Sun could feel Jack's breathing slow. His head rested lightly on her shoulder. Sun was glad that Jack was finally getting the rest he so desperately needed. She smiled as he fell into a deeper slumber.

Jack looked around him, he was in the Jungle, somewhere he hadn't ventured to before. He could see through the gentle mist that surrounded him a woman. "Sun? Kate?" he called. The woman ventured closer revealing that it wasn't Kate or Sun, but the woman he had seen in hie previous dream. She floated over to him and whispered into his ear, "The swift wings of the angel of death shall strike...and no one will be spared..." Jack backed away from the vision and he smelled decay, The woman was decomposing in front of his eyes. She whispered again, "Jack you shall be mine soon enough..."

(That's freaky O.o)
Claire opened her eyes slowly and blincked a few times. She saw still sitting on the spare seat plane and Boone had his arms placed around her shoulders. She smiled and looked down to her daughter who was still asleep.

((I have to agree with movie_fanatic. eek sounds like something I would dream. sweatdrop ))
Sun pulled Jack closer to herself and lightly placed her lips against his temple as he began to thrash weakly from a nightmare.
"Let go of all of your demons, Jack. They cannot plague you whilst you sleep," Sun whispered.

Jack suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of calm, and the woman before him vanished. He turned and began walking in the direction he thought the caves might be. His walk turned into a full on run as it suddenly began pouring rain. She slipped on a patch of mud and slid into a rock, his knee began to bleed and he winced in pain. He tried to stand, but his legs gave out under him. He pulled himself up into a sitting position under a near by tree. "Jack...Son..." A voice called out from behind him...

Sun continued to try to reassure Jack in his sleep as his dream seemingly went from frightening to calm right back to frightening again. She lightly rubbed his back in comforting circles as she continued to whisper affirmations to him.

Jack shook as he sat there, he didn't want to turn around, he didn't want to face the truth. A shadow eclipsed the little light that was shining into the jungle, he stared up into the face of his father. "How could you Jack? How could you do this to me?" Jack just sat there speechless, his lungs had lost the capacity for speech and his body couldn't remember how to move. He closed his eyes and re opened them...he was gone...Jack breathed heavily and tried to stand again, this time he was successful. He limped in the direction of the caves, and fell again after a few feet. He angrilly slammed his fist into the mud, and once again the light infront of him was gone. He slowly looked up into the face of Sun. She was smiling and holding out her hand...

Sun tried to make out the words that Jack was mumbling in his sleep. He seemed angry, guilty, terrified. Sun continued to comfort him long after most would have given up or woken him. However, dreams are how we process what happens in our waking lives. Sun decided it was better for Jack to fight his battles as he rested than to try to fight them on top of everything else while he was awake.

Jack slowly opened his eyes, he sighed and sat up straight. He turned to Sun and flashed her a bent smile as he stetched.
"thank you..." He whispered to Sun.

Sun returned his smile and blushed a little bit. She thanked God for the cover of darkness so that Jack wouldn't notice.
"Are you feeling better after that?" Sun asked.

Jack laughed, "With dreams like those...you don't have alot of incentive to sleep...But yes I am feeling better now." Jack put his arm around Sun, "How are you feeling? Your foot still hurting?"

Sun reveled in the feeling of warmth shared between her and Jack as he held her protectively. She flashed him a rare, honest, grateful smile and relaxed against him.
"It still stings a little, but it is not as terrible as it was before," Sun replied.
There was something about Jack that made her trust him completely when she would have normally put up walls against intrusion into her feelings and emotions.

((Well, I must be going. My parents are essentially forcing sleep down my throat. I'll be online all of tomorrow and through the weekend. I'll have more time to stay up late then. G'night!))

Jack smiled, "Well thats good to hear."
He squeezed Sun slightly for a moment. He realized most of the affection he was showing her was not unlike an akward teenager. Jack wasn't really the ladies-man in high school, he had his nose stuck in a book, trying to live up to everyone elses dreams for him.
