Because tuberculosis is such a romanticized disease. I mean, you waste away, get pale and skinny with largeish grey circles under your eyes, battling feebly against the white death? Totally romantic, and gothic.

Oh man, there are some days when you feel bad for yourself, but then you realize that everyone has those ******** problems. I feel so much better about myself right now.

We watched Amadeus, which had quite an impact on me.
And we listened to Prokofiev's peter and the wolf probably a thousand times over.
