<< Entering from couch >>
Upon entering the domain, Gabrian's first thought was that nothing had changed since he'd last been there. It'd only been minutes since he'd left, and yet deep down it felt like ages had gone by. At the moment when Red had fired her attack on them, the demon had not understood what was going on; it wasn't until he'd respawned in the couch domain, where he could see the fight taking place in the monitors that the reason had dawned upon him. Their teacher had tried to save them; she'd been expecting them to spawn elsewhere, out of the battlefield.... she'd probably been hoping they'd show up somewhere else where it was safer.
Granted, her methods had been harsh, but Red had always been a harsh teacher, to his knowledge. He held no grudge when the realization had dawned upon him, and as he walked over towards the large skull, he noticed students taking bits and pieces of it with them, no doubt in an attempt to remember their teacher. Following their lead, the nix took a moment to stare at the large horn and then aimed a hit at it with his flexed claws. He felt it crack under the hit, but not chip.

Spurred on by the fact the horn had cracked somewhat under his first assault, the demon tried again, this time whacking it with his tail in a whip like fashion. The crack grew larger still, but the piece did not fall off.

Gabrian paused his assault to look down at his handy work; the horn had a small web of cracks where he'd been hitting it, hinting at the fact it probably needed just a little bit more work before a small piece fell off. That in mind, he aimed one more hit, trying to hit the same place he'd been hitting before, this time with his claws extended once more, as they have been mildly more effective than his tail. As his claws connected with the hard surface, he heard a satisfying crack and a small chunk of the horn fell to the ground. After picking it up and pocketing it, the nix turned his attention to the large skull, where several students had been leaving their emblems. Feeling that if he took a piece of Red back with him... he should leave a piece of himself back here, he dug around his pocket for his own emblem, placing it near the others. Then, after taking one last look at the large skull and the ashes that had been their gym teacher, the demon turned around and began to walk away, wanting nothing more than to go back home and possibly curl up in his fish tank for a week. Where HAD Riyo been all this time?
After stumbling around like a disoriented penguin for a short time while the battle was still going, something had managed to catch her at the right moment at the side of her head with just enough force to knock the demoness out, and through some magical coincidence, the ghoul fell behind a bigger rock.
Though, she could feel something in her unconsciousness. A deep sadness as something... Left.
Upon waking up, it seemed to stick with her.
As the feline slowly opened her eyes, she realized there was something on her face that caused them to quickly shut. Red. Blood. Ugh. She wasn't at home, was she? Wiping what she could away from her eyes (not that it did much good since there had been blood on her hands already), Riyo just... Laid there for a moment.
Until she heard a voice. A voice calling her name. "Hel?" She tried to shout back, though her tone fell just short of 'louder than an inside voice'. "Oooover here." A groan as she turned her head to the side.
... Was that... Was that a kidney?

It probably helpful that it was so…relatively quiet in the canyon still, with the exception of others also calling out to their friends and loved ones, and the sounds of students chipping away at Red’s skull. Hel had started to gravitate towards where she had last seen Riyo, which was also where she and Mot had last been before they…died. It seemed it’d be a good hunch to follow, for soon she caught sight of the cat demoness, along with some muffled sounds that echoed off the canyon walls. Relief broke out on Hel’s face as she ran the rest of the way to the cat demoness, skidding to her knees beside the ghoul as she hovered over her. “ Ah, Riyo!” Hel cried. “ I’m so pleased to see you! Everyone was worried; we had lost sight of you!” Without so much caring that she didn’t like to be touched, Hel reached down and pulled the cat demoness up a bit, cradling her torso against her own. “… It’s over, friend.” She murmured. “ The false reapers are gone…and so is Professor Red. We can…return home now.”

Lacie's wobbling stance was enough to make Amrita stand taller; she had to be strong, right? She didn't feel strong...but she could at least try to be, especially for this ghoul, who seemed to be upset with guilt more than anything. Feeling that others were disappointed in you was a terrible thing, and she understood. At her apology, the Vetala shook her head slowly and reached up with her unbroken arm, patting the ghoul's hair. "Shh, it's alright, you did plenty, thank you." She repeated, releasing her grip on Lacie when she felt the ghoul could stand well enough on her own. "Of course you can...we all started this together, right? Lets...lets all go home together." Xiu had joined them, and she quite agreed; going soon was a very good idea, and she offered the Baku a small smile. Amrita was hurting. Her body hurt, her head hurt, her heart hurt; every gesture felt like she was lifting a tonne of bricks, and the weight only got worse with the shattered arm, or when she had to bend towards her broken ribs. But no matter how much pain she was in, Remi and Lizzy taught her - no, reminded her - of something important. That there was a time to grieve and there was a time to hurt, but there was also a time to help others before yourself. Now was the latter, and no amount of pain was going to stop her. She is an Undead; stubbornly going forward was an occupational hazard. Besides, she had year ones to look after; that was an educational hazard, probably. "Alright, Roch." Yes, get the group - she understood. That's what Lizzy told her to do, after all. Having a direction was nice! The brush against her arm was reassuring, and she nodded. "But if you're not there when I get back, I'm going to punch you." She said seriously, her mouth practically flatlining had it not been for the gaping hole on her right cheek. Apparently, the time she spend chasing him through the alleys taught her that he needed something like this; and since she wasn't about to chase him, she could at least threaten something. But it was quickly recovered with a smile, watching him leave to collect the big green beast and his other friends. That done, her team had her attention again. "You can lean on me if you want." She offered her good arm out to Xiu, before looking towards Remi. "You're going back now too, right? And---" Wait. Wait. Someone was missing! Their group had two boils, not one; five, not four. "Where...Where's Raziel?" She asked her group, though she was too busy trying to scan the larger crowd to take the time to look for a response in their expressions.

