Kiera opened her eyes again and she slowly shook her head. "My two influences on the other leaders are dead. They're not going to listen to me anymore." She creeped her hand to her stomach that was sore. "They're going to be questioning me, too." She looked to the side then back to the ceiling, her face was unchanging. "Chris almost killed me, after I tried to buy more time by agreeing to go along with what he wanted because I was.. scared." Her bottom lip trembled. "I never wanted to kill Shortstraw and Evelyn." She calmed herself down. "Evelyn is better than me anyway. She's not a psycho freak. She doesn't lie. It's no wonder Shortstraw likes her so much." She shut her eyes once more. "I lost, sister. I might as well be dead."

*Veria shied and shook her head, "we are the Yokai sister, even when we fail at one thing we always do somthing another familiy cannot. If all comes to fail, I am your failsafe. When i say that i mean, the other countrys will think your great when i'm done." She giggled, "that is after they stop trusting you and i 'overthrow you' in a some act of batttle or somthing and take over the country for a while, it would still be yours, but it would let them realize just how great of a leader you are." She shook her head, "even more so i belive our purpose is to guild our little brother. He now has the intetity to take us on, he's becoming a thinkier, and he's starting to make his moves. If anything we can still be as of use to him. And on top of it all, even if the ocuntry thing goes down, your a mother. Of two little ones, and married to shortstraw, sure he likes evelyn, but she likes you too." She giggled, "you still have a life dear sister, dont waist it." She stood up and streached.

Kiera stayed silent as she laid there for a few minutes before she spoke one last time. "The motivation's gone." She stopped talking then as she stared at the ceiling and didn't bother to get her strength up. She didn't know if she wanted to. What Veira said all sounded great but.. She didn't know if it was worth it anymore. All this time Shortstraw had been her motivation to be a good leader and take over as many kingdoms as possible to make things safer under her rule. And she'd done that. Then there was Evelyn and Chris who made her question her love for him. Which as unthinkable. She wanted to punish herself for that. Now she had no motivation. If she wasn't doing it for Shortstraw what was she doing it for. Her kids? No she only had kids to make Shortstraw happy.

*Veria walked over to the chair and put it away as she headed around the table stopping over keria, "dont give in sister. Some things are worth more then others, and in times like you had been going though, you will question yourself. I did. And you were there for me, now my life is better. If you need me i'll be in the room upstairs, just send me a thought, or call my name, and i'll be here." She headed up stairs and got to her bed. She was tired, and her sister had alot of thinking to do.*

Kiera stayed there without a word until Veira came down there again. Kiera didn't speak, didn't think, and barely moved. She'd rolled onto her side once she'd got enough energy and stayed with her legs tucked to her chest as she thought. She couldn't sleep. Not now. She didn't want to. Nope, no matter how hard she thought. There was nothing. She felt hollow. If she was going to protect her loved one.. She'd have to keep him from herself. Kiera herself was a threat. And now that she'd created a relatively safe kingdom to live in, with no fear of Yokai discrimination, Dante could take over if he wanted to. Yeah, she didn't even need to be in the picture anymore. Same thing with the family. All the others were trying to bring her down anyway, and Shortstraw had Evelyn. No one actually needed her at all.

In the morning shortstraw was up bright and early, holding both of the kids as he walked in to see keria, "Where's mommy, there she is." He replied as he walked over to keria, "these two have been crying for there mommy all week. Kind hard to feed them too you know, since i'm a guy." He chukkled and set Evelyin down beside keria carfully, and as he went to place Theador, he suddenly latched to keria and hugged her. "Awww, see he missed you." He smiled and gave her a kiss, "you feeling any better hun? Veria told me you wern't feeling well last night and that you needed rest. Funny how everything seems to happen to you when your on those week trips huh." He pulled up a chair and sat down, "but as soon as Veria told me I came for you." He nodded.

Kiera tiredly hugged Theodor and Evelin and smiled weakly to Shortstraw. "I guess people know I'm more vulnerable when I'm away from my family." She shut her eyes. "I haven't got the energy to stand up yet... nor the motivation. Whatever happened.. it got me good." Seeing Shortstraw filled Kiera with a little happiness. She was glad to see him and the kids. She just wished she could stand up and hug him.
Dante wasn't already downstairs at this time, he was still in his room. He kneeled in front of a large bag that he'd begun to put a multitude of things into and opened it carefully, first taking out a series of important documents and notes, then coming across a box he'd collected. He carefully took it out of the bag and opened it to see all of the pendants he'd got from Sean. And he carefully read the latin writing that was inscribed into each of them.

*Shortstraw nodded, "well as i been saying all along, we are stronger when we're together. Thats what familiy is." He pulsed, "no... no Theador dont put that in you mouth!" He snatched a empty bottle from his hands, meanwhile teador just blinked at him like, 'what did i do?' Shortstraw looked back to keria, "take your time, heal up. Motivation will come in time, it's the bodys healing that takes the longest." He reached down to give her another kiss before turning again, "theador, i said no little mister." He pulsed what he was doing and looked to shortstraw... then tossed another bottle onto the floor like, 'it wasn't me, i got nothing.'

