Nix thought over what Elliot had said as they went back to the inn. she was about to knock when Ipo expalined, but then she grew worried. "Leo's sick? shouldn't we go in too?" but Ipo was leading them away. she looked back at the door to the bedroom, frowning, "i want to be with brother is he's sick." Leo felt like his heart was going to come out of his chest for how hard it was pounding after they heard the door handle attempt to turn and then wiggle. he clutched at Tsume, but they heard Ipo taking Elliot and Nix away. only after their voices had faded did he relax again, falling limply into Tsume's arms. he looked at Henry and nodded, "i can't leave. i-but i can't tell him. not yet. it's too soon. he'll just worry and make himself sick." Tsume frowned, "the forest would be the best place for you. we don't know how this pregnancy will progress. what if something goes wrong? and how will you give birth? if things go badly then who will take care of you? who will heal you? are there any healers here?" he looked at Henry, wanting the answer. he wouldn't let let risk his life. not for Elliot, not even for the baby. he'd cut the thing out himself before he let it bring Leo to harm.

   "I know, I want to be with them too." Ipo said, peeling the coats from the royalty. "But I wasn't allowed in. All I know is that he has a stomach bug. A doctor left a while ago, maybe after lunch we can go. You can't eat supper in there, what if the smell makes him sick? It's best to eat right now and worry later." he explained. "Just a stomach flu? He was eating almonds earlier." the prince said, glancing at the door as they walked past it. "I suppose his color was off, but I thought that was the cold. Are you sure it's a stomach flu?" "That's all they told me." he repeated, leading them to the dining room. "Don't worry, he'll worry if you guys don't eat. He'll be happy to know you're both well fed." and smiled at them both, pulling out the chairs. "Please eat, I cooked it myself." Henry held his breath, hearing the prince's voice and the handle wiggle. But that annoying voice broke through and led them away, the man sighing. "Thank god for the idiot. I was afraid he had no use." The old eyes looked back at the boy in the bed before looking to Tsume. "You can't hide the prince's child after birht. He can hide the pregnancy as long as he wants, but eventually Elliot will need to see the child he has fathered, b*****d or not." and not in an insulting way, just a child born out of wedlock. "We have more then enough healers in our castle alone along with in the town. As for the birth, I'm not sure. What could you do about the birth? This has never happened, there are no solutions as of yet. We will do the best we can to take care of him, but Leo cannot leave the country. The heir will be born in this country." A decision he was not fit to make, but right now he was fighting for his prince to keep the heir, as unwanted as it might possibly be.

Nix sighed and nodded, "Fine, i'll eat. but i want to see him as soon as i'm done!" she looked at Elliot, "you want to see him too, right? so let's eat quickly and then we'll go back to the room. if they haven't unlocked it by then we'll break it down ourselves!" she nodded with conviction, "i'm strong and so is Elliot. will can do it." Tsume sighed and ran a hand through hsi hair, "fine. he stays." it wasn't like he didn't understand why Henry wanted the child bron here, but at the same time he knew it would be safer back amoung the trees that caused the problem in the first place. Leo swallowed back his tears and carefully wiped his eyes. "no child should be forced to live without their father. the babe and i shall stay here." he looked from Henry to Tsume and then down to his hands folded in his lap. "i know this is going to be hard. and that i-i might be putting my life at risk, but i know the trees didn't do this maliciously. they wished for the child to be a gift, but one must be alive to recieve a gift. they will provide a way for it all to work out." he felt exhausted now, but also hungry. he knew he should eat, even if it made him feel ill to do so. if he wanted this to work out he'd have to make sure he gave birth to a healthy baby and that meant he had to first take care of himself

"I agree with Nix. We'll eat quickly and go back to check on her." he said, sitting down beside the child. "Plus I have a key. So I'll unlock it instead of breaking it down." Ipo served them the hot bowls of stew. "If you have a key why didn't you use it?" Elliot stirred the thick meal, releasing the heat. "I'm not used to my room being locked, so for a moment I thought I had the wrong one." and took a bite. "Your cooking isn't bad, by the way. Why stew?" Ipo sat down across from them. "The chef wouldn't let me touch anything because it was past meal time, so I had to scavenge around for food he didn't cook. This chef doesn't use all of the animal. Waste of good meat." Henry smiled at the other, nodding. The child was going to stay, and while he agreed with Tsume that it wasn't the best idea, it was the heir even if it wasn't of the best blood. "I'm too old to understand what happened to receive such a gift, but everything will indeed work out." He stood finally, moving the chair back to it's original position. "And remember, don't force yourself, Lily. Your body tells you what it wants and when it needs it. I do suggest one meal a day at least. My wife, god rest her soul, spend more time snacking around the house then at the dinner table." he unlocked and opened the door. "I'm going to rest. I don't think this old soul can handle many more surprises." and left the door cracked open behind him as he left.

