Which is basically the same reason as the USA's, theirs is just at the end of the harvest season.

Canada has it in the beginning of October, which is basically the beginning of the harvest season, Thanksgiving is the day of celebration thanking the Lord for helping with the harvest season, US's is the same, just a month later.