Evelin just stared at Theodor with a stern expression still in Kiera's arms, probably judging him like he was an idiot. Kiera smiled to Shortstraw. "I'm glad you're all here." She suddenly thought. "Oh, Veira did tell me that you and Cale killed Chris though." She looked hopeful. "Is he.. really dead? Like gone forever?"
Dante's eyes widened at what he read. He suddenly put the pendants back in the box and bag and stormed out of his room to Veira's door, knocking fiercely on it. "Viera! Veira I need to see Kiera now!"

*Veria opened the door and looked to him, "alright but no funny buissness or i will have to resort to things." She stepped aside and led him down into the cave, "Keria... Donte has a ergency to speak to you." Shortstraw looked up, "hey Donte." Meanwhile as shortstraw wasn't paying attention becuse donte came in theador crawed over and started reaching for a saw on the counter, just then veria's hand slowly and vary gentaly took his hand, "ohhh not your not ready for that yet." She bent over and moved the saw and other things on the counter as she picked him up and put him on her hip, "your a cerious little one arnt you. Dont worry Aunty Veria will be your helpful teacher of any questions." She nodded. Almost the whole familiy was in the room now.

Dante went right up to Kiera and Shortstraw with a stern expression. "WHY in the FREAKING HELL were you trying to SUMMON SATAN?!" Kiera's eyes widened. "You stole the pendants." She blinked. "You killed Sean.. and Shiro?" Dante pulled one of the pendants out of his pocket. "If you gathered all these the only thing they were made for is to free Satan from the lowest pit of Hell..." He sighed angrily. "What the Hell are you thinking Kiera. Are you even more demented than I thought you were?!" Kiera's expression saddened as Evelin started to cry and Kiera tried to comfort her. "You're scaring Evelin, brother.." "WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME?!"

*Shortstraw took Donte by the collor of his shirt and litarly dragged him out of the room and then held him by his shoulders, "i dought she could even answer." He was dead serious, "though going in there and yelling like that when everyones there isn't a smart idea." He looked to the pendent. "Though i understand your reasioning, for her to do somthing like this would distroy the world." He turned back in thought. Now that he actully processed the information, now he wished he didn't pull donte out of the room. Shortstraw then gave a nod as he looked to Donte, "alright this does outway things. Although dont be vilent, no matter what your talking about, there are both little ones in the room, and people that are hurt." He motioned donte back into the room with him as he looked to keria, meanwhile veria was playing with theador, walking around and explaining things as he would point to them, obviously in baby world at the moment. He pulled up a chair and placed it as he sat down and looked to keria, "hun I know i dont know if this counts under country stuff or not, but at the moment it seems like a family question, please take this chance to explain yourself. I understand your still hurt right now, and what you say wont change anything in this room right now." He looked to Donte, "and no yelling." He sat back, deciding to let her hang on to Evelin for comfort.

Dante scowled as Kiera shut her eyes and looked away with a frown. "It doesn't matter now." Dante looked down to the pendant. "I want to know why." Kiera let out a large breath and looked to Dante in the corner of her eye. "Did you look at all the pendants?" Dante blinked. "I read a few." Kiera nodded carefully. "That'd probably explain it." Dante's eyes thinned. "Explain what?" Kiera swallowed. "Half of them are for summoning. The other half is for controlling." She took another deep breath. "There are two main ones within the several that there are. The theory is that once you have them all in one place a person wears one to summon, and another wears another one to control it. From then on only whoever wears that pendant controls it." Dante turned his nose up. "What the Hell, Kiera." Kiera frowned more and almost sobbed. "I know."

*Shortstraw shied, "again power." Veria however stepped into the conversation, "a crazy idea wasn't it. Little does she realize this entire time that Saten cannot be controled, and even if there was a way, he would cheat his way out of it and just use the chance to distroy or take over the living world himself. See us Demons know some things, being we come from there." She giggled, "it's a fact that he is unable and is banished from the living world when heaven and hell collided in war millions of years ago. He blames the life that was created when the war ended, so i'm sure he would love to be freed fromhis prizen, and then take over here in the living world." She nodded, "but dont worry of course, as always, i had a backup plan." She nodded. Meanwhile Shortstraw nodded, "i sure hope sooner or later you learn that lession i been trying to teach you all this time. No matter how nieve you are, or what your goal is, control and power is never the answer." He shrugged though, "still you told the truth... in the end." Veria giggled, "yes well it's hard to choose things between two sides of a whole. Keep in mind shortstraw that Yang does hide things from Ying sometimes. And then again, Ying lets Yang, so it equals out still, as confussing as all this is, it doesn't matter becuse it didn't happen. HOWEVER!" She walked over and snatched the pendent from Donte, "I want this one." SHe smerked, "if they are scattered no one will be able to do somthing stupid with them." Shortstraw nodded as he took teador form veria, "oooo mommy's in trouble now see." He chukkled as he pointed to Keria. Shortstraw nodded, "yep it's okay though daddy forgives her."

Kiera stayed silent and shut her eyes however Dante still stared at her. "What is it?" Kiera shook her head. "Nothing. Veira's right, it wouldn't have worked. It was as silly an idea to control Satan as it is to control God's power." Dante scowled. "So what, then?" Kiera shook her head again. "Nothing." Dante looked away. "Whatever." He started to walk out of the room. "You're just as bad as mom was." He walked out of the cave and out of Veira's room to go downstairs and outside. Kiera just stayed exactly still.
