"Alright Elekid, use Thundershock!" he swung his fist forward and then extended his pointer finger at Wartortle. The plug slammed his fists together and created a very large static charge. A yellowish glow surrounded his body. With a cry, Elekid fired this glow along with the charge that had built up in his hands directly at the Wartortle.
Wartortle's face lit up in the light and his eyes widened. "Dude, use your Withdraw!" Swinger called out. The turtle nodded, spinning in the sand and pulling all of his limbs into the protective shell. The Thundershock slammed into the top and richocheted off into a rock. Out of danger, Wartortle peeked his head out of his home. "Now use Water Gun!" The Pokemon's cheeks expanded and filled with water that he shot out at a very high speed.
Elekid squeaked and ran to the left. However, his opponent was smart enough to turn his head. It became a 'hit the target' game after that. Elekid couldn't run to the right because he would get hit by the attack. He continued running to the left until he tripped on a shell that had washed up on shore. Cold water crashed against him. When the barrage stopped, he stood up, dripping wet and soaked to the bone. He shivered.

Kilik looked over at the sun for a moment then slammed his eyes shut tight. It was starting to get really hot on that beach and the sooner he could finish this battle, the better. Wiping sweat from his forehead onto his sleeve, he clenched his fist out to his side. "Elekid, make sure you hit him this time!" he called out. His mind clicked, "In fact! With a Shock Wave, you can't miss!" Elekid blinked and then nodded. Charged particles began to emit from the two prongs on his head. He ran forward then tripped in the sand again, unleashing the Shock Wave directly towards Wartortle.
"Wartortle, show them again!" David popped his knuckles, "Withdraw!" Once again, the Pokemon disappeared into the protection of his shell. "You can still qui---" he blinked, "Hey, dude! What're you smilin' at, man!"
It's true; Kilik was smiling. "Hiding won't save you from Shock Wave!" He waved his finger warily at his opponent, "Watch!" The attack found its way into Wartortle's shell, shocking him from the inside. Elekid clapped his stubby hands together happily.
"OOOH NOO!!" David cried, taking a step forward, "You're kidding me, man!"
"Don't count on it!" Kilik smirked, "You saw it with your own two eyes! Shock Wave never misses its intended target!"

Upon hearing the command for a Thunderbolt, Kasiya smiled. She knew that Ada wouldn't be harmed by the attack, so she decided to take this opportunity to strike back herself. "Ancientpower!" Kasiya nearly demanded, raising a clenched fist and shaking it. Even as the useless electricity flowed over her body, Ada stomped her feet, causing a ripple of boulders to shoot up out of the ground, the last one in line striking the Raichu from below. Kasiya crossed her fingers, but the telltale grow of Ancientpower's ability to raise all of the Larvitar's stats didn't kick in this time around.
Glancing quickly towards the Snubbull as Keegan ordered a Spark, Kasiya blinked in amazement - Themis was evolving right before their eyes. When the light died down, a powerful-looking Manectric was standing in the Electrike's place, and Kasiya smiled. Evolution was always an amazing thing to witness. Maude took a step back, and so did Snoogums - the new Manectric was much bigger than the Snubbull now. Maude begged her Pokemon to try another Bite attack, but a faint crackle of electricity traveled across its body and it found itself unable to move - it had been paralyzed.

Keegan grinned, cracking all the knuckles on each hand in quick succession. Themis had the upper hand - or paw - now, and he was determined to keep it that way. "Let's show them the power of a real Thunderbolt," he grinned, although keeping in mind that Themis was probably somewhat weakened after his sudden evolution. The Manectric took a few sturdy steps forward, electricity seemingly flowing from every pore on his body. With a sharp bark, he launched a volley of powerful electricity at the pink Snubbull.
In the meantime, Henry let out a surprised cry, turning away as a boulder came up out of the ground and struck his Raichu, launching the mouse Pokemon into the air. "Quick Attack!" Henry bellowed, and the Raichu twisted its body in midair, coming to land safely on all fours before it dashed forward, ramming its shoulder into the Larvitar.

