He winced at the floodlights, holding up a hand to block the light from his eyes. He felt small jolts of electricity as they radiated off of Elekid. "Don't badmouth my Pokemon!" Kilik growled, "He just hatched!" The boy clenched his teeth and then loosened the clenched fists he had by his sides. "I'm not here to act big and tough like last time," he explained, "I'm here for a rematch and I'm not leaving until I get that Thunder badge!" Kilik yanked a Pokeball out of his pocket. He tossed it upwards and added to the brightness of the room for a split second. From the ball came his trusted Flareon. It spied the Jolteon sitting by Surge and let out a bark.
"So?" he laughed, "Are we gonna play or what?" He smiled.

Flannery winced slightly, Beacon's randomness was not helping Mike's cause at all. "Quickly, Camerupt!" the gym leader called. "Strike it while it's distracted!"
Camerupt reared back its large head and opened its mouth, loosing a Flamethrower at the celebrating Ampharos.

"Fer your information," Surge boomed, his voice reverberating off the walls and echoing throughout the gym, "I wasn't badmouthing 'im." He uncrossed his legs, resting his large, meaty hands on both knees as he locked his gaze with Kilik's. "He's just a little runt now, but he'll grow. An' besides," he went on, now rising from his seat, his silhouette enhanced by the floodlights, making him appear larger than life. "I admire a man who acknowledges the prowess of electric Pokemon." He placed specific emphasis on the word man, a grin spreading across his face.
The Jolteon that rested by his feet also started to rise, its spiked fur standing on end and static bolts rippling across its limber body as it returned Flareon's bark with a sharp one of its own. "Get down, Flash. This ain't yer fight. I'd hate to think of what'd happen if I let you in a gym battle without her permission." Flash gave a bit of a growl, but returned to a sitting position, allowing its bristled fur to relax. Surge took a mighty step down, his large, black, steel-toed boots thundering with each stride. "One on one," he nodded. He reached into his pocket, and then flicked his wrist, sending a Pokeball flying through the air. It burst open as it landed, revealing none other than Surge's loyal Raichu. He rubbed his paws together, static crackling from its every pore. "Let's dance!"

Beacon's jubilations were met with a scorching hot stream of fire to the face. "Eeee!" He shrieked as the skin on his face heated up. Thankfully his reflexes weren't slow like usual and he managed to drop to the ground, evading a small margin of the attack.
Mike let out a happy cry, a responsive Beacon was not something he was blessed with too often. "Your electric attacks won't work on him, use Brick Break!" He commanded, his Pokemon already starting the attack.
The Ampharos charged forward, a rather out of place scowl on him. His flipper tore through the air, striking the Camerupt square on the forehead.

Her permission? he thought. So the Jolteon didn't belong to him. Then...who did it belong to? He snapped back into reality, realizing what had just happened. One on one?! Kilik took a step back, clenching his teeth and fist. It wasn't what he expected. The boy stared down the Raichu intently and then closed his eyes. Raichu...a single type Electric Pokemon. As much as I'd love to use Flareon...I can't risk a loss. He pulled the Park Ball out of his pocket.
Flareon looked at its trainer in disbelief. He really wanted to battle. However, it sat idly next to Kilik, staring angerily at Jolteon. The small Pokemon remembered back to when it first had the choice to evolve as an Eevee. Although it strongly considered becoming a Jolteon, Flareon was proud of the Fire-type it had become.
Kilik threw the ball upwards. "It's play time!" he laughed. It burst open in the air and revealed a Scizor. However, yellow sparkles jettsoned from around the body of this Pokemon. The green Scizor took a step forward, closing her pinchers menacingly. "Like her?" Kilik smiled at Surge, feeling less shaky about it than before.

