John was snuggling Vitessa, holding her tight in his arms and giving her another passionate kiss. "Good morning, dear.." And after that kiss. He checked his phone to scan his messages, most of them were updates of his connections, and the rest were just business statuses. "I have to go now dear.. . I love you.. I'll be a call away if you need me. I need to go ..for work~"
After putting his clothes back on, he then pulled her for another kiss. He knows that they are just neighbors, but he treats her like he will never see her again. Yet he needs to attend to something that is business related.
-Back at his house-
Upon reaching his house to freshen up, he didn't have the time to take some coffee since the meeting was urgent. He needs to go there alone with no bodyguards whatsoever. But before that, he called out Vince, one of his security to check up on the construction. "How long this renovation will take? .. The schedule draws near.. will he be able to finish it?"
"I-- I will make sure of it, boss." .. The man replied.
-Present Hour-
"Hmmm.. I wonder how Lana is doing right now? He muttered as he makes his way to the Cherise Shopping District using his car. Lana was a member of the Blacklist. He met her back at the times where he was still around in Zion City. She was a good and cheery lady. And having her around felt like having a well and trusted sister.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
By the time when he is approaching the shopping district, he turned on the radio to listen to some local news. And what got his alarmed was hearing the reports of ghosts, and ghouls, terrorizing the streets. In the broadcast, they advised using salt and holy water to fend them off while inside the house. John narrowed his eyes as he looked around the streets. It was eerie to see how quiet the place was. Not quite the busy city for now. "I forgot to listen to ze news.. zhis doesn't feel right at all."
He decided to stop by the Moonbucks to have some coffee or maybe a full breakfast if they have any. But before he left his car, he made sure to bring a small military canteen with him. And in that canteen, it was filled with holy water. It was one of the items that he keeps around after a priest gave it to him. He does believe in a holy and supernatural being. But he does not go to church anymore after the church he used to attend got bombed by his rival gangs. And John doesn't want innocent people to die just because of him.
Keeping an eye on his surroundings, he went inside the said cafe. [ENTER]

As usual, he enters the cafe and not minding whoever is staring at him as his eyes darted directly at the registry. "I v'would like coffee please.. ~Black.. . just the right size.. along v'with a slice of cheesecake.." ---
After paying to the registry, he waited at one of the tables that were in the center of the cafe. A secure location for him not to be familiar with from the outside in case of enemy gangs may notice him, and he can also have this space to have room for the next action if any threat may occur. Despite rival gangs, he also takes note of the local news. ---
'I have to send her a text message~ .. .' He grabbed his phone, typing a message for Vitessa while his eyes remained sharp of their vicinity.
-In his text message-
"My dear, be on high alert. Place salt around your house as soon as possible. Do not worry about me. I am safe.

↛Allof Freya's hairs stood on end, she felt bristled and on edge. This was unnatural, it was not right at all. Tuning into the news that morning, her blue eyes widened at the sight. Creatures that shouldn't exist poured into the city, terrorizing the citizens and forcing them to protect their homes with salt and holy water. She had taken no time to adhere to the cautions. Salting around her home and dousing in holy water, she closed her eyes and sighed, laying her hand flat on her front door and took a few deep breaths before nodding to herself. Grabbing her polearm and her shoulder bag, she slid on some easy shoes to move in and a light coat before making her way out of her house. She didn't have much in way of food in her home, and she'd be damned if these things were going to trap her in her home. Gripping her polearm to make herself feel better, she made easy work of the quick walk, fortunately not running into any trouble on the way. Standing before the Cafe, she sighed and wondered if they'd give her grief for carrying her weapon, but considering what was going on outside, she hoped they'd be wise and keep their mouths shut. Going in, she stood behind a taller blonde man, trying to look around him to see what they may have in the cases for sweets to snack on. Seeing a single slice of cheesecake, she smiled widely, excited she'd probably be the one to snag that delicious thing up. She leaned back and started to peer around the store, scanning for possible vantage points and weak areas to avoid. Being distracted, the person at the register cleared their throat when it was her turn. "Oh sorry, yeah, I'll have a tea with milk and sugar, and could I also have..." She went to point at the piece of cheesecake and found that it was gone. Wait. NO. She turned fierce blue eyes to the blonde man who had been standing in front of her and sure as hell, he had it! A defeated sigh left her lips as she turned back to the register and groaned, "I guess I'll just take a muffin then..." Pouting now, she took her order and went to sit down, casting not so nice looks at the blonde man every now and then, hoping he'd realize what he did. Though she really didn't want to make a big deal out of a piece of cheesecake, she had really wanted it.