Kasiya cringed. "Don't do that," she growled at Keegan, swatting at his hands. "It's gross!" Adamantine let out a cry of her own as the Raichu barreled into her, knocking her over once more. The young Larvitar felt her joints begin to stiffen - Stryker's Static ability had afflicted her with paralysis. Without waiting for a command, Adamantine threw herself at the Raichu, swinging her arms, tail and feet wildly. She'd gone into the uncontrollable Thrash attack.
The Thunderbolt struck for a direct hit, and the Snubbull let out a little whimper and slumped over in defeat, electricity still emanating from its small body. "Oh no! My poor Snoogums!" Maude cried, holding her hands up to her face in dismay. With a little whimper of her own, she recalled it, glaring furiously at Themis and Keegan. "That's it, you've asked for it!" she growled, and pointed at the fountain. "Smoochykins, let's go!"
A strange, blue Pokemon that had been watching the battle alongside Ariel gave a nod, and hopped out of the water, waddling over to where Snoogums had once stood. Its body was rubbery and slippery, and it stood about four and a half feet off of the ground. "Watch out Keegan!" Kasiya cried, alarmed. "That's a Quagsire - you can't shock it because it's part Ground-type!"
"That's right!" Maude laughed, smiling pleasantly. "Now Smoochykins, give that four-legged ball of lightning a taste of your Mud Shot!" The Quagsire leaned back, swirling its tongue around in its mouth. A moment later, its cheeks ballooned and it opened its mouth, spewing out a steady stream of cool, sticky mud.

Nina knew that Metang could either be extremely strong or extremely weak-- it was hard to tell because Beldum evolves at an early level. Flygon was a little bit stronger than Krystal; Vibrava doesn't evolve to Flygon until much later in its power leveling stages, she thought. He's going to be my biggest problem, but then there's the fact that I've got that stupid Steel-type Pokemon over there, too... Oh, I really screwed myself over this time! IDIOT!
The rich boy chuckled. "Looks like you sent out the wrong Pokemon," he snidely commented. "Flygon! Use a Crunch attack on that Misdreavus!" The Dragon Pokemon flitted his tail around a little and flapped his wings, shooting forward towards the ghost. Crunch?! Are you kidding me?! Nina thought frantically, before looking toward her Pokemon in peril. "Don't let him hit you, Anna! Thunderbolt-- clip his wings, quick!" With a little nod, the ghost generated electricity inside of her body and loosed it towards her oncoming foe, the attack hitting him head-on.
However, Flygon was entirely unaffected and didn't even divert from his original path. He brought down a pair of extremely sharp teeth upon Anna, doing a rather undesirable amount of damage to her. "Wh... what the hell?! He's a Ground-type?" She heard a jeering laughter coming from the rich boy. "Hahaha, you didn't even know that? Nice job, idiot! How'd you get to be a trainer in the first place-- did you have to steal your Pokemon from someone like Team Rocket does?"
Nina stared at the boy with an incredulous look on her face. THAT STUPID JERK! I should have Anna shock him to death so that he'll shut the hell up! Her thoughts were briefly interrupted. ...No. I'm not like my father. I never will be.

Wait. If he's a Ground-type, then that means... She grinned. "Krystal! Surf attack, now! Anna, use Shadow Ball on Metang, quick!" "Right!" and "Okay!" were cried from her Pokemon. Krystal summoned up a chaste, pure blue swell of water whose crest easily surpassed the top of Silph Co. She directed it downwards toward her opponents, and made sure it crashed into both of them, dealing a very impressive amount of damage to Flygon... but as for Metang, it didn't seem too affected. While both opponents were recovering, Nina shot a fast-moving Shadow Ball at the Psychic-Steel type, and it did indeed hit, knocking the Metang to the ground. She grinned, expecting the addition of her type matching up to her attack's type and her opponent's weakness to equal out an impressive amount of damage dealt.
She didn't get anything like what she expected though. Anna and Krystal watched Metang lie on the ground, perfectly still for several moments. Then, his entire body was envelopped in a brilliant white light-- all that could be seen was a faint silhouette. Slowly, its head grew a bit, and an extra pair of sharp claws extended from behind it-- Wait. Those weren't just claws. They were feet.
By the time the light dimmed, an X ran across Metagross's face. He roared fiercely.

