Really? Hnn... That far back...

*Well, now there was a mystery at hand. Did Proto have the nanoskin from the very beginning? Why had it only become active now then? This was a development Nana would certainly share with Mastema later. Proto was continuing to grow beyond the programming. It was both exciting and perhaps a little scary aswell. Reguardless, Nana should get the bullets out of Proto. Then the nanoskin would be able to better repair those damaged areas*

Hnn.... Do you think its safe to try the east tower?

*The inquiry seemed to be directed at both V5 and Proto. If they felt it safe then Nana would take Proto to be repaired. V5 could accompany if it liked*

Proto really hadn't as much updated information as V5, so Proto left it to the other to answer the question. V5 was still carrying the robot fragments in its hand. "The situation has been rectified. Under Lord Mastema's orders, all models of automated drones are to be in their respective hangars and offline. Any models found outside are to return, be returned by one of the vanguard, or be destroyed if met with physical resistance." It seemed Mastema wasn't going to take many chances. Any droid that didn't immediately return to the hangars was going to be obliterated on sight.

"At the moment," V5 continued, "the Vanguard is deployed throughout the citadel to enforce these commands. All drones should be in the hangars at this time, and all major sections of the citadel are clear. The drones are also on complete lock down in the hangars."

>_>

Hnn... Well then. Proto shall we head off to the east tower?

*Nana was likely going to use a portal to get them there, just in case there were a couple droids still in the streets; it was safer that way. Then the nanoskin could do its stuff, and Proto could go back to his normal duties and hobbies. Hopefully Mastema would find out what went wrong, and in short order*

Proto simply saluted. He wasn't quite sure what Nana intended to do, but he had no real reason to do anything else if the children were safe. Maybe by now even Trilla had calmed down enough to get some rest.

"Now if I may be excused...." V5 simply commented and started moving again, his footsteps having a heavy thump from the weight of all the equipment it carried; it was a wonder the thing could move as fast as it did in battle.

*With the nanoskin covering everything, Nana would soon find out, all she could do was get a small sample of the skin and then leave it be to finish repairing Proto. Mastema would have something new to poke at for a while, once Nana got the sample to him. For this Valentine's day, it certainly was a mixxed bag of good and bad. At least the night was still young if anything*

With the end of that day also came a long end to any disruptions in the citadel. Upon further investigation, Mastema could find no trace of what happened in Zio's memory banks that day. Analysis of the pieces V5 had brought in did reveal anamolous pieces of data in the droid's programming; however, the purpose of the program, how it caused the drones to act as they did, and how it was placed there was never discovered. At the very least, there were no traces of a similar thing having been placed in any other units. As long as the Vanguard didn't become infected by this thing, Mastema had little reason to fear anyway.

On one night long after the party, a light tremor would shake the citadel in the dead of night. At its height there would be a light shaking of anything in the citadel, but probaby not enough to wake anyone up earlier than expected. Still, the next morning, there were going to be a few interesting changes found in the region....

Nnn....

*Nana was still sleeping peacefully beside Mastema, slightly sprawled. Her right arm was at rest across Mastema's upper chest, leaving her hand to limply curl when it rested against his pillow. At least the expression on her face was peaceful given the regiment she and the children had been put through over the past while. Mastema had them all on some speed magic course, and it was helping, that much was for sure. Nana had also learned a new portal method, which she then taught to the children. From there Mastema made sure that such magics could be used and exicuted in no more than five seconds. Lets face it, if you're being shot at, you want to get out of the line of fire as soon as possible, but more on that later. Elsewhere in the Citadel there was a little bit of life bustling. Micha was already down in the cafeteria eating breakfast, as was Eecheb. Trilla was still in her room, taking a shower and making herself pretty*

Such was the mark of a skilled commander, being able to maintain his command and its condition while simultaneously being able to handle a woman. Or at least that's what Mastema was getting good at; as Nana slept beside him, he was already running over scans and data recordings. Whatever tremor came over the citadel hadn't come from any major system, nor was it the mass driver sending anything off. Mastema would have to get a visual report of everything in the citadel eventually, to see if anything had happened. That would be left up to manual labor. For now, Mastema lifted up Nana's hand to plant a brief kiss on it. A moment later, he lightly turned Nana on her back before leaning over her and placing a deep kiss on her lips. Nana was probably fated to wake up that way.

Proto had resumed his normal self. A day or two after the nanoskin had first appeared, it softened and became easy to tear away, leaving no trace of him ever having been damaged. Still, it was never really discovered why this system had come online when it did. Proto, having never shut down, was equally curious as to what caused the tremors, and he set out to do his own investigation.

N-nn.... Hn.

