The shinobi let out a moan of power as the boulder at his shoulder egan to roll again. He smiled as he watched it roll and entire two feet before stopping. Progress. . . well. . .progress. He thought, bending down again and placing his shoulder against the stone. With a few more groans, he was struggling with every muscle in his body to move the boulder. It felt cold and deadly at his shoulder, like an ominous warning of the obstacles he would face in the future. Hitotsu gritted his teeth and pushed on the rock with all of his might.

Hitotsu let out another grunt as the boulder rolled away, only it rolled much farther than he intended. The ball of stone found its way into a corner of which there would be no good angle in which Hitotsu was to push at it. Wiping the sweat from his brow on his forearm, he looked around.

The shinobi ran to a rock that was three fourths his size, a good deal larger than the one he had been pushing, and bent his shoulder into position. He would have pushed a boulder that was smaller, but this seemed to be the smallest one.

Hitotsu yelled in frustration as the boulder didn't move at all. His shoulder was beginning to bruise, but the boy threw himself at it. He pushed with new intensity, feeling an overwhelming urge to destroy this boulder. He wanted to turn it into dust of which he could gently blow it away as nothing. Sadly, the first thing was first. Hitotsu tensed his muscles and pushed against the boulder again.

Hitotsu jumped in triumph as the boulder rolled an entire inch. He was so joyed that he pounded his fist against the thing. This, unfortunately, reminded him that he had scabs left on his hands. He winced in pain and slowly walked from the rocks.

Strolling around, he found the wooden logs yet again. The distant fire shone over the bloodied log he had attacked earlier that night. He smiled and walked to it, swinging his right fist. This time, he decided, both fists would take the same pain. Almost mechanically, Hitotsu punched the log. One right, one left. . . one right, one left. It was a simple pattern not designed to fight but to build strength.

THe kid sighed and paused for a few minutes. After a good few dozen, his fists were bleeding again. The scabs that had formed diminished with every blow, leaving more open areas of the wound.

Hitotsu sighed, accepting the pain, and continued his regiment. His mind was on one track and the cold, nipping air was nothing against his fire to improve. One right, one left. . .

Hitotsu sighed and stopped, unable to take the pain anymore. Hugging his wounds, he raised his right leg and began to kick, not as uniformly, and then switched it off with his right foot. He did this while slowly licking his wounds.

Hand after hand hit the ground as Hitotsu beat the log with his feet. He needed support so that his kicks and their placement were correct. Then again, he felt it too dark to even try to tell if they were correct. His scabs slowly reformed, though they were still very bloody and almost caused him to slip and fall. Sadly, he was tired enough to fall over in the middle of a kicking stance without the help of a slippery substance. He continued to kick, ignoring the biting cold and pain.

Hitotsu felt his muscles ache and his body slowly feel the cold around him. He was determined, though, to finish his training. He knew that as much as he did so far was enough for a night, but he felt that his father would have pushed him farther. If he didn't do it when his dad wasn't around, then he would become lazy and forget the academy all together. Hitotsu despised the thought and continued his kicks, not noticing the log was beginning to break.

With quiet determination, foot after foot sailed through the air at the bloody log. Hitotsu had become mindless and was pulled from some strange reverie as he felt the log shatter against his shin. . . .Oh. He thought, landing awkwardly. His eyes were heavy and he forced them to stay open. Just a little more. . .then I'll stop. Hitotsu told himself as he picked up his leg and brought it to a new log to fight.

Hitotsu sighed, feeling his muscles beginning to hate him. Landing one last strike to the log, he picked himself up and headed back inside the dojo. It was warm and welcoming, much better than the cold summer night outside. He sat at a bench, drenched in sweat, then thought of the hot springs. It would, essentially, help his muscles relax. He smiled and giggled at the idea. It would feel nice. Hitotsu thought, rising and heading into the loccker room of sorts.

Grabbing a towel and fundoshi, he changed and headed into the hot, steamy water. His body shivered at the feeling and his muscles forgot their hatred for him in the overwelcomed sensation of the hot spring.

(WOO! First completed training. . .I feel accomplished.)

Hitotsu slowly rose from the relaxing waters, having spent what felt like half an hour resting. His body lugged as he walked towards the locker area, heavy with the rest given by the hot springs. With a stupid grin, Hitotsu found his way into the dojo, changed, and continued out into the open air of Otogakure. He wanted to go home and sleep inpreparation for class the next morning.

Mozu finally emerged from his hiding spot after everyone left his spot. It was a rather deep hole underneath the tree, but it was barely visible to the naked eye. He spent most of the time underground reading a novel about a race of blood sucking ninjas at the genin level... full of romance, and Mary Sue'ing. It was rather bland and he hated it... but some of the maids at his place liked it, so he read the whole thing. This caused horrible images to stick in his mind for the remainder of the evening.

Noticing the signs of night, he began to panic as he missed lunch and dinner. As he began to sigh as he foresaw his mother kicking his a**, he began to try once more at the chakra. If he managed to master the skill, then at least the beating wouldn't be so bad. When he sat up in front of the barely visible hole, he began to concentrate the chakra with the imagining of this river of chakra roaring through him. His hands began to glow a faint blue color. After feeling this amazing feeling once more... he felt content with the mastery and ran back home.

Xenon looked around, his eyes picking over the scene until he found the area he was looking for. At the base of a run off stream for the dojo's decorative bridge, was a rather large reservoir of water. Not over big, but large enough to be something special. Walking out unto the water, his feet glowing at their souls as he stepped out, he walked across the surface of the water until he reached it's center, then, still standing perfectly still, he took a deep breath, forming the common focusing sign as he let his build.

He was going to start off possibly his last day of training with some light chakra exercise...then perhaps move on to a little speed training...he'd see how the day went...

As Xen began his training, his entire mood seemed to relax, and he almost looked to fall asleep, his mind detaching itself completely from his body. This was merely skin deep, he was still very much aware, but he was simply aware to different things. Once more in his life he was faced with his own chakra stream...his own immense potential. It was interesting to him to think...but in truth all people everywhere had rivers of power like this running inside them. All humans possessed this river of light... it was a part of them, was them. Their essence, their chakra. Yes...it was amazing that everyone of them could possess it... and hardly any would ever even comprehend it's true grandeur.

Xenon was not even contemplating the night before. It had been coincidence really...well... another coincidence were he and his rival seemed tied at the heel by fate. He'd merely been passing by the Kage's building, on his way back from the library, and saw her speed past, mission statement in hand. He couldn't really help the fact he was little curious could he? So he'd followed her, just to make sure his favorite toy hadn't bitten off more than she could chew... needless to say he'd been more than surprised when she entered the graveyard, only to run into three sad excuse for Genin... seriously... did those weaklings really pass for Genin?