Hearing the two trainers shout at him Dante glanced over and gave them a small smile and salute before turning his attention back to the battle at hand. "All right lets start this battle off with a Fly attack on the Lendian and a Fire Blast at the... Porygon?" He still wasn't quite sure if that’s what the strange pokemon was called. Always ready to comply Apollo's mouth opened and a blast of white and black flames shot out hitting the Porygon head on. Bahamut however spun around some more before dashing up into the sky.
"Heh, your Fire Blast is useless against my Porygon." The nerd laughed in his annoying snorting high pitched way.
"We will see about that, unless it's ability is Flash Fire its going to be toasted." Dante said staring into the flames.
"No it isn't. Its ability is Trace." The nerd said with a grin. Upon hearing that Dante cursed slightly. " All right lets show them your Tri Attack Porygon! Lendian use your Lightscreen!" The Porygon's head spun around once more before a beam of electricity, fire and ice shot out hitting Apollo head on. The Lendian next to him lifted its hands up and put them in front of him as a screen appeared in front of both of the pokemon.
Upon feeling the hit Apollo let out a pained cry and stumbled back some. "Apollo lets not get hit again use your Agility and dodge all attacks coming your way." Liking the sound of no more hits Apollo glowed slightly before taking off his long legs eating up the ground and making him a much more difficult target. Just then Bahamut, who had been all but forgotten in the skies slammed down hard into the Lendian causing it to give a cry in pain. Happy with that Bahamut screeched and buzzed back to her side of the arena.

"Heh. I forgot to mention to you, Metang's been aching to evolve for quite some time now." The boy sneered. "Scared yet?"
Truth be told, Nina was. It was bad enough that her opponents were already stronger than her from the get-go, but the fact that one of them evolved during the middle of battle was just ridiculous. She recalled an instance when Sabrina told her that Oracle evolved from an Abra into her Kadabra state during a match with a young male trainer. She understood how the challenger that fought Sabrina that day was feeling.
"Of course I'm not. That just adds to the thrill," she bluffed. The boy grinned. "Good. Then, how about this? Metagross, Ice Punch on that Dragonair!" With another roar, the Pokemon lifted one of its massive feet and took a step forward, and then another, and another, gradually building up speed to run after Krystal. Obviously not wanting to wait around to be punched, the Dragon shot off in the opposite direction, her opponent chasing after her. "Rarara gonna getcha gonna getcha gonna getcha!!!" Metagross called, chasing after his opponent. He wouldn't be able to catch her, however, due to his size and weight; it kept keeping up with Krystal impossible, especially when she took off up into the air after having been pursued for at least a full minute.
"Okay, enough of this!" she yelled down to her opponent. She drew in a deep breath and shot downward toward Metagross, spewing both blue and red flames at him-- a mixed attack of Dragon Rage and Flamethrower. Neither Metagross nor its trainer had expected Krystal to have the latter of the two attacks; the Iron Leg Pokemon was blasted by both sets of flames at a point-blank range, and from there was too concerned to keep itself safe to attack Krystal. It retreated back near its partner.
"Wh... what?!" the boy yelled. "That's not fair! You can't do that to my Metagross!" Nina chuckled. "Aw, what's wrong? Scared?"

"Psybeam that Vibrava, Porygon! And Ledian try to use your Comet Punch on that Rapidash!" Like before a purple beam appeared in front of the Porygon and shot out towards Bahamut, who was swooping around. It was probably a good thing to because the attack just clipped her wings causing her to stumble some but other then that she seemed fine, she only really had to worry about Ice attacks doing a lot of damage to her. Meanwhile the Ledian was chasing around Apollo without much success the horse pokemon was just to fast and was making laps around the other pokemon.
"Bahamut use your Dragonbreath on the Porygon, Apollo Fire Blast that Ledian!" Skidding to a halt and spinning his body around Apollo let out a blast of flame into the bug pokemon that was flying head on towards him. The Light Screen cut off half the damage but with the two times weakness it didn't help that much. Plus it had been hit with the Fly attack earlier, the bug pokemon feel without much of a fight. Growling the nerd recalled it and watched as Bahamut released a breath of blue fire at his Porygon. The attack hit head on causing the pokemon to make a sort of computing noise and falling somewhat.
"Porygon we are not going without a fight! Use Recover!" Upon hearing that the Porygon glowed somewhat and when the light stopped all of his health had been returned causing it to look good as new. "All right now lets use Tri Attack again only this time on the Vibrava!"
"Apollo use Take Down! Try to knock its aim off!" Dante cried out as he watched the Porygon charge its attack up. Apollo dashed forward in an attempt to do as ordered, they would just have to see whether the beam fired or Apollo attacked first.

