Paradox watched her come closer. He couldn't hear her footsteps, but then again, his own footsteps were just as silent. "I came here to figure out how to secure it. So far, I don't beleive whoever came through here could find the castle before they died of starvation." Paradox said dryly. He didn't have a bad sense of direction, and he was having trouble with it.

"Unless they found someone who did know. I've heard people wander through these tunnels before. I'm not sure if any of them were any sort of cartographer, but they sounded like they knew what they were doing." She spoke very plainly. There was no point in lying to him. It seemed his loyalties lay with Katherine and the castle. If the safety of either was compromised because of the tunnels, Gabriel felt he would want to know.

Paradox looked at the ground. That would make things difficult for him as the general of Llyr. defense was his second main priority as General. "Your saying. . .if they found somebody like you." Paradox said, stating a fact. She seemed to know this place just as well as anybody else.

Gabriel couldn't tell if he was implying something or not. "Yes, someone like me. Someone that has infinite amounts of time. But I would not give them such information. Katherine has done nothing to me. I have no reason to see that any harm comes to her. Yes, she was hostile our first meeting, but I do not hold that against her." She felt like she was trying to convince him of something.

Paradox shook his head sadly. "I would be surprised if anybody gave that information away willingly, and I doubt you would be an exception. Some people have the ability to make even stone tell them what they want." Paradox said sadly, thinking of such people.

"You would be surprised what thing people will reveal. If the right price was offered, I'm sure someone would spend every waking hour exploring the tunnel system. Drawing out every tunnel, every cave, every cave in and collapse." Sadly, she had met a few men like that in her time. Mapping out the tunnels only to meet her. She had burned the unfinished maps once done with her meal. "In times like these, you must be able to suspect anyone. Even a best friend will back stab you for the right amount of coin."

Paradox continued looking down at the floor. "Everybody is available for the right price. It just depends on how far somebody is willing to go to get it." Paradox mumbled quietly to himself, talking of prices other than money. He looked back up at her. "To trust no one is to leave yourself isolated. to leave yourself isolated is to go mad. To go mad leads to betrayal. It is as dangerous as trusting somebody." Paradox told her quietly. His voice still managed to echo in these damp tunnels.

"You have no idea. I have seen men driven to map the tunnels to save their families from fates worse than death. One man was lucky his 'employer' had come through first and decided to pick a fight with me. Many dozens of unfinished maps I've burned. Who knows how many finished ones there are." Her voice was sad and heavy. While she hadn't been wandering the tunnels long, she had seen men that looked like they hadn't seen the sun for many months.

Paradox looked around at the tunnels. "That does pose a problem. . . " Paradox said calmly. He put his hand to the ground, and closed his eyes which were hidden by his hood. "The easiest way to ruin the use of those maps would be to redecorate the caves a little." The general said as colmly as before.

She grinned a little. the vampiress was sure she knew what he meant. "You'd be best closing them off about 6 feet from some of the entrances. Humans seem to need light to find things. And if they have torches down here, it would be easier to find them. They would also be weighed down with the supplies they would need." Gabe felt a little more evil than usual thinking of was to remake the system.

The general pulled the warhammer off of his back. He the head of it on the ground and spun it like a top. It wasn't long before it was pointing at an entrance. "I was thinking of something a little more permanent, and something that would force them to map the place again." The hammer lifted from the ground and smashed into the ceiling. The cave that The hammer had been pointing too was instantly filled with rocks. "Dirt is one of my specialties." Paradox told her calmly.

"So it would seem." The vampiress laughed. "I must admit, your loyalty is admirable. Anything to protect the Queen." Her smile became very soft. "She's lucky to have someone like you around."

The general began walking down another tunnel until he came to another fork in the road, picked one and blocked it off at random. "I do my job. Nothing more." Paradox told the vampiress. It was a miracle that he had the job in the first place.

"Then what about the vampire that was behind the wall of my own cave? I don't see how that would have anything to do with Katherine." Gabriel had to admit she was quite curious now.

Paradox stopped and looked back at Gabriel. "It doesn't, and it will stay that way. He's from a time before katherine was even born." Paradox said, almost heatedly, but was still calm.