*At least it was one of many pleasant ways to be awakend if anything. Once Nana realized what was going on, of course a warm blush would appear across her visage. The hand that was once across Mastema's chest would find its way to the back of his neck and head. The morning was starting off on a good note. The news of the tremor would likely pass as light morning conversation, before breakfast and a likely visit to the Mind to see what could be viewed as damage or 'changes' from there. The children would likely hear news of the tremor aswell, sometime soon. Until then, they would continue as normal*

At any rate, it didn't seem like Mastema was going to be bringing and end to the kiss before Nana let him go. At least in the tower it wasn't likely they'd have to worry about being bothered much.

Traversing the citadel, Proto couldn't help but hear the after burners of Vanguard 5 in the distance. It didn't take long to figure out that he'd returned from being outside of the barrier either. Proto's hope was to uncover the cause of the tremors, since it was rare to have an earthquake in this area - unless Nana was unbelievably angry. However, seeing as the tower still had 100 floors, that was even less likely. Even though there was a high probability he'd find the cause after searching in the citadel, Proto couldn't shake one feeling in the back of his head. Next, he started head in the direction V5 had just returned from, outside of the citadel.

*Finally finished with her mornings regiment, Trilla would get dressed and head down to eat some breakfast with her brothers. Micha and Eecheb were almost finished however, but that was ok. The children could also socialize, and chatter about the things they had been learning. Their lessons had been continuing regularly and they had built up a list of spells, both for offensive and defensive use. If they had been doing well, then ever so often Nana would throw in a fun, surprise spell. Something simple like the first spell they ever learned for lighting up a room. Everything was useful in one form or another, so all the better*

*After an undisclosed amount of time passed, the children would disperse themselves through out the Citadel, and would continue to explore. Today Trilla was following Eecheb in secret, hiding when it was neccessary though by now the boy was able to pick up on those around him. At one point he would hide himself until Trilla passed by, after that Eecheb had Trilla in a headlock and a minor scuffle ensued. Oddly enough they seemed to get along after that, though Eecheb had made Trilla cry. Perhaps in realization that he'd hurt her, he decided to play nice or face a scolding later. Either way, now the two were headed towards the gym. Micha meanwhile was in the west, now that the snow was long gone he had taken up an interest in the Peace. The trees were full of leaves, and tall unkempt grass made it past his knees. If there were flowers, there were very few. Without a good wind to spread self seeding flowers, they appeared to stay in only one area or would die off. Flowers that required bugs to pollinate them, were non-existant all together. That being said, the Citadel had no visible insect life, nor bird or other creatures save for one curious wolf that wandered in, and a mystery shadowish creature*

Mugiri wandered the Citadel once again. He had made it second-nature to know these streets. This place seemed normal to him now, the memories of his home an ephemeral paradise that existed only in his memories. Today, he was up with the sun, and was in the west when it rose.

He wondered when he might contact his master again. It seemed that Mastema always knew where he was, but barely ever cared. His children were more interested in their home then Mastema, or so Mugiri mused. Mastema was too odd for Mugiri to understand. Maybe it was the cloud of power around him that made Mastema so unbelievable.

Mugiri sat down in a patch of grass, eating a can of beans found in the city, one of the last of its kind. He ate noisily, his manners crude from ill-contact.

*Being in the west, Mugiri had to watch himself. This was Nana's part of the Citadel, and Mastema had made it clear to stay away from that part of the city. Micha was in the west aswell, though too far away for Mugiri to visit. Eecheb and Trilla meanwhile had made it to the gym and were playing with a large set of medacine and exercising balls. One was small and heavy where the other was large and light. Just one wonder of that building; it was nice it had been maintained somewhat*

After spending some time with Nana after her romantic awakening, Mastema had opted to get to work on whatever it was he worked on these days. Nana said she had plans to do something with the kids today, so likely she'd spend the rest of her morning rounding them up for that plan.

"Of all the odd things to come out of the blue...." Sho muttered to himself, walking down the citadel roads toward the main tower. There really wasn't much to talk about, but it did seem only fair to bring it to Mas's attention. As he neared the bottom of the tower, in the distance, Sho saw another form walking toward the tower from the opposite side. As they got nearer, Sho smiled and raised his hand in greeting to the other, before his face returned to a somewhat solemn look. "You too?"

Slayer, having responded to Sho's greetings, simply nodded. "Dangit, this stuff doesn't just happen out of the blue..." Sho sighed, walking up to the entrance. At least it wasn't just him then. "I feel we have little to worry about, yet, but it would be only fair to inform Mastema." Slayer commented while walking up the stairs.

-------------------------------------------------

Proto was now outside of the citadel. It was much more vulnerable out here, but the citadel had enjoyed a rather long lasting peace as of recent. He had travelled some distance though, since V5 had returned from this direction and Proto still had found nothing of interest. After nearly ten minutes of travelling away from the citadel, Proto suddenly paused, realizing how conspicuous it was that he'd come across nothing at all. Forming a link with one of the satellites, Proto retrieved a map of the immediate area as it was just days ago.

Why was it that he was flying over flatlands....... when the map said he should be over a mountain range by now.....