"Well that bug pokemon was easy enough." Mag muttered. "Then again most bug pokemon aren't too greaty unfortunately." he noted.
"Way to go Dante!" Linalee cheered giving him a thumbs up. "The match is in the bag now!" she added sticking her tongue out at the other trainer as he ordered his pokemon to use 'Recover.'

Wartortle pushed his legs and head out of the shell, then stood up slowly. He wobbled, feeling a bit dizzy from the strength of Elekid's attack. How could a Pokemon so small have so much built up energy? David ran his hand through his blonde hair. "C'mon, Wartortle! Use Bite!" The turtle reared up and jumped towards Elekid.
The teeth of his opponent sunk into his very small arm. A shrill whine came from Elekid and he pulled his arm free. He whimpered, and tended to the wound with a soft rub. He then growled, remembering Kilik had said that Wartortle was just as evil as Napalm. Kilik shook his head. This'll be it. I can tell his Wartortle isn't up for going on much longer. "Elekid!" Kilik called, glancing over at Rena then back to the battle, "Finish this with another Shock Wave!" The boy punched his fists together, an action that Elekid imitated. Static burst from his body in another unavoidable Shock Wave.
"No way, man!" David cried. The attack connected straight to the Pokemon's forehead. Wartortle felt the electricity course through his body and he fell to the ground with a thud, knocked out cold. "You're kidding!" he kicked sand, "This dude's the real deal!" He took Wartortle's Pokeball and recalled him, tucking it away into his pocket. "You're good, bro. I'll admit to that. Just next time you're chillin' on the beach..." Swinger looked out into the water, "Make sure you don't bring a brother in on the surf, ya'know?" He ran out towards the water and dove in, kicking and swimming to wherever it was he had come from.
Kilik blinked and crossed his arms over his chest. "Okay..." he chuckled slightly. Elekid ran over to his trainer and scampered up to his head, laying down in his usual spot. He smiled; he defeated the evil.

Mary-Anne's eye for detail did not miss the strain in Ky's voice, nor the tears that Ky forced back so bravely. Well, then again, just about anyone could see the tell-tale streak that his tears had left behind. But maybe. . . Well, maybe moving along immediately was the best thing to do. Crenu, wherever he had gone, had his own mission that did not involve them -- what could they do about that? Only perhaps wish him well -- hopefully, things would be okay for him. . . Hopefully, he wouldn't let that hunger for power devour him over. Once again, the last words he had spoken to her came to her, but she shook it off after glancing down at Daemyn. She realized another point just then -- he might've dismissed friendship, but he still definately cared for Ky. Why else would he ask her to watch him?
She didn't think she'd actually need to, though. He was a good, strong fellow, and his strength gave her strength. "Mm. . . Maybe." Her smile did not feel quite right or full-hearted, what with the events of what just happened still lingering in the atmosphere. She continued anyways, glancing down at the Phanpy with an apologetic look (after all, she'd pretty much ignored it for the morning), "Hullo there! Would you. . . Do you really wanna stay with us?"
The Phanpy nodded, after a moment's deliberation. She had only met two or three trainers before M.A., but neither had been quite as nice as this one. Besides that, trainers meant battle, and how she loved battles. . . The little elephant had wanted to have a trainer one day or another.
Daemyn growled from his perch. The Phanpy gave him an innocent look. She'd want to battle him first, too; M.A. could see that. A real battle, not a wrestling match.
Her grin came a bit more naturally now, after having watched the two and forgotten things and things. Glancing up at Ky again, however, she could not help but let concern flow freely across her face. After a moment of silence, she quietly said, "Y'know, if you ever want to talk or anything, I'm all ears. If you don't, that's cool too."

