I wish I didn't have to explain myself. I wish everyone could just know I was the boy named Kite. Someday you won't have to, honey. Until then, I offer hugs and a punching bag. :-
I second the hugs, the punching bag I'll take to sell to contribute to my fund to make more time to study.
Kap: What exactly are they doing that's so unsupportive?

If I don't die of boredom, I will surely die from low grades, or embarassment from it. I know I do enjoy most of my classes, but it's the sheer amount of paperwork, readings, websites, passwords, usernames and random other crap that I have to keep in mind. That was no bloody pinch of salt, they brought the whole sack.
The halls are more crowded than ever, moreso because I'm in three juniour classes. Do these people not understand that there's 450 of them moving out, while another 450 try to make their way in? You do not stand in the doorway, or slip into the back of the classroom while class is going on, because there's no sodding room. I know it's a big lecture hall, but it's big for a reason. There's double doors because people need to get out and go to their next class, not stand for the 10 or 15 minutes they need to get there. I swear, we need a rope and make lines so we can file orderly in and out.
Furthermore, the first years this year and, apparently, the year before my class got way more stuff than we did. USB hubs for all the first years, when you know a good portion of them will drop out before the end of the year? What about the rest of us that are committed to staying and working on our 4+ years? Or the Art Department that had to be evacuated, and the fire department called up, because of a fume leak.
It doesn't matter that it was in the summer, or that few students were there. There was a children's summer course scheduled! I lost a good deal of a course. And it was all because the U had to turn off the ventilation fans on weekends to save money. Yet they have enough to give what amounts to tens of thousands to students from whom they haven't seen a cent from. My parents are loaning me the money to fuel my little foray into the career of my choice, so it's really money out of my pocket from books, tuition, and everything else along the way and I see no perks or little trifle being used to shut me up. For crying out loud, an entire department's safety, quite possibly my life and everyone up there is worth more to me than a damn hub. Apparently, not to the University.
That must be the fifth time I've ranted about this. I just want to see what I know is hard-earned money go to use where it counts.
