Dani asked Querl about being Powell's roommate.

"It's...fascinating! It gives me the opportunity to have an anthropological study of a twenty-first century human metahuman male in the developmental stage IN its natural environment! Observing him creates almost as many questions as it answers!"

We're not on a...

::Wally sped off before Clark could finish.::

...date.

::Clark sighed. He hoped that rumor wouldn't get back to Lois.

Clark's superhearing picked up something a second later.::

"Hot dog!! AHAHAH!! right between the ---!! Ahahahah!!"

::Clark's head turned and he narrowed his eyes at Karen Starr in the next bleachers over. Maybe Karen could use a lesson in being nice to others. Clark concentrated on her shoes and used his heat vision to set them on fire.

He turned back to Linda.::

It is not for the best, Linda. Ms Watson is serious about offering you the editor position and I know Lois likes you despite her general...Lois-ness. You really need to give Hero High a longer chance.

*It was the bottom of the eighth after Wally's spectacular catch and Chris had one last shot of doing something good for his team. After the error in the first, Chris followed up with striking out twice and getting hit by a pitch in the sixth. It had been a retaliation after Poindexter plunked the cyclops.

Wally had surprised the Mashers with a bunt and beat the throw to first. Kurt Wagner popped out to shallow left and now it was Chris's last at bat...if the Titans could keep the lead in the top of the ninth.

After a ball low, Chris swung through a high fastball. He slammed the bat down on the plate stepped out of the batter's box. He needed to calm down and concentrate. Seeing his annoying new roommate with his friends and girlfriend had driven him to distraction. He took a deep breath and tried to center himself like Dr. Samson taught him to do so he could control his anger.

He stepped back in and stared down the Mashers's pitcher. It was a guy with 6 arms and a mean fastball. The pitcher shook off two signs before nodding at the catcher. Chris dug in and waited for the heat that he thought the Masher would throw. The fastball came in a little low, Chris adjusted his swing midway, and the smoked the ball down the left field line. A double and Wally was on his way home!::

Linda's was a little shocked when Wally though that she was dating Clark. I mean Clark was nice and everything but she preferred someone who had a better sense of humor.

" But we're not...."

Wally speed off and Linda sighed she heard Karen laughing in the background but ignored it.

" Look Clark...One, Lois and I are friends but it seems like all she ever talks about is Superboy... Which I still can't believe she hasn't figured it out yet?. Two my interest is in broadcasting not the paper and while both are journalistic careers they are two different things."

Linda sighed... the last thing was the hardest.

"Third, haven't you noticed I haven't been around much? Didn't you ever ask why? It's because those damn skrulls made me think my crazy jerk-wad ex-boyfriend came back from the dead and was acting like his totally idiotic over-possesive self and it completely threw me for a loop. He use to attend this school... he was the entire reason I swore off men. Looking around this place now... everything reminds me of him. You have NO idea what it's like to date a crazy person or to have your heart ripped out and torn to shreds, or to watch someone you care about die and then you think through some miracle they've come back to life only to find out it wasn't ever really them in first place."

Linda frowns she was looking down, her hair covering over her face, trying to hide tears.

" I need to leave. I consider you a friend Clark.. really I do. You're probably one of the best friends I have here. But I just don't want to feel anything any more."

Linda wiped the tears out of her face before anyone could ever even notice that they were there in the first place. She handed Clark a hot dog, got up and walked away.

"Do you see him?"

"Yes, he's right out there."

Billy was asking his best gal pal in school, Kate Bishop, is she could see where Teddy was on the field, and she managed to point him out. With Billy carrying two large sodas and Kate having hold of the large popcorn she purchased, the two teens managed to find a couple of free spots in which they could watch the game, and hopefully see Hero High win the first baseball game of the season.

Billy grumbled.

"I can't believe we almost missed the entire game!"

"I know." Kate said with a smile. "But that's what we get for volunteering for community service."

The two friends then turned their attention to their snacks, the game, and of course, hoping to see Teddy in action. Billy and Kate knew he'd been wanting badly to get onto a sports team so they knew what this game meant to him.

Achilles had spent much of the day alone, not talking to much of anyone. He hadn't even spoken sporadically to his sister, Cassie, or his best friend and roomie, Wally. Something had been on his mind ever since the Skrull Invasion had been thwarted, and his sister and Mysia both having been recovered to him.

It had been nagging at the back of his mind ever since the end of the school year approached. It wasn't something he thought he would be able to breech in conversation, especially to those closest to him.

"Of course you understand..." Achilles said softly as he leaned his head against one of Mysia's two trunks and rubbed it with his hands.

Yes, his loyal friend and war steed knew.

Achilles spent much of the day in the stables, and now he had realized the 'baseball' game had already started. There was a natural rivalry it would seem between the football team and baseball team, but Achilles would have none of it, and his teammates knew not to press the issue with him.

Bidding Mysia farewell for the time being, Achilles had made his way to the baseball field and stood stoically at the side of the stands to watch what remained of the game, and his friends Christopher and Wally, at their best.