The rich boy didn't take kindly to Nina's sarcasm. "Flygon! Use Dragon Claw on that Dragonair! Make sure you hit it this time!" The Mystic Pokemon slowly lifted into the air, its wings fluttering as quickly and obnoxiously as a locust's, before rocketing off at Krystal. He had both arms directly at his sides, claws shining brightly. "Dragon Claw-- are you kidding me?! Krystal, get out of the way, now!" Nina's order was in vain, however, as the Flygon had raked his claws across Krystal's front no sooner than the words had left the girl's mouth. The dragon took quite a beating and was slammed onto the ground-- that attack had been more painful than was anticipated. She shook off what she could, which in reality wasn't much, and recovered.
"Krystal! We're going to make him pay for that-- use one of your special Typhoon attacks! Make it wide enough to hit both opponents!" The boy looked on in confusion. "Typhoon... what? What's that?" Krystal grinned. She knew what it was. Spinning around, she summoned up a Twister that seemed to eclipse the ever-so-slowly setting afternoon sun. Directing the attack toward her opponents, it ripped and tore across the ground, leaving marks in its wake. Before it struck, however, Krystal summoned up another colossal wave of water, blasting it into the Twister, mixing to form her Typhoon. Gravity sucked Flygon and Metagross into the swirling mass, while Nina's opponent stared on in shock. "What?! That can't be legal! You can't do that; you're cheating, you idiot!" Despite whatever he called her, the boy watched his Pokemon being shot out of the natural disaster-- Metagross came first, landing on his feet but visibly hurt.
Flygon was next. His landing had no grace whatsoever-- he crashed into the ground and skidded forward several meteres, entirely unconscious due to his weaknesses to the customized attack.
Nina grinned as she watched the Flygon get recalled. "And, guess what? I still have another attack to take! Anna, Shadow Ball!" Glad to be able to get revenge on the Pokemon, she shot a fast-moving ball of black energy at the quadruped.
"Metagross, fire back with a Shadow Ball of your own! Don't you dare go down without a fight!" the boy commanded, and he watched his Pokemon shake off its dizziness to blast an identical ball towards Anna.
Both Pokemon were struck.

Having been weakened by his evolution, there was little Themis could do to avoid being sprayed by the Mud Shot. He slumped to one knee, his chest heaving as his body shimmered with a faint blue light. The attack had reduced his speed, helping to further his fatigue. "You can stop if you want to," Keegan told him frowning mostly due to the type disadvantage. Somehow he knew, though, that even if his second Pokemon were to fail them, Kasiya would most likely put up a good enough fight with someone stronger, like Ariel or Fang. Themis merely shook his head, and got to his feet, growling. "If so, then try another Bite attack," Keegan told him calmly. With shaky steps, the Manectric headed towards the Raichu, snarling.
At the same time, Stryker wasn't faring too well against the berserker Larvitar; her Guts ability had amplified her power once she'd become paralyzed. Watching the weakened Manectric amble towards his Pokemon, Henry called for Stryker to attack Themis in order to disrupt the Manectric's attack, and the Raichu, glad to get away from the crazed Adamantine, shot off like a rocket, ramming its full weight into Themis. He uttered a low growl, and collapsed onto his stomach, unable to continue. Keegan nodded solemnly and recalled him, holding the Poke Ball to his chest as he decided whom to send out in his stead. He glanced behind him, noting that Althena and the Wooper were no longer fighting each other. "You're up," he told the young Psyduck, who (after a bit of help) hopped out of the water and waddled onto the field, holding her head in her hands. "Let's start big," he told her. "Surf attack!"
Althena shot a glance towards the fountain, raising one of her arms as she did so. A bluish light emanated from her palm as she raised it, drawing with her a channel of water from the fountain. A tidal wave formed very quickly at her command, having an immediate water source helped a lot. Glaring at the Quagsire and Raichu, the latter staring with wide, terrified eyes, Althena narrowed her eyes into tiny slits, and made a slashing motion at the duo with her shimmering, blue hand. As though a dam had burst apart, the water shot off towards them at an alarming speed, slamming into them both with a forceful, deafening crash.
