Lore was relieved to get out of that, though he feared it might only be temporary rather than a good permament thing. He shook her hand gratefully anyhow.
"And it is good to meet you."

I think... Daemon mused thoughtfully, since he could hear the sort of unsureness in Lore's own voice. After all he knew it had to be quite a personal matter and Lore seemed to want to allow Elnara that privacy.
That this is something to ask Elnara if you really want to know.

Elnara grinned happily at Lore.
"Nadya was my best friend growing up," she told him, just in case it was another one of those things she had forgotten to tell him. "Her parents took care of the plantation in my family's absence."
She laughed. "Funny thing is, now that she's married my brother it's hers as well!"

Gion agreed with Daemon. Lore didn't seem to want to talk about the other guy very much. He only hoped that Elnara would be fine talking about him, he knew from the last time they had been together that she could grow quite uncomfortable talking about certain subjects.
Then again, she was a lot different now than she had been then.
Nadya giggled at Elnara. "It's not, actually," she reminded her friend. "It's still yours, and yours alone."
Which meant that Elnara was filthy rich, really, along with being the princess, but she knew that Elnara didn't care for her title. It meant little to her, save that it told about who her family was.
Or did.
"Now come inside, both of you," she admonished Elnara and Lore, leading them towards the house. "You must be exhausted after a journey like that! Elnara, you especially!"
She had after all seen her friend arriving - in her mind's eye.

Lore smiled back at Elnara with a nod, "So how about you rest inside," he murmured in a light tone that spoke to the fact he was worried about her, "And you fill me in."

Elnara felt her face warming a bit - she had indeed promised Lore that she would rest as soon as they arrived, and she hadn't done so yet - and took his arm and led him towards the house.
"Well, it turns out Seeker's name is actually Lothiriel," she began, "and Seeker is just her nickname because she's a seer like Nadya is ..."

"She manifested a lot earlier than I did, though," Nadya put in softly, flicking some imaginary dirt from the back of her hand just as her daughter had done only a few minutes before. "So I'm wondering if her Gift might not turn out to be stronger than mine."
It was a possibility, after all.
Gion led the four of them into the house, through the living room and into the kitchen/dining room.
The main floor of the house hadn't changed at all since Elnara's last visit ... though the upstairs of the house had changed a great deal. In fact, there was another whole level to it now, since there was not only Lex, Laer, Nadya and Gion, but also the third generation, Galdor and Lothiriel.

"Ah.... I see," Lore nodded at that.
It was hard to imagine being able to see the figure, but he supposed it made sense. It made him wonder though.

Seeker was already in the kitchen with her grandmother, Laer, and the family resemblance was immediately apparent. Laer, Nadya, and Seeker, all looked very much alike, save for the few features they had inherited from their fathers.
"Well, hello!" Laer said brightly, coming out from behind the counter where she had been preparing lunch. "Welcome back, Elnara! And who is this with you?"
She wrapped Elnara in a hug, then turned to Lore and held out her hand. "My name is Laer, I'm Nadya's mother," she introduced herself brightly.

Elnara laughed a bit and after returning Laer's embrace warmly, she turned back to Lore.
"This is Lore," she introduced him to her friend's mother.
She wanted to add more, but ... what to add? No matter what she thought to say, it sounded presumptive to her mind.

He couldn't help but give a sort of shy hello. It wasn't as certain as he would have liked to sound, but it couldn't be helped. Lore didn't know why he was nervous, maybe because this was more of her home than the castle and he knew it.

Laer laughed softly, amused by the man's shyness. She hadn't seen anyone like that in a long time - and she had never seen anyone who looked like him before.
"Well, don't just stand there," she smiled at everyone, "sit down, sit down! You'll need to rest, I'm sure, and you're probably hungry, too!"
She poured several glasses full of water and brought them over to the table on a tray.
"Here," she smiled, "drink up, you'll be thirsty after a trip through the desert. I swear, it gets hotter every year!"

Elnara took a seat gratefully and rested her arms on the table, and took a glass of water when it was offered.
"Thanks," she grinned at Laer, "it's exactly what we need, I think."
She pulled out the chair next to her so that Lore could sit as well.

Lore slid into the seat next Elnara gratefully. He reached out for the glass of water, thanking Nadya softly. He wasn't really thirsty, but it was only polite and it was a long trip. He probalby needed the water anyhow.

Laer smiled in response, then laughed softly. "There's no need to be shy here, sir," she told Lore in amusement. "We're quite at ease here, and with Gion around there's no one here that you should feel nervous about."