After sending Vitessa a text message, he decided to send a short SMS to one of his business partners to move their meeting tomorrow. But if the 'bad news' is still around, their meeting will have a slight delay. Though the session is not dire if one fails to attend, it's about maintaining relationships with that particular business partner. It's not really hard to be a racketeerbusinessman. It is just like being a gardener, where one would water, groom, and keep monitoring on each and every plant in the garden. And what makes it rewarding is to see them grow, bloom, and stand out to their full potential.

Scrolling through his phone, he then felt like someone was watching him. He thought it was just a rumble in his stomach at first, but he had this itching feeling to divert his attention from the screen of his phone and check what was that gut feeling. He didn't move an inch. His phone still extended like he was still reading something while his other hand still has its index finger, touching the screen yet frozen. His eyes, however, pivoted in a random direction. Indirectly scanning what's in front of him using the edge of his eye. Like if one could carefully observe, he would still look like he was scrolling his phone while having a drift of thought since his eyes were slowly pivoting to directions that were not pointed directly to anyone in the cafe.
And there.. ~spotted. While John continued to pretend like he was still focused on his phone, his eyes were secretly passing through the phone and carefully observing the lady who seems to be upset at him. 'Have I met her before?' His eyes narrowed as they scan from her silver hair and down to her neckline. He coughed and then pretends like he still didn't notice her after lowering his phone.
He then stands up to grab his coffee while still having that relaxed composure. He did notice that the feline lady seems to be carrying a weapon. 'geeze .. I hope she v'won't poke me with zhat..' he said in his thoughts as he eyed her again but in a quick manner for him to notice that he was already aware that she was striking daggered gazes at him. He sat back down to his table and still pretends that he didn't notice her. Sniffing his coffee, a wave of relief flowed through his body. It made him close his eyes and tilt his head with a splash of calmness and excitement. 'Aaahh.. v'what a nice sweltering beverage for zhe morning.' he muttered after opening his eyes again to enjoy his coffee for the first sip.
He then grabs the sundae spoon that was provided for him to have that small scoop of that delicious fruity cheesecake. He lowered the spoon like it was in slow-motion. But then, he just can't pretend anymore of not noticing this feline lady. Pausing in mid-air, his eyes finally looked directly at her before setting his spoon to the side where it didn't even graze the fruity cheesecake slice. "Is... something zhe matter, miss?" His head tilted to the side slightly as he wondered why would she look at him like that. And he was sure that she was looking at him since nobody is behind him.
With no clue how he made her feel upset, he then added; "Enjoying'g our.. cupcake.. are v'we now?" He nodded with a small like any ordinary gentleman. However, at the back of his head, he is now doubting his safety since there were multiple cases where his enemy gangs will send assassins to end his life. Yet in this case, if ever she was planning to kill him, she could've done it right away for him not to even notice. Unless if she's not a professional? 'No. She couldn't be an assassin. Either way, I should not be too comfortable here.'

↛Tryingwith great effort to not stare evil little daggers into the man who stole(no, he didn't steal it dummy) her cheesecake, Freya took a piece of her muffin and angrily chewed it before crossing her arms over her chest and willing herself to stare at her tea, the one not so disappointing thing about her order so far. She could feel her skin bristling with the gazes of others around her, though she wasn't entirely sure if he was among them, or had noticed her nasty glare. She was being very childish, yes, but dang it she wanted that cheesecake and with all the bizarre nonsense going on in the city at the current moment, most of the workers seemed totally dazed and ready to flee any moment. On that thought, she let her blue eyes peek around again, trying not to focus too heavily on the blonde man again as she surveyed her surroundings again. From a defensive stand point, this place was not desirable, it wasn't good for going on the offensive either. After trying to figure out her best strategy, Freya's eyes found the blonde man again and she frowned, watching him just in time to see him go for a bite of the cheesecake, but he stopped. Then she realized he was looking her square, right in the eyes, full eye contact. Her face went bright red as she looked away. Well. That could have been handled better. Cursing herself silently, she fiddled with her fingers and tried to look anywhere but at him. Her damn stomach got her into trouble again! Her voice, heavily accented, caught her attention as her ears swiveled to listen, then she turned her embarrassed self to look at him. "N-no...No problem here. Sorry...Please enjoy that-" She nearly choked on the word, "Cheesecake." She finally sputtered out the word before she made herself into an even bigger fool. Her tail flicked in an irritated manner, but she schooled her expression to be calm, though her cheeks were still stained red with her blushing embarrassment. As he added in something about her muffin, mistaking it for a cupcake, she rather not correct him and just rolled with it. "Honestly, wasn't the first thing on my mind to order when I came in, but it's not bad." She offered him a small laugh and smile, shaking her head slowly with the silliness of it all. Man, her family would laugh at her right now for being so childish, but food had always been a strange thing for her with the marred issue of her past. Tearing off another piece of her muffin and popping it into her mouth, she chewed thoughtfully, hoping she'd actually be able to enjoy it and not be so irritated by it.