"DA WINNAZZZ!" Wally hi-fived the rest of the team as the crowd applauded.

Final score: Hero High Titans 4, Monster High Mashers 3.

"Good game!" The team lined up and high-fived/shook the hands of the opposing team. Wally winced as Clawd Wolf squeezed his hand extra hard.

Coach Rogers gave the guys an approving smile as they headed to the locker room to shower. Wally bounced up and down, looking for Lois Lane. He wanted to give her his quotes for the article, but she was buried in the sea of student bodies. Darn.

"Hey Teddy, do you see Lois anywhere?" Wally poked the catcher in the ribs.

"No, sorry." Teddy shrugged. He was more interested in not being sweaty anymore than sound bites. "I did see Linda West and Clark Kent, though. Maybe you can talk to them?"

"Nah, I don't wanna disturb their date." Wally shrugged. It sort of sucked that Linda was dating Clark, but it wasn't like she'd made any effort to talk to Wally. Like, at all. Wally guessed she was over that whole Kid Flash crush thing. She'd moved on to crushing on Superboy, like half the girls at school.

"Clark and Linda are a thing? Huh." Teddy shrugged. He spotted Billy and Kate out in the crowd and gave them a quick wave before hitting the showers. "I didn't think Linda was his type."

"Whatcha mean?" Wally asked as he pulled off his jersey. "They're both reporters."

"Well, I thought Clark was into, you know...." Man, describing girls was hard for Teddy. He didn't want to sound offensive. "Pushy broads."

Smooth, Teddy. Super-smooth.

"Like Lois Lane, you know?"

"Hey!" Wally lit up. "Lois isn't a pushy broad! She's DRIVEN. When she wants something, she goes out and gets it, like when she saved us all during the skr-er, uh..." Wally trailed off. This wasn't the best guy to hold THAT conversation with. Wally hung his head sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring that up."

"It's okay." Teddy patted the littler guy on the back. He didn't want people tiptoeing around him. "Bad things happened, but they're over now, and we all wanna move on." Teddy kicked his cleats into his locker and grinned at Wally to show there were no hard feelings. "And you're right, Lois isn't a pushy broad. She's just....sort of the opposite of Linda. You know? For a reporter, Linda seems pretty quiet."

"Yeah." Wally had to agree with that. When Lois had charged into the skrull-filled catacombs of the school, Linda had been nowhere to be found. She probably went into hiding or something. She wasn't an action girl like Lois, that was all. It wasn't a bad thing, some guys dug the damsel in distress. "She's probably just more...you know, fragile. Maybe that's what Clark likes, someone he has to constantly protect all the time?"

"Maybe." Teddy thought about his meetings with Doc Sampson. Maybe it was time for him to consider dipping back into the dating pool a bit more. Billy had respectfully kept his distance over the last few weeks, but...

*beep! beep!*

"Oh! Dude! Gotta go!" Wally zipped in and out of the shower at super-speed and then appeared a couple seconds later with wet hair at Blackhawks. The owner, Zinda Blake was just checking her watch.

"Ah, there you are! Right on time!"

"Yeah, I hate being late. For anything." Wally grinned as she held open the door to her office for him.

"So, what's this big secret meeting about, kiddo?" Zinda hefted her bombs up on the desktop and had a seat across from him.

"My best pal Chris's birthday is on the 19th. I want to hold a surprise party for him here at Blackhawks. Cassie's in on the plan too...she's going to pretend there's this quiet, romantic dinner for just the two of them going to happen, and then she's going to fly him here and....SURPRISE! Whompin' party for everyone! Can we do it?"

Zinda tapped a finger to her lip thoughtfully.

"And you want to make sure Powell doesn't find out about it beforehand?"

"Yeah, it's gotta be a surprise."

"A covert mission, eh? I like it! Sweetie, you got yourself a venue."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2012 7:12 pm

At the end of the game Cassie was still in the crowds cheering with Dani, Karen, and Querl.

" That was a pretty good game. And hey no evil aliens or anything? Oh by the way you guys. Wally and I are organizing a surprise birthday party for Chris on the 19th. Hopefully Wally will get Black hawks booked. You guys are all totally invited but don't tell Chris okay."

Cassie then made her way out of the bleachers and waited outside the locker room for Chris. She hoped that he would be out soon as she leaned against the far wall waiting.

*Sniff Sniff...*

"Hey do you guys smell... Fire?"

The smoke was staring to make her eyes water a little that had her looking down at her shoes.

"Ahh Fire!! My Shoes!!"

Karen Then jumped up. up and away!!

*SPLASH!!!*

She landed in the lake on the other side of the field, putting out the fire and walking out of the lake with out her shoes that had by then burned off.. Then again she had lots of shoes and that wasn't her main concern.

"Great! Another wet T-shirt!! I'd better dry up quick before someone see me!"

The nearest building was Zinda's place and she charged in side like a bull with a red cape.

She could hear Wally talking about a party for the Dweeb but she needed Zinda much more then Speedy's silly party right now. And she wasn't about to wait!

