"Bah! Your tiny dreams can't stop me! Yes, Hartley was still involved in a life/death battle with Morpheus, king of the Dreaming. So far, Morpheus was whomping Hartley, but he'd managed to start to get a hang of how the dreamscape worked.
Now, every time the nightmares Morpheus conjured attacked, Hartley was becoming able to defend himself by calling on his past dreams.
Unfortunately, this wasn't, like, cool dreams like someday having a great car or marrying Neil Patrick Harris. This was actual, literal dreams. So, Hartley was holding off the nightmare with the ice pick by sending his dream of himself going to school naked to stop it.
"Argh! The burning humiliation! I can't defeat it!" The nightmare curdled when subjected to the view of an entire classroom laughing at Hartley.
"Worst. Battle for true love. Ever." Hartley grimaced as he prepared to do battle with his dream of falling off a cliff.

At the lake, facing down Chris Powell, suddenly the skrull students all screamed and grabbed at their heads. As they fell to the ground, their true visages were revealed....bumpy-chinned skrull kids.
"Wh-what happened?"
"Where am I?"
They were completely disoriented, unaware of their surroundings or what they had just done.
Meanwhile.....
Down in the catacombs underneath the gym, hundreds of heroic students suddenly awakened as the pods holding them captive all swung open in one fluid motion.
Wally West, the real Wally, sat bolt upright and shouted.
"Cassie! Look out!!!! Wait....where did the detention room go?"

YES!
*Chris watched Skruperboy fall out of the sky and land in the lake.*
Achilles! Grab him and drag him over here.
*After the Greek warrior dragged the Skrull Superboy over, Chris set Skrally, Skrassie, and Skruperboy back to back and used his cable claw to start wrapping them up.*
Here...cut the cable with your spear. Don't worry, the armor self-repairs.
*Achilles sliced the cable from the armor and Chris attempted to tie the three up. Achilles rolled his eyes.*
Does no one teach this era's warriors to tie proper knots?
Sorry, I missed that day...must have been the same day they handed out the flying elephants.
*Achilles rolled his eyes again and pushed Chris aside. He properly tied up the three Skrulls.*
Ok...let's get back to the gym and find our friends!

Dani looked at the alarm.
Then at Lois.
Then back at the alarm.
Then at all the kids escaping their pods.
Then back at Lois
"Lois.. you are seriously the luckiest girl I have ever met."
Dani was stunned, random button smashing never worked in video games... but somehow, it worked in this... she would remember that for next time.

::Clark's eyes opened and he took in the whole scene in a glance. A man with claws fighting a group of green aliens, an alien woman looking up and screaming, Lois and two others in a room behind the alien woman, and above his head was a small green boy riding a globe to the ground. A green boy Clark recognized from his year of training with young Legionnaires in the future. In a red/blue blur, Clark burst from his pod and snatched Querl from smashing himself into small bits.::
Hi, Brainy. Looks like you could use a hand.

Karen blurted out after smashing through her own goo-y pod in disgust.
"Ew! I'm going to need another shower now!"
She flicked some ew off her hands and looked up to see Clark raising to catch someone. Some one who was very cute, and with Clark holding him ever so closely...
"A very cold shower...."
She shook the ideas out of her head for now, and put on a mean face.
"Alright! Who do I need to hit for this?!"

Cassie... the real Cassie woke up... everything was like a foggy dream.She saw Wally there who looked about as confused as she was. Cassie completely facepalmed ... feeling somewhat dizzy.
"What the? Who the? Ugh... Someone get the name of that freight train?"

Queen Verenke looked down at the throngs of her soldiers and confused young skrulls, all of them staring at the hundreds of pods opening. She weighed her options.
The Skrull invasion plan, a decades-long plan of quiet infiltration and world domination...they could still recover. This revolution could be suppressed. All she needed was a plan, an idea...An escape.
In a flash, she stretched out one long, green arm and wrapped it several times around Teddy's neck. Verenke hissed in his ear.
"Tell them to stand down. Give us time to escape and all of the riches of this planet will be yours. Hesitate and die."

"TEDDY!" Dani screamed out when the Queen grabbed him, and threatened to kill him. Witchblade reacted to Dani's command creating several whip-like appendages with sharp knives at the tips, ready and willing to strike. "You hurt him and I'll turn you into sushi!!"

