"Uhhuh. Okay. Yes." Rory nodded, leaning away a bit from Jewels who was breathlessly spewing facts at him. "The dance has already started?! Oh, slivers! We have to give a speech! And commence the dance! And is this the ghoul's bathroom?!!!"

The clown gave an exaggerated shrug. There seemed to be a lot more shrugging and blushing lately. "Not a clue what happened there." She confirmed Ronan's confused glances. "She seemed quite upset though. Hopefully she'll talk to Ascreama or something? They seem pretty friendly; bonding over glitter and gems and stuff." She laughed loudly.
"Wow! I would never have guessed. Had you pegged as more of a zombie jazz kinda monster!" Meme snorted "That's neat though, we'll have to swap some songs sometime."
Her stomach felt all fizzy, maybe it was the sugar from the punch?

"I uh.. " She paused, looking around. "y.. yes?" She sounded a little guilty. "ItwastheclosestmirrorIcouldfind and... " She grabbed his hand. "No time! Headmistress Bloodgood iseagertogetstarted, come on! We have to go!"

"Okay, I just need to get Mar-woah! Careful!" Rory protested as Jewels grabbed him by the arm and sailed out the door of the Ghoul's bathroom (giving a sheepish shrug to Jinafire and Skelita on their way in), through the hallway, into the grimnasium, across the dance floor and up onto the stage. Rory didn't come to a stop until Jewels had practically flung him into his throne.
To the left, the Headless Headmistress, who had just stepped on stage and grabbed the microphone, gave Jewels a thankful nod.
"Attention, students! Welcome, everymonster, to our annual Tombcoming dance! I am very proud of our Monster High Nightmares, and of all of our students for their many accomplishments leading to this day, blah blah, Gory Gazette, blah blah Fashion Entrepreneurs Club, blah blah other stuff...."
As the Headmistress droned on, students stopped their chatter and all began to gather on the dance floor, listening to her speech.

"Zombie Jazz? Oh no, that's more my mother. That and a great deal of sireen Dieonn. " He made a face. "And she calls my music painful on the ears." He chuckled softly.
Doriana was right, he did find it easier to be around Meme. She was so patient and never seemed to take offence at things he said or did. He felt his stomach knot.
"Meme? May I .. ask you..."
But then the headmistress began her speech and everyone stood and gathered on the dance floor. Was everyone supposed to stand? He rose to his feet simply because everyone else had and listened politely as the speech droned on.

Jewels beamed at Bloodgood's approval, glancing to Rory and grinning, though there was still something of madness in her expression. A "You mess this up, i'll toss you down the bottomless pit" sort of a look.
She adjusted her gown and waited patiently for their head teacher to be done.

Meme laughed harder "Ew, parent music! I suppose that's better than Squeal Diemond.."
She seemed to be in her own world, laughing and joking about 'terrible music' when students around her started to stand.
"Oh? What's happening?" She looked around and noticed the Headmistress mid-speech. "Whoops!" She flushed with embarrassment. She'd hate to be seen as intentionally ignorant and followed suit of the crowd, standing closer to Ronan.
"What were you asking?" She whispered to the boo but keeping her eyes on Bloodgood.

"-And so, I present to you, this year's Tombcoming Scream Queen and Scream King, Jewels Underne and Rorrim Bludworth!" The Headmistress pulled off her head and swept it towards the two royals with a flourish. Rory and Jewels sheepishly stood up and took in everyone's applause.
"Thank you! Uh...thanks!" Rory beamed as a spotlight ignited on the couple. The light reflected off of Rory's cheek right into Heath Burns' eyes.
"AUGH! I'M BLIND!" Heath cried out. No one cared.
Rory looked at Jewels. She shrugged at him, as if to say 'go on!' But he really didn't have any sort of speech in mind. He looked down at everyone on the dance floor.
"Uh.....let's dance?"
There was an instant of silence....and then a TREMENDOUS CHEER rose up from the students! The Tombcoming Dance could finally officially begin!!!

He shuffled uncomfortably and once Bloodgood finished speaking and everyone started to cheer, He clapped a little then turned back to Meme.
"Well uh.. "
Now he wasn't sure he had the nerve, or really knew what to say. He gulped a little. Well, she was usually who he went to for guidance so may as well ask.
"Meme... you always give great advice..."
Least so he thought.
"So um.. "
He fiddled with his cuffs.
"How do you tell a ghoul you have.." He struggled for the words. "you have feelings for her?"

The loud cheering seemed to send electricity jolting through Meme's limbs. The hexcitement made her beam! "Isn't this magnificent?" She turned back to Ronan as the cheering died down and the students began dancing once more.
She took her seat again and crossed one leg over the other. "Uhm, if you're totally certain of your feelings and you're ready to tell the special monster then it all depends on 'your style'" She air quoted the words. "If you're shy, send them a letter? If you're loud and proud, proclaim it to the world! Though I do advice against serenading them in Mad Science though.. Deadtention is not romantic.."
She settled back into her chair and got back on point, "Personally, I don't think there's much point digging around the bag when you already know there's no popcorn left! Just be frank." She stated rather matter-of-fact but smiled. It was fun helping her friend with all this advice!

He frowned a little, none of those options felt right. He sat down again.
"Serenading in mad science?" He tilted his head. Ok, now he was curious.
"But what if.. you are not certain they feel the same way? Would it not just make everything... worse?"

Meme pondered for a moment, trying to think of the best way to phrase things. "It's hard to say. Each ghoul and growl will react differently.. Some will go loopy and take offence, which is crazy stupid because it's much better to talk stuff out then freak out, ya'know? "
She grabbed one of the many cups of juice she'd brought over to the table for herself and the others to avoid lots of trips to the refreshments table. She gulped some down and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.
"Others may just talk it out with you if they're not interested in being more than friends, let you down easy I guess? Some will feel the same but were too afraid to say! Some might come round to the idea later! And much more in between.." She exhaled deeply.
"Who knows! It's best just to.. Uh, dive into the deep end!" Meme finished with something the aquatic boo could relate to.

He fell silent, nodding slowly. Dive in huh? Well she'd never steered him wrong before.
He took a deep breath, and a great interest in his own shoes as he spoke.
"A.. alright then. Uh.. Meme.. I.. "
His heart was racing, he was fairly certain it was in fact planning an escape via his mouth. Diving into a tiny cup of water from a great height was less terrifying than this.
Why was this so hard?
He sighed.
"Meme, I have feelings for you."
He blurted out, and immediately flushed an amazing shade of deep violet, unable to meet her gaze or even dare to look up and see her expression. No, the floor was absolutely riveting right now. He could barely even hear the music over the pounding of his heart and reminded himself that he did in fact have to breathe.

Meme was stunned into silence and suddenly all the questions and compliments made sense. She felt denser than a Big Top's tent post.
"Oh.." Was all she could squeak out in shock.
Her eyes were fixed upon him and she dared to even look to see if any other monsters were currently sat with them the table.
Suddenly the music was too loud and her stomach fizzed like a sparkler.
"Uhm," She coughed "What feelings though?" She asked for clarification though she was pretty sure what he meant.

He struggled to get sound out for a while, just sort of gaping like a landed fish.
"I .. well.. " He winced, now he was starting to see why Doriana just sort of froze when he asked this sort of thing of her. Finding the right words was not just hard, it was impossible.
"R.. romantic feelings?" He managed, was that clear enough? He chewed his lip and went back to fiddling with the cuffs of his jacket.
