

Raquel furrowed her brow slightly. "First of...I've been dying to leave this planet since I was a small girl...You know that." She said with a small nod.
"Though Damian... I refuse to let you leave with this shadow of mystery hanging over you. Sure you can run away from the physical problems, but those emotional ones follow you forever..." She looked him dead in the eye.
"Trust me... It's no way to live..." She shook her head, closing her eyes and bringing him close. She loved to listen to the sound of his heart beat. It always had a calming effect on her. "...once Richard and Lorey are away and settled... the only person you need to worry about is you. I can protect myself fine love... remember my past has some violence to it." She tried to joke but it was too solemn to her.
Yes she had been trained in a few styles of fighting, but rarely used them since her 'mercenary' days. She could understand Damian's worry though, since her attack at the ballroom. It was just simply that she had gotten locked on an emotional trigger that made her vulnerable and unable to move. Not uncommon in rape victims, but she was determined to somehow use her amarathien side to overcome it and be able to defend herself in any and all ways...

"I love you." It was such a soft whisper that he thought she might not have heard him at all, and so he said it again right into her ear as he held her.
"I would never ask you to come across the galaxy with me if... if I wasn't so sure that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Raquel."
Suddenly his heart was racing, and his lips were moving on without him, kissing her and forming words that sounded silly and desperate as soon as they escaped him.
"I-I wouldn't call this a marriage proposal, because I don't think we're both ready for that, b-but I want to spend my life with you, living together, being together, seeing your face and knowing that you're taken care of. This can be whatever you want it to be. I'm messing this up terribly, but I just..."
Damian paused and kissed her again for a moment of thought. Nothing came that would help, though. He just pulled back and looked her dead in the eye.
"I just know that I love you."

Raquel looked up at him, searching his eyes while her own watered. As he spoke, a rush of emotion took over her, as his frantic words reached her ears, she found herself shaking ever so slightly. This wasn't a proposal. She had to calm herself down to understand that. This was a declaration.
She lifted her hands to his face, bringing him closer to hers. "And I just know I feel the same... And want the same..." She whispered, letting her lips take control as they pleaded for his.

There was definitely a perk to having the house to themselves. Try as he might to stay cool, Damian found himself asking for more as the seconds passed.
"We'll plan," he said softly in a free moment. "Everything. Find a house, move, get away from here..."
Not quite marriage but everything minus the ring. Damian felt extremely guilty about that, but when they were ready to get married, they would. It was just too soon.
