You know, it amazes me what they teach in high school these days! O:
They're experimenting with DNA in senior year now (at some schools), and doing the same stuff I'm doing now. When I was in senior year, DNA was like... graduate level stuff in college!
Of course, I was 15, and that was like 18 years ago.

Nonsense, Kae is still in her prime! x3 But I know what you mean, my dad used to help me with my math homework, but once I got in high school, I was having to explain the problems to him. >>; Hair question, punk streak or ponytail?

-has just come back from learning about recombinant plasmids-
We get to work with plasmid vectors and DNA fragments on Wednesday! 8D

Plasmids... like Bioshock plasmids? You're not gonna create something that will allow people to incinerate things with a snap of their fingers are you? <<

Well, I don't know about Bioshock plasmids. Never heard of those.
We'll be working with plasmid vectors, which are just a means to carry DNA for uptake into E. coli. That's how you replicate DNA, mostly.
That's mostly how you create insulin. It's mostly made inside E. coli (or some bacteria), because DNA is inserted into a cell that tells it to make insulin. Then you just grow more cells, and they make more insulin. It's really quite interesting.

EDIT :: Heroes season may end early! D: So sad... ;o;
EDIT 2 :: I just noticed - I say 'mostly' a lot. xP

aww... it's not the writers' fault, though... it's the greedy networks/studios/etc.
they won't give residuals for internet streams and downloads, and the writers get only 4 cents of a DVD sale. it's really not fair to them at all. u_u
so i can sympathize. meanwhile, i love mah show! and i don't want it to end early.