Another of the pods had opened with a faint 'hiss' noise and Billy almost fell out and onto the floor, but caught himself. He was suffering from lethargy and one serious head rush. He tried recalling what had happened, but was unable. All he remembered was blacking out as Professor Prince was delivering him back from Themyscira to Hero High.
Next thing he knew, he was dumped out of some weird chamber and found himself...
"Where am I?"
He asked nobody in particular but looked up and recognized some faces.
"Dani...? Clark? What...?"
It was then his eyes opened wide in shock and horror as he saw Teddy up at the forefront with some weird reptile alien chick and her arm around his throat threateningly. He didn't need to understand what was happening to know Teddy was in danger...
A crackling energy of arcane origins danced in Billy's eyes and in his hands as he darted his hands outward and Teddy was suddenly bathed in a brilliant blue light and vanished from Veranke's grasp and appeared in between Danielle and himself!

"Foolish." Veranke shot out an arm and it turned into a sharp, devilish-looking barbed spear. It struck Billy in the gut, sinking in deep like some sort of living harpoon. "To me, my skrulls! We can still take this world!"
"No." Teddy stepped forward, the entirety of Hero High waking up behind him. He transformed his own hand into a blade and with a single 'SLICE,' cut off Veranke's arm. He turned to Dani.
"Take care of Billy, please. Use your witchblade." It was like someone had turned a switch in Teddy's mind. All of his emotions were turned off. All he could see was Veranke, kneeling on the ground, cradling her bleeding stump.
"AUGH! My hand! You'll pay for that, you insolent whelp-"
"It's over, Veranke. You've lost Hero High. You've lost Earth." There were very few Skrull left alive, and the ones that were, were trying to escape through the tunnels. They were abandoning her.
"Come back, you cowards! Come back and aid your queen!"
"YOU. ARE. NO. QUEEN!" Teddy thrust out an arm and slapped Veranke down. He glanced to the side to see Dani reach out to him with one arm, but as he turned to look at her, she froze. Was it something in his eyes that made the kids back off from him? Slowly, the youth of Hero High were forming a circle around him and the defeated queen. She began to plead.
"I can give you anything...anything you want. Just let me escape. Please! I am begging you! Anything you want..."
Teddy looked at her, the pathetic, shaking husk of the queen she used to be.
"Anything?"
"Yes....anything your heart desires..." Tears ran down Veranke's face. Teddy looked deep into her eyes.
"I want my mother back, you b***h." He grabbed her by the face and smashed her head into the ground. She groaned and instantly lost consciousness.
"Teddy, you didn't kill-"
"No." Teddy wasn't even sure who was speaking to him. His field of vision was becoming clouded with emotion. He turned to Logan. "Lock her up. Do whatever you want with her. But I never want to see her again."
Whatever happened to Veranke as he turned away, Teddy didn't know. He didn't care. He turned to Dani and Billy. Tenderly, he picked Billy up, with Dani's assistance, and the three of them moved up the tunnels and away from the Secret Invasion.
Whatever would happen to them from here on, Teddy didn't know. But in his heart, he felt all of his different emotions roll over him. Grief, anger, hatred...but also love, gratefulness and passion.
He could have killed Veranke, right there, and no one would have blamed him. He knew that.
But his mother raised him better than that.

*As Chris and Achilles arrived back at the gym, two things happened. The Avengers, led by Iron Man, arrived at the school to help with the Skrulls and the Hero High teachers and students began to filter up from the old Nazi tunnels.
Chris was momentarily starstruck when Tony Stark walked past him to talk to Mr. Rogers but moved on into the crowd. He wanted to find Cassie, Wally, and his friends.*
Has anyone seen Cassie? Or Wally? Or Dani?

"Oh God! Billy!" Dani quickly rushed to his side, even before Teddy gave the command, she was running to hid aid. "Don't move Bill! Don't move!" This was something she tried to do before, tired to use Witchblade healing powers on Konnor Kent, but failed. She refused to fail again. I can do this.... She prayed deep inside. Using the Witchblade she willed it to heal Billy, a yellow light ignited from it's palm and shined at Billy's midsection. Slowly where the spear had gone through was healing. but not fast enough. She was so worried. Faster! She demanded from the sentient being, and the light glowed brighter, it was working. *Crack!* She turned her head to see Teddy standing over an unconscious Veranke. Stunned she asked. "Teddy, you didn't kill-" He quickly answered, and she let out a breath she didn't even know she'd held. This was all a mess. Poor Teddy. Poor Billy. He needed help. When Teddy helped Billy, she walked with him, talking to Billy and continuing to shine her light. "Don't worry Billy. We'll get you to the nurse...You're going to be ok." She repeated a few more times. She wondered if her light, healing abilities would be able to heal Teddy too. Or was this something not even the balance of light and dark could help?