"It'll take more than that to bring down Camerupt!" Flannery smiled, nodding to her Pokemon. Camerupt may be newly evolved, but he's still pretty tough! she thought. Camerupt shook its head, shrugging off the attack and snorting in anger. "Let's up the ante a bit! Magnitude!"
Camerupt gave another loud snort, wisps of smoke puffing out of his nostrils as he rose up on his hind hooves, and then slammed down his front legs on the ground with a force that shook the whole gym. Flannery had steadied herself, knowing what was coming as the shockwave rippled through the ground.

Giovanni stood above the newly repaired Gym floor, looking down at a sole trainer that was inside the Trainer's box. Giovanni had his hand in his pocket and he stared down from his window with cold eyes. He removed a ball from his pocket and pressed down on the button, enlarging it to fit his grasp. "A three on three sounds fine to me," Giovanni said, "The Earth Badge is yours...if you can defeat me." The man held up the ball. "Think you're up to that challenge?"
The boy gulped and pulled a Pokeball from his belt. This was the last badge he needed to advance to the Pokemon League. "I'm up and over it!" he barked, flicking his wrist and landing a Charizard onto the arena. "I started out with Charmander and we've been through more than anyone! The bond we share is unbeatable!"
Giovanni merely smirked and threw his Pokeball to the ground. From it came a large Rhydon. It let out a massive roar. "Although you share a bond," the man snapped his fingers and pointed at the Charizard, "bonds are only as strong as the ones who make them!" Rhydon stomped its foot on the Gym floor, itching to attack its opponent. "Now, enough idle chit-chat. The cards have been dealt," the man shrugged, "And the chips are on the table."

"Impressive," Surge nodded, folding his arms across his broad chest. "Let this battle commence, then." Flash gave a shrill bark of approval from the sidelines, choosing not to look at the Flareon who was glaring at him for no particular reason. "Alright Raichu," Surge bellowed, his voice going deeper. "Let's do this right! Slow 'er down with a Thunder Wave!"
The speedy Raichu immediately complied, generating a weak, yet effective electrical current that streaked towards the larger Scizor, crackling with energy.

"Charizard.." he grumbled, "No! You're wrong! Er..Charizard! Use Flamethrower!" The lizard reared its head back and a ball of flame formed at its mouth. As it shot its head forward, the ball became a stream and shot directly forward at Rhydon. The boy ran his thumb across his nose. "Let's see your Rhydon stand up to that!" he laughed.
Giovanni's sly smirk could be seen in the flames that reflected off Rhydon's protective armor. The man shook his head. "That's not how the game is played.." He snapped his fingers again, "In order to win, you must play your opponent's weaknesses! Rhydon, attack him with a Rollout.." At this, Rhydon curled into a ball (a rather lopsided one) and rolled towards the Charizard. "Rock-type attacks do wonderfully against Fire- and Flying-type Pokemon..." he let out a soft chuckle and slipped his hand back into his pocket.
"Charizard! Look out!" The lizard tried to move out of the way before it was hit square in the stomach by the rolling Rhydon. It opened its mouth and let out a roar of pain, saliva spraying outward. The Charizard gripped the opposing Pokemon tightly. "Throw it with Seismic Toss!" the boy called out. Charizard flew to the top of the Gym, still holding Rhydon and throwing it down to the ground with a mighty crash.

Kilik took a step back, biting his lower lip. The boy looked at his green Scizor and gulped. "Scizor! Attack with a Slash! And be sure to avoid that Thunder Wave!" The bug lifted its head and sighed. Surely, she felt she was too good for this. However, she complied. The Pokemon jumped forward with her claws extended.
"Scizor!" she cried out agressively. She had swerved to the right to avoid the oncoming Thunder Wave, but her foot clipped it and she fell to the floor with a thud. It didn't take her long to stand back up and continue her assault.
Kilik scratched the back of his head. Seeing his Scizor trip like that was somewhat embarassing.