This Russian mobster still felt baffled. He tilted his head to the side ever so slightly when he noticed that she was gasping for air before saying the word cheesecake. He was trying to figure out what made her look upset at him a while ago. 'Hmm.. Is she alright?' His eyes then scanned to the pastry she is having. He is looking for some possible clues about this one-sided tension. 'Is her cupca- .. oh wait.. it's a muffin.'
He glanced back to the registry where the cakes, bread, and other sweet treats were displayed. He traced his eyes where he ordered that last piece of cheesecake. He was not really paying attention if it was the last piece or not. He just wanted something sweet to pair with his coffee. And there, he spotted a tag where it says "Cheesecake" and there was no more cheesecake left but only John's. 'Could it be? .. was she mad cuz I took the last piece?' he muttered quietly after slowly shifting his gaze back to Freya. From what she mentioned, it was quite clear that she wanted the cheesecake.
From that confused look, his eyes then relaxed, and a small smirk outlined the rim of his lips.'She reminds me of Lana..' He closed his eyes while he shook his head, and recalling the years he spent with Lana back in Zion City. She was a fun girl with a strong personality. Giving it a moment, he opened his while still having that slight smirk on his face. Gently pushing his chair as he stands, he walked towards this rosey feline lady. And with him, he brought his untouched fruity cheesecake with the sundae spoon on the side of its plating. "Here, If you v'would mind eating this for me.. I realized 'tis far too sweet. And I v'would go for a muffin instead." He said to her as he reaches the slice of cheesecake to her, waiting for her to hold it herself and do whatever she wishes to do with it.
Before he would turn around, he gave a sweet smile. A smile like how he adores her since there was something about Freya that reminds him of someone he met before. Promedaing back to his table, he enjoyed the very same muffin she ordered and adding two (2) pieces of chocolate chip cookies. And glancing back to her again, he dipped one of his cookies into his hot coffee, giving a small smile. "So.. tell me, miss.. . What's your name?"
... "My name is John.. 'tis a pleasure to meet you, Freya.."and of course, his words has the accent of a Russian.

Quite the acquaintance actually. John has never met her kind before. Though he encountered people with feline features. Yet from the looks of her fur, it seems like she is not from around here, or maybe John just needs to know more of this city since it has only been two (2) months since he arrived and decided to live here. 'Not to mention that he didn't expect to find his ex in this city.'
Anywho... Before their conversation would go further, John spotted a shadow who just dashed along the sidewalk. Its appearance was not clear since it passed quickly from the cafe. It seems they are here now. Acting like everything seems normal, he didn't panic nor giving Freya a sign of any compromise. He just gave a smile to her and nodded, but then he asked, "Freya... Do you know how to fight ghosts and demons?" and when a deathly phantom appeared from behind Freya, he quickly whipped his hand diagonally, spraying some holy water on the ghostly entity, making it flee. Then he would stand on Freya's side to defend her. "Tis not safe here.. V'would you trust a man who you just met, asking you to go inside his car for cover?" He asked and hoping for her to go inside the car with him. ----