Riyo's eyes widened at the sight of a relieved valkyrie in front of her. What? They had been worried? W-why?
The demoness let out an involuntary hiss as she was scooped up in Hel's arms, her body aching from the long and arduous field trip. "W-what do you mean Red is-"
All the ghoul had to do was turn her head to see the massive skull left behind by what had once been their professor. Riyo's ears folded back as she continued to look over the scene. How?
How could this happen?
First the Soul Harvester... Now their teacher.
"Hel..." Riyo started sadly, making no protest to the ghoul's arms around her. "If this keeps up... Who's gonna be left to care if we live or die?"

Remi was content to stay where he was, quite honestly not feeling like moving from his spot just at the moment. His bruises and muscles were tensing up from the strain they were under for the past few hours. It was making it a labor to move, but he was doing his best to not show it. Not now, not when they were all hurting in their own ways. He watched silent for a few, as Lacie, Amrita, and Xiu seemed to congregate and chat. A tense feeling in his shoulders that he did not know was there relaxed as he watched, Remi was just glad they were all safe. "You think we would leave you here?" He offered a hand out to Lacie, welcoming her over if she so wished. He was becoming rather attached to these ghouls, something that he truly had not expected from this journey. Hell it had only been what... maybe a day? Ears flicked towards Amrita as she made a very good point, he kept his face towards the crowd. Being the tallest of the bunch the boil stretched out and stood on the palms of his feet, getting himself a few extra inches added on to his already 6 foot tall height scale. Muscles sore they straigned and stretched and caused the boil to wince a little, but he ignored his own pains to try and get a look out over the heads of the group. "...I do not know. I cant see him from up here." Raziel had to be somewhere, right? Remi would not feel right without having their 5th member of their team with them when they went home.

Hel wouldn’t need to explain, as all was answered as soon as Riyo turned her head. The valkyrie took one of Riyo’s arms and brought it over her shoulders, and after a moment, Hel started to stand, pulling the cat demoness up with her. She acted as a crutch for the ghoul, stabilizing and supporting her upright for now. Her gaze drifted back towards the skull, and she gave Riyo a small rueful smile before it faded.
“…Oursevles, of course…ourselves and our friends and family.” She paused. “…Did you want to go over and pay your respects before we leave?”

Calder turned to the mass of students crowding around the place where Red rested. "I suppose I should." It seemed disrespectful otherwise.
Seeing as they were already waiting, Calder moved over once more and found a spot amongst the gathering mourners and summoned his own pin in hand. It was hard, considering he was nearly zapped out of Fear, but he managed all the same. At last, the pin materialized in his hand.
"Seems a little sad. Giving a pin to show we support you in times of need when you were the one to do that. I wish I could have done more." He wish he was stronger for a lot of reasons.
Leaning down, he set the pin among the others, and decided to leave her be. Calder then returned to Christof and the slumbering Barth to wait for their group.

Riyo winced at the valkyrie's answer, though said nothing of it. Yes... Family.
Though the wince could've been taken as a painful one when Hel helped the feline to her feet. "No..." She started hoarsely. "It wouldn't be right for me to grieve for someone I didn't know when I refuse to grieve for the people I did know." Of which... She'd had a few.
"I'd just... Like to go home if that's alright." Yes... Home. She wanted to lock herself in that room and sleep a few weeks away. Work be damned. She just... She couldn't take any of that right now.

The reaper just simply nodded at Riyo’s answer. To each their own, after all! “Alright friend.” She murmured, “We’ll return home.” Before Hel moved towards the doors though, she cast one last look at Red’s skull, the monotone around the area, the pins, the destruction. She then looked around at the students who still remained. Some friends here and there, her sister and Herryk…she wasn’t worried about her sister right now…her sister was in very good hands. There’d be…plenty of time afterwards to catch up with her…
With that, Hel gave one final nod of her head, and started to guide the cat demonness towards the door that would take them home, sweet home.

Riyo's eyes remained glued to the skull as they walked onwards towards the door, her mind reviewing what she did remember about the events that had transpired. How something so lighthearted had turned into... Such a disaster. How many lives were gone for good... And, how many more had been scarred by the event.
She felt bad for someone other than herself for once.

Ren stood staring at the enormous, broken skeleton with an unreadable expression on his pale face, his hands held loosely at his side. He did not know where the others were; LW, Gabrian, Jove - he'd lost them all, somehow, and his heart was aching inside of his worn body. His hair hung long and tangled down his back, the tie having long since fallen out, and his throat felt too tight, as if he could not say the words that he wanted to.
He could not try and pretend that Professor Red had been his favorite teacher. The last time he'd been in one of her classes they had all been eaten by sharks, after all. And she had always been disdainful and bored towards them, uncaring of what happened to her students.
Until now.
Now she was here, a monument of one last attempt at protecting her students - literally engraved in stone, and Ren felt a swooping sensation inside of his chest.
A few feathers drifted and fell as his fingers elongated, talons curling out of what had once been regular hands. He stood there, flexing and unflexing them subconsciously.
Then he walked slowly towards the massive horns

His first swipe at one of the horns had produced nothing but ash, the black powder drifting aimlessly away into the darkness.
His second hit, however, made a long scratch down the side of the broken horn that had once belong to Professor Red. Ren stared at it for a moment, the swirling mix of emotions in his heart making him dizzy, and then he knelt down, smoothing his taloned fingers over the cold material.
