What do they do. The silver and prismic thing. Depending on how powerful they are, I may make it somewhat limited in ways. Or are they already limited somehow (i have never read about dragonborn as characters)

do you have the races of the dragons book?
prism has a light based breath (deals light damage) and is immune to blind-character must be neutral, silver is the good alignment of ice and has ice breath(deals ice damage) and is immune to cold. the breaths are limited to 1 per day unless you get a feat then it's once every 1d4 rounds. um. ice is a 30 foot cone, and prism is a 60 foot line....the damage goes up as you level, but i lost my page so i'll have to find it again. i like draconic and half dragon better than dragonborn though, from actually looking at it. the chart i gave you is actually better than a dragonborn should be because the softwhere is 4.0e, which is why i had to start it over.

Hmm. Sounds logical enough. I might shorten the actual reach of it a bit though. Depends on the damage. What is the damage of it for a level 1 person???
Other than that, it doesnt sound too powerful.
And no, i dont. I can download it though and I will go do that now just because I can.

there's the thing. there's a level disparity. in order to play from level one, a character who's a half dragon will gain their characteristics during the first 4 levels, instead of class levels, so he won't gain a class level till level 5, when he will be a level 2 in whatever class. which is how the people who made the books decided to ballence it. this holds the dragon-esque character 3 levels behind the others, making his/her hp very low in comparison. lemme check the damage for breath..
cannot be used at level one basically.

So what your saying is a character like yours is very vulnerable for the first couple of levels. Ouch.

very. but it goes away as they level after that.
look at page 69 -71 when you get the book. pay extra attention to 70.
then look at 147 in the monster manual, because when all four levels are applied in, then that will be the end result. one 70 and 71 when it says weak breath, it implies 1/2 the damage, which is at dragon level 3. you have to give your first level up to dragon, so when everyone is level 2 you will still be level one, with bonuses. you can get your 2nd level in it whenever, but if you do, you have to go till 4 before you can level class.
after the 4th level (everyone else will be level 5 if you do it all as soon as possible, though you will be level 1 in hp and saves) you will have a once a day 6d8 attack. though there is a feat that turns that into twice a day, 1d4 rounds apart. but it can never be more than that.
oh. the full dragon breath, which is what it becomes

there are two books the race goes off of, the monster manual, and Races of the Dragons. will they attach to an email?

Meh. Its just as confusing to me. At least that book is.
Point buy system. Hmm. You might have to look it up on google because I dont remember the exact chart off hand. Give me a second.
And for the map, go to the game forums and then click on Ailan. It is on the left. Click on the map topic and then click on the link. You will be directed over to where the map is.
And yeah. Everyone else is going to be using the pretty basic stuff. Except two. One is a warblade and the other is a blade mage.

Each stat begins at 8.
A stat of 9 costs 1 point.
A stat of 10 costs 2 points.
A stat of 11 costs 3 points.
A stat of 12 costs 4 points.
A stat of 13 costs 5 points.
A stat of 14 costs 6 points.
A stat of 15 costs 8 points.
A stat of 16 costs 10 points.
A stat of 17 costs 13 points.
A stat of 18 costs 16 points.
This how the point buy system works. In this particular case, I gave each player 30 points. Spend them as you wish to get particular Ability points. All abilities start at 8.

Yeah, I found that. i have it set up to not include race or class until you look over that stuff so i know i'm not crazy. It's a rogue set to follow the half dragon template on page 70 and 71.
