Jelly is the wobbley stuff that you get concentrated in packets and mix with boling water and leave in a bowl to set, and eat with ice-cream if you want. Jam is the stuff in jars that you put on bread, and it usually has fruit in it.

Jam and Jelly and Preserves are the spreadable fruit stuff you get in jars.
