Canti blinked up at him, for a moment, as if just realizing he was there, then smiled softly, returning to her brother.
Tessie frowned, softly and, quietly, padded into the kitchen after Jak. She slipped over to the refridgerator, waiting until he was dfinished on the phone to say what was on her mind.

Jak spoke briefly on the phone, his voice low. Frowning upon hearing that Akkhina wasnt at home, he hung up, acknowledging Tessie's presence with a nod. "Something on your mind little one?" He pulled out a chair, gesturing for her to be seated before dropping onto another chair.

She nodded, but didn't sit, crossing her ankles as she stood, shyly. She'd been introduced briefly to Jak, but that was all.
"Yes . . . it's the other one, isn' it? The girl."
She paused, blushing softly, and blundered on in a soft, almost regretting voice.
"The both of you look so sad. Your faces . . . . identically hurt."

Jak rose from the chair, turning to meet her eyes, his own guarded and defensive. "You're very observant for one who has been here such a short time." He gripped the back of the chair, his knuckles white with tension. "She hurt him..."

"She hurt you, too," she said in the blunt, pointed way she'd always had, and regretted using. Her face flushed brightly and she fidgeted from foot to foot gently before taking a deep breath and, half- stepping half-lunging forward to hug him around the waist,
"I'm sorry. I just . . . can't stand to see people as hurt as you both are. It's residual, it hurts me to see it."

"She hurt me too..." he acknowledged quietly. Startled at her impulsive hug, he wrapped his arms around her, accepting the comfort she offered.
"I do think she may have hurt herself as much, or more. While we have each other and our families, she has no one." He raised a hand to lift her chin, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. "You have a gentle heart, little one."

She blushed softly and beamed in pleasure, stepping back and clasping her hands behind her back, murmuring, softly,
"Thank you."

She nodded, blushing and took his hand, following along behind him.
The other two had taken seats in the living room, and Canti had finally given Suru room to breath. He looked up, curiously.
"Everything look all right on the home front?"
Canti piped up as well, looking worried "How's Po, h hasn't been coming around much. Is he mad at me?"

Jak released her to drop down beside Suru, smiling gently at Canti. "He thought you would need time to get Tessie settled in, love. I'm sure he isnt mad at you."
With a deep sigh he turned his attention to Suru, leaning back tiredly. "I'm concerned about Akki, Po says she hasnt been home. She's been very quiet lately, moreso than normal."

Suru frowned lightly, uncrosing his legs to lean forward on his knees.
"What about that boy of hers, Kalan? Think she might be off with him?"
Canti stood up, stretching lightly.
"I'm going to go se Po, kay, Suru? Make sure he's all right worrying about Akki."
After recieveing a nod, she slipped out of the house.

Jak frowned, pushing his hair back. "I dont think she's seen him for awhile, she hasnt mentioned him lately."

He shrugged, hunching forward a little.
"Well, it would take our mind off of things, would you like to go look for her?"

Jak shook his head, slipping an arm around the other's waist. "Po knows where I am, he'll call when he hears from her. Wouldnt you rather get some rest love? You look done in."

He sighed lightly, tilting over onto the other's shoulder and closing his eyes.
"Yeah . . . . Yeah, that sounds nice."
He sighed, closing his eyes lightly and nuzzled into Jak's shoulder.