↛Thisman was onto her and her foolishness. She managed to watch him as the dots slowly came together, from listening to what she said, to looking to the front counter. Well, she hadn't made it super hard to understand, but still, she'd met people who just had no common sense before, or social understanding. As everything seemed to fall into place with him, she tried to return her attention to her own food and drink. Why was this man so increasingly distracting? Huffing out a quick sigh before she took a long drink of her tea which was now the perfect temperature, she cast her eyes sideways again to look at him, to see the faint lines of a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. Arching a brow in question, she had no idea what would bring about that kind of reaction. Maybe he thought her reaction to the cheesecake thing was childish and petty. In which he would not be wrong, but it wasn't like she threw a fit and knocked him upside the head for it. Her hair bristled a little bit in surprise as he approached her, cheesecake in hand, offering it to her, saying it was 'too sweet'. No sir, you are too sweet. Looking up at him wide eyed, she silently took the offered cheesecake, opening her mouth and closing it a few times as she just looked at him. Trying to find the words to thank him, and also understand why he'd give this to her. She'd pay him back for it, she had too. She didn't get a chance to say anything before he turned and went back up to the counter, buying the same muffin, with an additional two cookies to go with it. Too sweet her butt. Those cookies were definitely sweeter than the cheesecake. Smirking gently to herself, she took the spoon and scooped up a piece of the cheesecake, popping it in her mouth and savoring the flavor. Her ears perked and her eyes showed the delight she felt with the sweetness that touched her tongue. Blinking and realizing he had asked her name, giving his in return, John. An oddly common name for a man who didn't look so very common. "My name is Freya. It's lovely to meet you John." His accent, it felt like home. An odd thing to think and feel, but they shared some common ground here. They were both clearly Russian. Though his voice had kept the accent, hers had not as she had spent so much time running and changing. A pang of guilt and sadness stole the air from her lungs for a moment before she took a deep, steadying, breath. Something though that hadn't escaped her attention though was how he looked at her. It seemed like it was a fondness directed at her, but she could feel the difference in it. It wasn't necessarily for her, it was more...Nostalgic...Feeling. Who had it been that would make him look like that? Probably an old flame. Laughing quietly to herself, she stopped and went completely rigid. Something wasn't right. Her ears swiveled and she sniffed the air. The cafe was a terrible choice to be she now realized, the scent of the drinks and food masked most oncoming threats. Her skin crawled and her instincts shouted for her to move. DANGER! SOMETHING IS HERE! Her attention was snapped back to focus on John at the sound of his voice, his question clearing up what her instincts had been feeling. "So they are here now..." Reaching slowly for her polearm, which she had soaked in salt and holy water, she nodded slowly, "More or less...Just a healthy dose of salt and holy water should do it...""And maybe a quick decapitation..." She snarled inwardly, but her upper lip still raised to show her pointed feline fangs in a silent growl. Seeing his movement, she snatched her polearm and stood swiftly, standing beside John as he had come to defend her. His next question actually made her laugh, the tension of the situation seemed to call for a laugh in her book. "If the man had given me his cheesecake because I was pouting like a child, absolutely." She knew he wasn't a bad person. It's hard to trust strangers, and she had gotten herself into trouble many a times for it, but if he had known what she was, and wanted her pelt to sell, well, he would have done it already. "Lead the way." She smiled up at him, showing him she was with him 100% until this sh*t show was over.

