I'm going to get archery lessons soon but there's many types of bows to choose from, has anyone else ever had any training and if so any suggestions?I like the longbow but the minimum pull strength I've seen for them is 45 lbs and I can't pull that,so I think I may need to start witha recurve(I hate compound bows, they may be easy to use but are fugly as hell)
45 is the legal limit for hunting an such on a long bow. I would sugest going to a sportingoods store and requesting a short bow with a pull back of about 15 - 30 lbs.
I have a compound bow set at 45, but I don't get to shoot it anymore. My uncle has one at about 65lbs.
eek The think can shoot through solid wood blanks.
My cousin has a fiberglass longbow at 15 lbs. Its fun to shoot.
Don't forget to find out your arm to bow ratio for arrow size.