The sun had started to set over the skies of Vermilion, and Mai and Sirrus touched down softly. She silently recalled the dragon Pokemon, clipping his Pokeball onto the strap that ran diagonally down the front of her body. She held a small device up to her ear, and said in a hushed voice "Silver One, what's your position?"
"We're in," came the static-filled reply. "Ready and waiting for your orders."
"Good. Start the procedure, and I'll be there soon." She clicked off the device and stowed it away, smiling to herself as she walked swiftly in the direction she'd been told. "Won't be long now," the admin smiled to herself. "Giovanni, I hope this makes you happy." She swiftly made her way to the target destination on foot, as to not draw any unnecessary attention to the site. She was met by the leader of the Silver Squad, who then proceeded to inform her of their progress, and how they’d come to be in their current position.
"And you just happened to overhear the old codgers' talking about it?" she asked, still in slight disbelief.
"That's right, Ma'am. It matched the research we'd been doing on the whereabouts of the relic, and when we moved in to investigate, the reports were right on the money."
"Excellent," Mai grinned, rubbing her hands together. "Continue to excavate, but be careful. This ramshackle cave could collapse at any moment, so use extreme caution."
"Right."
Mai ventured back towards the entrance of Diglett's Cave, feeling slightly uneasy over the ordeal. It was then that her phone rang quietly. "What is it?" she barked, her lips forming a frown as she was told there were several people headed this way - unexpected visitors. She sighed as she turned her phone off, and released Serenity. "Well, my dear, shall we greet our guests?" The Espeon nodded, a sly glint forming in her shining eyes.

After a bit more talking Mag finally split up with the new trainer Jerry. They exchanged numbers and agreed that it would be fun to battle sometime in the future once Jerry and Kabuto had gotten some training in.
Sunfire appeared next to Mag in the gloom of the cave. "Flare!" he shouted which meant something along the lines of "YAY I AM FINALLY FREEE!!!!" "Man with the way you talk you'd think I kept you locked up or something." Mag commented to his friend who just grinned happily at his trainer. The duo turned a corner and noticed a great increase in the amount of light. The exit was just ahead.

"Beacon! Get away from that tremor!" Mike shouted, flailing his arms. He knew that a ground move like that would be devastating to his Pokemon, who looked like he had only a few hits left in him. Beacon made his best attempt to run away, hopping as fast as he could in one large circle. If it weren't in such dire need one would find it amusing, his tail bobbing up and down. Luckily tectonic shifts are not speedy in any sense, so the Ampharos managed to get in front of it. Looking back to see his current position, Beacon overlooked a rock in his path. In an instant he was on the ground, the mini quake catching up to him. In an explosion of gravel the electric Pokemon was sent tumbling to the side. Thankfully it was a lower grade Magnitude, but that didn't stop it from inflicting some damage.
"Shake it off, use another Brick Break!" All this running in circles had brought him right back to his opponent. He smashed his slipper down on the Fire Pokemon's head, striking the same spot as before.

Squeak
Upon hearing the noise in the other room Toph gritted her teeth and pulled her pillow up over her head. For whatever reason the two people in the next room were being quite loud and it was preventing her from sleeping.
Squeak
Growling she sat up angrily and sliding of the bed her feet hitting the cold floor and her vission returning to her as she was in contact with the ground again. Getting out of the bed, she was dressed in a long white night gown her black hair was poofy and messy around her.
Squeak
Moving over to the door and yanking it open it slammed into the wall a few peice's of dust falling to the floor. Edge who had woken up a while ago as well hopped over following his ward to the room next door. The young girl grabbed the door knob and yanked hard, it had probably been locked but it wasn't anymore. When the door swung all the way open Toph's sightless eyes glared inside at the startled pair. "I dont know what you are doing but will you two please be quite! Some people are trying to sleep here!" She shouted angrly befor slamming the door shut and marching back into her own room, Edge following her close behind. ((You can leave it up to your imagination's as to what she interupted.))

Ryka nodded and jumped onto her bike. "So, he's giving you an egg, right? I wonder what'll be in it?" She stared up at the sky for a minute, then started pedaling west, towards Celadon City.
