Has anyone heard of the group Venga Boys? You know, the ones with that catchy "We Like to Party" song played on the Six Flags commercials.
Well, I remember hearing that their name comes from the Spanish word "Venga," which means "Come on," so it's "Come On, Boys!"
But if it's more than one...shouldn't it be "Vengan Boys"?

Well, 'venga' is 'Come!'
Vengan is technically the plural command for ustedes... I suppose that it should be venga boys... unless they're using boys as a collective noun, like 'equipo.' You don't say 'vengan, equipo' you say 'venga equipo.'
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that they mean boys in general, and aren't referring to a certain group or boys...

"They go" would be vienen. Vengan is the plural command form. The site you linked to even says that (not with vener, but with another verb). I guess Doppelganger's explanation makes sense, but it's still going to bother me. sweatdrop

"Vengan" ... ? Can't say I've heard of that either, only vienen. Guess it makes sense. But one band I still don't understand is Popcorn. It's a Spanish band... but the name is Popcorn...

What is qde? i am assuming Q = que sweatdrop

So yeah, quede and que, mostly.

Yeah, it is somewhat obnoxious, but I Think it sort of maybe helps you get a feeling for the cultures.

I don't like it, either.

Yeah, you should be fine, but it couldn't hurt to maybe surf Wikipedia in Spanish or go to some other Spanish sites, even chat in Spanish here on Gaia.