Nix was about to take a bit, but she paused at the mention that there was meat inside the stew. "thanks for cooking for us." she said brightly before she began to go through her bowl. she picked out the meat and put it into Elliot's bowl. when she was sure it was all out, she started to eat. "tastes good too." "Thank you, Henry." he said softly as Henry left the room. Tsume guided him back to lay on the pillows and Leo closed his eyes. "i can't believe this is happening," he whispered, "what will i ever do with a baby?" Tsume snorted, "knowing you? you'll be in love with it and turn all protective and motherly on me." he leaned down and nuzzled Leo's cheek. "we'll figure it out together. promise. you're not alone anymore." he pulled back and brushed some of Leo's hair out of his face, "i'm going to go and get you some fresh fruit to eat. i'll be right back." Leo nodded, "Thank you, Tsume." he opened his eyes and watched his friend leaving, but before Tsume left he said, "oh and crackers. see if you can find some crackers too." Tsume smiled and nodded before going to look for the fruit and crackers, but found Nix and the others instead, "Ipo. you went around the kitchen, do you know if there is some fruit and crackers in there?"

Oh good. I was afraid it would taste terrible." He said, stretching. "I'm so tired." and slouched over the table "Why don't you go to bed then?" Elliot asked, picking up the meat Nix dropped into his bowl and eating it. "Because I told the cook I'd clean up your dishes." he responded lazily, black ears hanging hanging over his face. "I'm sorry about that. You didn't have to cook, though." "Yes I did. You haven't had dinner yet." Two sets of ears moved at the sound of footsteps, only Elliot turning to see who it was. "Oh, good evening Tsume." he greeted, watching the other walk forward and ask for fruit and crackers. "Is Leo feeling better?" "The cook told me I can't get any other food out. He was angry enough I was cooking for Elliot and Nix." he sighed. "But the fruit is hanging in a bag and the crackers are in a small porcelain bowl." he directed. "Is Mistress Lily feeling better?"

Nix put her spoon down when Tsume came into the kitchen, she'd had more than enough to eat. while the others were distracted by Tsume, she slipped away. he could move silently through the forest at full speed so leaving without being noticed was easy for her. she ran to Leo's room and crawled up onto the bed with him. she didn't say anything, just lay by his side and snuggled close, her head on Leo's shoulder. Leo's eyes opened when he felt the bed dip and he saw Nix crawling up to lay beside him. "i'm sorry, were you worried?" he freed his arm and slide it around the girl, "i'm ok. promise. just need to rest for a while and i'll be better." Nix nodded, her arms curling around him as she lay there and Leo smiled, kissing the top of her head. "i'm not going anywhere." Tsume nodded, "thanks, i'll go get them. He-" what was he suppose to say to answer their questions? "well, it's not anything too serious. Doctor said he was fine but he might be out of commission for a while. what he has takes a while to work itself out so he's going to need to take it easy for a few months." he was pulling out a few fruit and grabbed the crackers as he spoke. "he's just been trying to hide it so it made things worse. that's why he's so bad off right now."

Elliot looked down sadly. He hadn't noticed at all that he was. Sure he'd notice Leo had been eating oddly, but he wasn't aware the other was sick. "In hindsight it becomes very obvious." he murmured, looking at his stew and giving it another stir. "What did he eat that has him in such terrible condition? Especially for the next few months?" He took a small bite of his food, ignoring the fact that Ipo took Nix's spoon and started to eat from Elliot's bowl. "Don't be too hard on yourself, Elliot." Ipo murmured. "We're almost home, so he can take it easy in Nalenyr." He turning back to Tsume he grinned, knowing Elliot couldn't see. "And because Tsume will be busy you can take care of Lily yourself." "I suppose, but then who will keep an eye on my sisters?" "It's been almost a month, I am sure they've had a wonderful nanny or servant care for them. Tsume, when can we see Lily again?"

