"Nope. Maybe as we get closer to the planet but otherwise it's a surprise..." He winked, holding her gently as he smiled down at her. He somewhat wanted her to sleep so she would be well rested for the trip, but knew she would do what she had to.
Raquel awoke with a start when the book on her lap slid to the floor with a soft slap. She took in a deep breath, stretching with a soft moan. She rubbed her eye tiredly, pushing her glasses up a bit. She sat in silence looking about the room, silently arguing with herself. Part of her wanted to seek Damian out, and talk. The other half simply wanted him to make the first move. As she weighed these in her mind, she pulled out the little information packet from the school she was applying for, and proceeded to skim through it, distracting herself slightly.

"I think I'll nap a bit before packing for this surprise... I'm so tired..." Lorey managed a soft peck on his chin before resting down again, and drifting off into sleep after her difficult day at work. She was exited, though, regardless of her sleepiness, and couldn't wait to take off for lands unknown with Richard.
Damian slept for a few minutes before his sleeping body eased itself off of the chair and onto the floor. It was a surprisingly quiet reaction when he jolted awake with a slight cry, looking around once before realizing what had happened.
Time for bed, he thought as he pulled himself upright. Though, Damian couldn't help but wonder if Raquel would want to be in the same room with him after their awkwardness.

Raquel sighed, putting the packet away as she stood and popped her back. Her room was pretty dark except the lamp light that illuminated her pile of open books. She looked forward to just falling asleep, though stopped herself as she was heading to turn the light out. She couldn't really sleep without hearing Damian's voice before she went off to sleep. He had promised her he would when he could but it wasn't that big of a deal. She just... She just liked feeling as secure as she did when he spoke to her. Especially when he held her. But she doubted he wanted to do that tonight. She was a bit frustrated with him, though she had to admit she probably should have spoken with him about it instead of just walking off. But what was done was done and now she was left deciding what to do next.

Damian walked to the door and opened it slightly. Before he made the brave motion, Damian had slipped into his pajama bottoms, and came shirtless. Raquel was standing by the light, and froze when she caught sight of him. He felt awkward just standing there, wondering if she was mad at him or not, or even wanted to see him at all.
"I wasn't sure if you wanted to be alone tonight," he said with eyes focusing on her feet more than anything else. "I understand if you do."
Now that was a lie, as Damian didn't understand anything about what had happened and wished she would elaborate on her own so he didn't have to egg anything out of her.

Raquel swallowed lightly, looking at him in the dim warm light. "N-not necessarily...I was...I was just going to come find you..." She confided though honestly wasn't sure if she really was or was going to just chicken out.
"...I'm....Sorry." She said softly, though wasn't sure what for. "I just... ...Damian, Am I doing something wrong?" She asked, hugging her arms as she looked up at him.
"I mean...you're feeling guilty...and slightly angry and confused....and a whole mess of other emotions....Just tell me if I'm the cause of any of those and I'll fix whatever it is I'm doing I promise..." Her eyes looked pleading and desperate, trying to sort out in her own mind if she had done anything wrong.

He had to remind himself that she was Amaranthine in some way, and that's how she knew she was right about what she was saying. Damian had to choose his words carefully as he hovered just within the doorway, slightly slouching and so tired. But, they couldn't deal with this in the morning, that was for certain.
"Well... you envy Richard and Lorey for what they have. The innocence?" Damian thought about them on the couch then, as he'd caught them in a glance on his way to the room. They were just sleeping, nothing more.
"Sometimes I wonder if... even though we both did what we did because we wanted to, if maybe there was some way we could be like them, because that's what you want. Isn't it?"