John chuckled as she stated her allegation. It was like saying out loud about what was pretty obvious a while ago. She smiled, and he smirked in return. Her personality and even her vibe make him feel nostalgic. He doesn't know what it is. But he read an unpopular quote once; "Even if you see every place in the world, there's no better place to be than in your motherland." However, a place is just a place. It's the people that matter.
"Khorosho, poshli!" (Хорошо, пошли!) 'Alright, let's go!' He exclaimed as he kept his smirk while coating his fists with holy water. John only has a bottle of sacred water, just enough to cover himself for defense or any he could improvise with later on as more and more phantoms are starting to appear in the atmosphere. John leads the way, exiting the shop and opened the door for the passenger seat. Despite the chaos in their midst, John still has his chivalry underneath his skin. 'Chivalry ain't dead' Expecting Freya to follow in, John slid over the hood of his car for a faster shift to get to the other side of the car. 'To look cool as well' -wink -wink' As the two are inside the black corvette. John initiated the engine, making it boom and roar before shifting the gear and kicking the accelerator, putting the pedal to the metal as they flee. vvVVVVRRRRRROOOOOMMMM!!! .. . ↛Freya'seyes widened marginally when he spoke plain Russian to her. It was...Enchanting. A shiver ran down her spine as she mentally kicked herself to put those silly thoughts aside, because at the current moment, they had a huge issue to deal with. Escaping without getting killed. "Отпустим, я прикрою тебя."(Let us go, I will cover you.) The language which had long since passed over her tongue flowed easily as she gripped her polearm tightly. She had soaked it in salt and holy water before she had left, and her shoulder bag contained a number of containers of salt and holy water. Following the blonde man quick, Freya kept watch behind them as they approached a sporty looking black car. "I'm almost not surprised by this..." Managing to stifle her laughter, she nodded at John as he held the passenger door open for her and she slid inside the vehicle smoothly. "Managing to be a gentleman even with all the chaos. Impressive." She joked dryly as she watched him slide over the hood of the car. This man amazed and amused her all at the same time, and she didn't know if she should compliment him, or laugh. When he got himself in, she covered her ears at the sound of it starting. A downside to being part animal, everything was SO much louder. After a moment, she managed to release her ears, a little more used to the sound now. Freya had never been in such a vehicle before, yeah she had seen them, but that was the best she could offer. Looking around the inside, she bit her lip. He was going to need to clean all the white hairs off his seat.... Turning her blue eyes to him, she listened as he spoke, asking where about she lived, and if she lived alone. "I live in the Doux district, and I do live alone..." With that, it was then decided she would be going with him. Not that she minded. Out of a lot of the strangers she had come across and met randomly, he was certainly not the worst and one she probably could grow to like being around more than just in a panicked situation such as this. Though the idea of going to his house was a little odd, she would rather not argue it. Really, if he wanted to harm her, he certainly would have done it by now. Turning her attention briefly to the scene behind them, she felt a knot tighten in her stomach. She did NOT want it to end here. Not after everything else she had already lived through. Freya's attention snapped back to John when the sound of his voice reached her ears, causing them to swivel in his direction. Surprised he knew that about her name, she smiled, "Not many make that connection. My adoptive parents, though we lived in China, were fond of the Norse Mythology and hoped my name would bring me better things..." She sighed lightly as rubbed her forehead, a slight head ache forming there. "Snow Leopards are highly sought after for their beautiful fur...And unfortunately us partials are no different....Everything I knew was destroyed, along with my early memories..." She finally stopped talking and sucked in a deep breath. What the hell was she thinking? WHY had she just told him those things?! "Sorry...I said too much..." She mumbled a quick apology to him, wanting to make him forget she said anything about her past, or about the snow leopard fur. His question though afterwards, caught her off guard. What did she think about gangsters? It was a hard question for her. She hadn't ever really come across a gangster before, so she had no basis on whether or not she thought they were evil. She paused a long moment, thinking over her answer before finally opening her mouth to respond, "I have never really known a gangster, so it would be unfair of me to formulate an opinion based purely on speculation and hear-say." She stopped and looked at him, wondering if there was more of a personal reason he was asking this. "People can do bad things, but not actually be evil in the true sense of the word..." A cryptic answer, but it was the best she could give at the moment. She squeezed her polearm again as she watched the buildings fly past them as she looked out the window, heading towards the Lumiere district.

He looked to the worker behind the counter, and gave them a small nod of his head, and in turn they respond. With his can, he makes way for a nice spot by the window in the lounge area of the café. Here, he nestled in the leather chair, where he deemed fit, before pulling out one of his novels. This one is one of his many favorites: "Pride and Prejudice". Placing his right hand to his mouth, lightly, Nicholai licked the tip of his index finger before turning the page to where he last left off.

It wasn't to shortly after he had entered, that a few moments go by before the door chimes again. He only cocked his left brow, hearing small talk, but never bothered to glace up. He wanted to read in peace. But as he went to grab what he had assumed his ordered coffee, only to realize he didn't order any, and took this moment to look up at the person behind the counter. Just before he could get their attention, he heard a rather cute shriek just ahead of him, and saw the two girls, and how rude some of the customers were for not paying attention. He pursed his lips together in thought, and decided to take pity on the young lass.
With a bit of struggle, using his cane, the gentleman stood up, Closing his book, and setting it aside on the table, Nicholai then made his way over to the two, offering his suits pocket handkerchief. "I'll never understand why the young often rush off. I wonder to myself What's the hurry? You're young, why not live a little?" Nicholai tried to make a light joke, hoping it would cheer the lady. Another new day after the whole incident with the so called beast attacking the city and the things that were seen around its vicinity, thankfully Lisa was only out for a while before she could rush back home and she couldn't be grateful enough that Andreas wasn't caught in the crossfires or even affected by it. From what she heard, he could have been visiting his family which made her smile at the thought of it. Family, something Lisa would love to have again. Maybe one day, maybe if fate brought it to her.
Seeing how she couldn't meet Andreas on her day off this time, the woman decided to go have a treat for herself in her time alone. Usually, she'd just go back to the candy store he took her to, but then again, she could just go back to work if she had nothing to do. "A cappuccino and a muffin...make that two muffins." she ordered, passing the server a smile, waiting only briefly before she picked up her things and headed over to a table for herself, settling down and taking a quick sip of her drink and began picking at her muffin while she idly scrolled through her phone, leaning back against her seat.
Occasionally she would look up and around, with nothing to do and nobody to talk to, she'd mostly confine to herself.