"YO! Zinda! Fire, Shoes, Lake. Shirt, Hair dryer. Help me out?!" She hoped Zinda could do her this little favor while she held a menu up to her chest.

*Chris had just finished dressing. It was great that he salvaged his game with the double and RBI in the eighth but he needed to work on concentrating on the game. The fact that his new roommate could distract him so badly was not good.

He was mulling over how to work on that when Benjamin Poindexter slammed his fist into the locker next to Chris's head,*

What the hell!?

Don't think I forgot about you, Chrissy. You and I have a score to settle.

Anywhere, anytime, jerkwad!

: razz oindexter swung his fist back and Chris wound up a shot to the pitcher's gut when they were both hit by ice blasts. A ring of ice froze Chris to the lockers and another wrapped around Poindexter's legs, causing him to fall.::

Bobby!

Drake, you better let me up!

Shut up, both of you. If you don't quit this stupid rivalry, I'm going turn you both over to Rogers. You'll be lucky if he lets you stay on the team. Think that over, Powell, while you cool off. Ben, you're coming with me. I know how you need things pounded into your head over and over before you get it.

::Bobby Drake drug Poindexter along the floor and out the doors. He passed by Cassie and headed towards the baseball bleachers.::

Your guy is frozen to the lockers. I'd advise him to learn to ignore this joker if he wants to keep playing. Come on you....I don't know why I put up with you, Poindexter...

: biggrin rake drug a sulking Poindexter off.::

After Linda walked off from the game she went towards the weapons room. She went into the weapons storage closet or more like behind it to control panel in the back and entered in a series of codes as well as a retina scan. A doorway then opened up and there were stairs leading down. Linda went down the stairs towards some place called 'the maze' which was built by Mr. Castle. No one at the school except Linda, Castle, and Wayne even knew about this place, Frank Castle's personal training grounds.

Wayne knew because he helped build it, Linda knew because Mr. Castle was training her, and it was obvious why Frank Castle knew. Linda sighed, he wasn't going to be happy about her leaving. Only the staff knew that Linda's mentor was Frank Castle or that the girl packed a machine gun half the times and was trained to use several different types of guns. Linda didn't like the looks she got from people when they found out, she didn't intend on being a hero or a villain. She just wanted to be a reporter, to expose people to the truth, because she believed there was a lot of value in the truth.

In the maze she called out.
. " Frank! I've come to tell you that I'm leaving after this school year's over. I'm moving to New York." She didn't see Frank at all, but looked over by the wall where her bag with her guns were, she left her machine gun but picked up two pistols instead. She then heard Frank's voice but couldn't decipher where it was coming from..

" Giving up cause of what happened with you ex huh?"
" That has nothing to do with it!"
" That has EVERYTHING to do with it!"
" It's got nothing to do with you."
" WRONG! I'm your mentor it's got everything to to do with me."
" You know Frank... You're starting to sound like Wayne. What the hell you gonna do? Tell me to move on... To get over it. Be a total hypocrite like Wayne."
" No... but I'm not just letting you off here either."

Linda then heard locks and ran towards the door but couldn't open it.

" What the hell Frank?!"
" It's an override, only I know the codes now. You're not getting out of here... Not until I can see what you can do in the maze."

Linda then noticed a laser behind her and ducked before it could hit her. She was still gripping on to her pistols. She had a lot of anger lately, and if she found Castle, she was going to take it all out on him.

Cassie heard what Bobby said... apparently something was going on between Poindexter and Chris... possibly Bobby too. She went in the locker room.

"Cover up boys! Head cheerleader coming through."

Cassie then saw Chris frozen to the lockers and shook her head gently.

"Geez, Chris... Do you always have to cause so much trouble?"

The blonde haired girl then punched the ice, breaking it and freeing Chris. She put an arm around him...

"Are you okay honey?"

*The catcalls started immediately.*

Oooooooo...Powell's in trouble now!

Spank him, Sandsmark!

Don't let her smell the inside of your locker, Chris, or she'll dump ya right here!

Shut up, ya bunch of mooks!

*Chris shivered.*

I'm ok. I just let Poindexter bait me into something stupid.

*They headed towards the door.*

Haven't eaten all day. What is the cafeteria serving for dinner?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 01, 2012 8:30 pm

Cassie had an arm wrapped around Chris and smiled at him gently.

"Pizza I think. Congrats on the game... Same towards all of you guys!"

She yelled out to the baseball team...

" Oh... it's such a shame to leave you boys... I certainly am enjoying the view!"

"Wooo! Why don't stay in here with us sweet cheeks?!"

Cassie laughed and waved to the baseball team as she left the locker room with Chris.

"Oh, Chris... I met your new roommate... He seems...uh.. interesting."

She started to walk towards the cafeteria with Chris.

Zinda excused herself to help out Karen Starr, leaving Wally with a list of party supplies to shop for in town. This party was going to be so awesome!

Wally whipped out his phone and texted Cassie.

Zinda said yes! Blackhawks is a go.

I'll let everyone else know, you just KEEP CHRIS DISTRACTED!!!!
