Luke looks to Max and smirks. "Reading a poem."
Max smirks back and adds. "And crying."
"No, no," Luke said. "He's writing a poem. Writing a poem and crying."

*With her arm still around Luke, Aimee giggles but turns to Cora.* Just awful, aren't they? Making fun of Thelonious when he's not here to defend himself.

:::Cora just shakes her head thinking, what in the world does Thelonious Lord of the Dance even mean? She also imagined that crying and poetry stuff wasn't meant literally:::

*Luke scans the place, and he notices that he's getting a little drunk if it's taking him this long to find Chuck. It's not a big place. Finally, Luke sees him, walking away from a group of people. He clapped someone on the back and walked up to the bar -- paralell to where they were standing.*
THERE he is. *Luke sees Chuck call over the bartender and take out his wallet.* Oh, what does he think he's doing?
*Luke moves away from Aimee, telling her.* I'll be right back, babe.
*He makes his way over to Chuck.*

:::Cora, now very much aware that things aren't right between her and Max looks over at Aimee. For just the briefest moment, she glances back at him, and then away. She liked Max very much, and didn't like the idea of being on the wrong foot with any of her new friends... She decided she had to do something, even if she wasn't sure what went wrong exactly:::
:::She hadn't had a drink since she stepped on the dance floor, and took the opportunity...
To Max...::: Hey uhm- what are you drinking?

*Aimee notices the air between Max and Cora. She makes eye contact with Cora, trying to read her. A few hours prior, Cora seemed to need a "wing girl".*
*But the way she's leaning into Max... She looks like she's got something on her mind.*
*Aimee makes her decision. She arches her neck to a table close by. She sees a familiar face and says.* I believe ... I see someone from my Literature and the Arts class. *She smiles at them and takes her drink with her.* I will be but a table away.

I'd like that.

*Max puts up his hand to call the bartender.*
--
*On the other side of the bar, Luke has caught up with Chuck. Luke pushes Chuck's wallet back to him.* "Hey, what do you think you're doing? This is your celebration. Put that thing away."
*Chuck looks at Luke through red-eyes and an even redder face. Even redder than the night before.* "People from The Crown are in here," he said. "They just kept buying me drinks!"
*Luke chuckles a little.* "Well, you deserve it, man! You're junior editor!"
"Junior editor!" he says agreeably. "********' eh!"
"What're you drinking?"
*Chuck shakes his head.* "No. No, no, no. You're not buying me another drink."
"Oh yeah, I am. Watch." *Luke puts up his hand.* "Yo, Kevin!"
"No way. I got this," Chuck insists. "I got this. I'm getting -you- a drink."
Luke looks over at his friend. ********, he's wasted. Since Luke isn't interested in battling Chuck over this, Luke nods. "Alright, man. You pick this one up."
"I am Lord of the Drink." *Chuck calls over Kevin, the bartender and says.* "Gimme two of ... whatever."
*Luke grins and says.* "Better make it a beer." *The only shot Chuck's gonna need is a shot of espresso tomorrow afternoon when he wakes up with a hangover.*
--
*Max opens the beer for Cora and hands it to her.* Here you go. *He raises his beer to clink hers.*

Thank you!
:::She clinks the neck of her bottle to his, as she had come to learn was customary by now, and takes a swig. Beer was getting easier to drink now that she wasn't as sober...:::
:::Cora props her elbows onto the bar top, one hand holding up her cheek and the other tracing a drop of condensation down the edge of the bottle... trying to focus on what she could say to him. Thoughts were hard to focus though, with that many shots in her system... part of her felt like it was just a good idea to start talking...:::
Hey Max..?

I know I probably did something dumb... back when we were at that first bar...
:::She wasn't looking at him... still at the drops on the bottle. But soon she was taking another swig:::

I mean-
:::What do I mean...?:::
I mean, I probably did a few dumb things back there.
If you could believe it, this is only the second time I've ever been out dancing, or to a bar :::with people in it... all from the same time in space:::
..and I'm kind of new to the attention.

*Max couldn't believe this was only the second time she'd gone out dancing to a bar. If that was true, that would mean.... That would mean that the only time she'd ever partied had been with them.*
*He definitely couldn't believe that she was new to the attention. Max doesn't really know what to say, so he just goes with the first question on his mind.*
Like never? You never go out in Canada?