Tsume glanced over, "Think of it as a kind of parasite. that's what the doctor said at least." he lied easily and made sure they wouldn't be able to tell he was being less that truthful. in a way it was true. "it'll feed off him for a while before his body can get ride of it. it wont hurt him, just makes him ill for a while is all." he was heading out at Ipo's question, "you can go and see him now if you want. he's probably still awake, but if he's sleeping then leave him alone." he frowned at the reminder that he wouldn't be able to help Leo because he had been ordered to be with Ipo's brother. maybe he could convince the brother that taking care of Leo was part of his job. two birds, one stone. "i'm going there now after all." he left the kitchen and head back to the room, not surprised to see Nix there laying next to her brother. what did surprise him was how she clung to Leo as if afraid he was going to disappear. "here, now, come on. let the man sit up so he can eat." he muttered, putting pillows behind Leo's back and propping him up before handing over a plum. Leo smiled, Nix's head moving to his lap as he was sat up. "shhh, she's asleep." it was true, though the movement had roused her a bit, Nix was out cold. the day had been filled with too much excitement for the little girl and had down her in. Leo accepted the plum and bit into the sweet flesh, "thank you."

"A parasite?" Ipo asked. "that doesn't sound fun to have at all. "That sounds terrible." Elliot murmured. "I'm really curious as to what he ate. We've been eating the same thing for the past week." he murmured. "And the doctor was positive that it was a parasite." Hearing Leo could take visitors Elliot stood and glanced at Ipo. "I'm sorry to leave you to clean, Ipo." "It's okay." The hare finished off Elliot's stew, drinking the broth from Nix's and stood. "You go on ahead, I'll catch up." Elliot nodded, walking out and down the hall. He was nervous. How sick was leo? He'd looked fine just an hour or two ago. The prince felt bad for not realizing it at all. He should have walked Leo back to the inn himself. Nervously looking into the bedroom he took a step in. "Leo? Are you all right?" He murmured, noticing the sleeping Nix. "I'm sorry I didn't realize it earlier. You should have told me you were that sick." he said guiltily, ears lowered as he stood by the foot of the bed.

Leo flushed a little when Elliot came into the room and he looked down. "It's not your fault. i was trying to hide it. if you had figured it out then i would have been doing a bad job of it." he smiled and lifted his head. "Really, i am fine. Tsume is just making a big deal of things. i'll make sure to rest and eat enough and everything will work out, i promise." he glanced at Tsume who shrugged and moved to sit in the window seat, looking out. "Elliot? will you come sit by me?" Leo asked softly. just as Nix had wanted to snuggle with him, he wanted to snuggle against Elliot. it wasn't just the fact that he now knew he was carrying the man's child, but just Elliot being near him made him feel better. The man's touch, his smell-everything about him soothed Leo and right now he wanted that more than anything

"But I should have noticed. I just noticed you were snacking, but I should have realized you were sick." How could he love have such a strong affection for Leo but not notice he was sick? "He has a right to make a big deal, parasites are hardly healthy, Leo." but at the request to sit next to him, Elliot took it. He slid off his shoes and sat next to the other, wrapping an arm around the thin shoulders and kissing his temple. "I'm sorry." he murmured again.

Leo shot a look at Tsume who was careful to be looking away when he heard the wolf's explanation. a parasite? really? but in a way he guessed it was true, even if he didn't like it. Warm arms slipped around him and he sighed happily, his eyes closing for a moment while he leaned back. he took another bite of plum and snuggled closer. "will you sleep with me tonight?" he asked softly, "i don't-don't mean anything sexual. i doubt Nix will be leaving my side, i just-i want to be held by you while we sleep. is that ok?" he was blushing softly at the request, but he wanted it so badly he didn't care.

Elliot allowed the snuggling, nuzzling the other happily. "I was worried you wouldn't let me sleep with you because you were sick." he said softly, kissing the ears he loved so much. He was surprised when Leo said no sexual activities, not because he wanted it, but because he assumed it would happen. Nix was on the bed with them, and even if Tsume was going to take Nix he wasn't going to try anyway. Leo was sick. "That's fine. I don't mind it at all." "Tsume," came Ipo's tired yawn, standing in the doorway. "Tsume I'm going to bed. Here's your key." and placed it on a nearby table before looking at the three on the bed. "You look like a family. Sleep well." and walked out again.

Leo choked on the bite of plum he'd been working on and had a fit of coughing as he tried to get the juice out of his wind pipe. he bent over a little and was breathing hard, but he held up his hand to Tsume, who was hurrying over. "i'm fine. just was surprised." he leaned back against the pillows and carefully wiped his lips, "that was unexpected." he smiled shyly at Elliot and then looked over to Tsume. "go to bed. you need your rest too. it's not like i'm going to fall over and die." he shooed the wolf away and though the man was reluctant, he left, shutting the door behind himself. Leo shook his head, "i didn't tell anyone because i didn't want you all to worry. didn't work out too well, did it?" he rolled his eyes before finishing the plum and putting the pit into the garbage next to the bed. "i'm going to sleep, but if you want to stay up a bit longer that's fine." he pulled the blankets over Nix and arranged the pillows before laying down, his eyes already half closed in sleep
