Daren handed over the keys, "i don't need a nap, not yet at least. let's go and get you a phone." he pulled his hood up to hide his face as best he could before they head out. "we should go to the mall. all the major phone companies will be there so you'll have your pick of the lot. sound good?" the mall was a bit dangerous simply for the possibility of them being recognised, but it really was the best spot to go. Daren would just have to keep his head down, not that he minded doing that in the least. he just hoped Tim's newfound fame with surviving a lion's attack wouldn't be an issue. then again, Tim being a little famous might be a fun thing to watch. Tim would probably get flustered, but Daren would make sure he was ok.

Daren grinned, "slippers? really? that's-" he looked away, "that's kind of adorable. sure, we can get you slippers. and whatever else you might need." the image of Tim trotting around the flat in slippers was one he wanted to capture in a picture. he'd have to send it to Amanda, of course, but he didn't mind sharing. he wondered if Tim would use them in his sleeping clothes. now that would be adorable. "turn right here. that's the mall down the street." he pointed and sat back, letting Tim find a place to park. it was still early, so there weren't many people here, thank goodness.

"it's Sunday," Daren reminded gently as he got out of the car, "most people are probably still in church." he shut the door, glancing to make sure Tim had the keys before letting it close and lock them out. "alright. we've got our heading." he grinned a little and head inside, keeping his hoodie up, but making sure to have his back straight. he didn't want to seem like a shifty character. he pulled a set of fake glasses out of his pocket and put them on as well, "how do i look?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows at Tim. "what group do you prefer to go with? phone wise, i mean."

Daren pouted a little, "damn. maybe i should take them off. be more intimidating..." he pulled the glasses off and looked at them. they were oval shaped, close to the same size at Tim's, but the frames were thinner. "Do i really look that silly?" he was smiling now, shaking his head a little, "alright, let's get you a phone and i'll put them on so you can take a picture." the Verizon store was down on the other side of the mall, of course, but Daren didn't mind walking with a laughing Tim. People didn't seem to take much notice of him, in fact, they quickly looked away, and that only made him smile wider. "note to self, wear a hoodie whenever I go out. it seems an effect disguise. even without the glasses. maybe we should get you one too."

Daren was surprised that Tim found stuff like that entertaining. he followed the other into the store and shook his head a little, "so, if it splashes on and then dribbles down, it will look like someone was killed? very nice. look, this one has the red stained hand slide, see?" he held it up, "looks like someone with bloody hands used it for a towel...even have a bloody footprint rug to go with it. what will they think of next?"

Daren picked up one of the soap and shook his head, "What is the point of that?" something caught his eye and he went to a different side of the store, "look at this. LED lights for your sink. it changes the color of the water. Red, blue, green, and purple. Pick one color or have it change randomly. there's one for the showerhead too."

The joke wasn't nearly as amusing as Tim's reaction to it. Daren grinned and took the rainbow light from Tim, simply saying, "Sold. we shall be kings together!" he bought the showerhead and winked at Tim, "we just might have to take a shower together. just to say we've bathed in the rainbow. Skittles, we need to eat Skittles when we do it." he hated the things, but it would be worth it. "i'll take pictures of you in the rainbow rain if you take them of me."