Raquel wrung her hands as a distraction as she hesitated a moment. She had been feeling this way though hadn't really wanted Damian to know let alone feel guilty about it. "We....We're not like them..." She tried, hoping to make him not feel so bad about it. "We're not Richard and Lorey... We're Damian and Raquel... Yea, it would be nice to have such a sweet innocent romance, but I'm more than happy with what I've got..." She took a step forward though stopped, thinking he may not want her at that moment.
"I wouldn't trade anything Damian.... Even if I had the choice between erasing my horrid past for my time with you... I just wouldn't do it..." She felt hr voice crack but she shut back her emotion. She was getting good at that again. but now it was more than just for herself, and felt slightly healthier than it once had. "I just...I love you...and I want to make this work so badly... I guess I just feel like a relationship like theirs is healthier and more grounded... Like a haven or security in knowing that person is going to be there for you, whether you offer them intimacy or not you know?"
She didn't mean for this to sound like she still didn't trust Damian. She did with her life... She was just so used to being in situations with others like this, and being torn apart over something silly. Richard and Lorey would never have that problem. Their bond let stronger for some reason. she just wanted to be able to have that with Damian, if anything, just for him...

Damian stepped forward to catch her in a hug. He kissed her cheek and neck, and just held her close for a few silent moments.
"I will always be here for you, no matter what. You can frustrate me and tease me, do whatever you like, but I will always be here for you, Raquel."
Well, he wouldn't like to be frustrated and teased. That had been terrible in almost every way. But he could be patient and loving as well, knowing that Raquel was happy.

Raquel always seemed to blush when he held her against his bare chest. That was something she adored, despite their very 'intimate' relationship. She embraced him back, running her nose up his neck, breathing slightly into his ear. "I'm sorry if I do frustrate and tease you love... I don't mean to and I'll work on doing it less..." She whispered so quietly, just glad he wasn't angry with her.

Damian enjoyed hugging her. He could see how Richard, man that he was who had lost so much, could survive without knowing Lorey like Damian knew Raquel. When people are so fleeting, it's best to enjoy what you can when you have it at all.
"How was your reading?" he asked, suddenly scooping her up and falling over on the bed with her, landing side-by-side in the comforters. They were both tired, he could tell.

Raquel giggled softly as she was flopped onto the bed. She snuggled into Damian as she sighed contently. It felt good to be back in his arms. "Amazing. I'm learning so much, I think I'll actually have a chance of passing that exam now..." she smiled, sighing as she kissed his bare chest.
"Did you know that a lot of various planets had similar evolutions in art as the humans from Earth did? its fascinating!" He eyes sparkled, proud of herself for learning new things, things that she enjoyed and felt made her seem smarter perhaps.

"I didn't know that until now." Honestly, his brain was fuzzy and wasn't in learning mode, but if Raquel wanted to tell him everything she'd found in the books they'd purchased, he would pay attention as much as he could before sleeping.
"And that was just in one afternoon and evening. There's so much more time before your exam..."
Surely she would be able to stand a chance against the competition?

"I hope so..." She yawned as she stretched and curled up into a little ball. "Damian... I love you.. ok?" She added out of nowhere, trying to keep her heavy eyelids from closing as sleep began to take over.

"I love you, too." Damian kissed the top of her head, gave her a snuggle and surrendered himself to sleep. It was always nice knowing that everything was alright before falling asleep, Damian found, because h had a fear that dreams would surface those worries again. He'd been dreaming of his father and mother lately, which didn't sit right with him at all.
As they were falling asleep, though, Lorey and Richard had woken up from their nap and had begun packing. Lorey folded a few dresses away, brought changes of socks, underwear and whatnot along with waterbottles and little food stuffs. This time, though, she let the music box stay. If Richard wanted to bring it, then she would let him say something, but Lorey knew that she would have to let go of her extreme attachment to her memories in physical form.

For Raquel, a good night's sleep was not dreaming at all. All her dreams were too eerily realistic and mostly negative. Besides, she lived in a dream every day, a wonderful. She was content with that alone...
Richard packed only a few changes of clothes and under garments, zipping up the bag he was using. He glanced back at Lorey, knowing that if she loved this place, they would come back, pack everything they had and move in. He was getting jittery as the night went on, feeling as nervous as he did when eh proposed.
