It was almost like the gardens called out to her. Desiree once more walked alone one of the hundreds of paths that the gardens offered her, not paying any attention to where she was going. The gardens was the only place she could go and feel at least somewhat better about her situation. As she continued to walk, Desiree didn't come across anyone so, thinking she could be alone, again, she moved toward a large fountain to sit down on the edge. Like usual, she pulled out on of her flutes, lifting it to her lips, and began to play a light yet sad melody.

continuing his sketch he was inturupted by the odd alure of a soft melody coming form what he could only asume to be his imagination This place is having a stranger effect on me then i thought... he thought to himself as he put his pencil back in his pocket standing up with his pad in his hand he looked around before wondering towards what he hopped would be the source of the music.... Such a haunting melody.. he muttered.

When playing her music, Desiree would always loose her sense of time and reality, often never realizing that people approach her or forgetting where she was. It's what she did best and would often do when her emotions were high. So naturally, she still believed herself alone in the gardens, not even the splashing water behind her desturbing her music.

Approaching the next clearing in the gardan path he could see a figure almost atpeace with her surroundings she was so lost in her music staying in the shadows for a moment he simple listened to the music appriciating the lovly sound before approaching slowly as to not satartle whom ever it was. ...Where did you learn to...play like that he spoke gentle with kindness in his eyes. sensing her strong emotional attachment to the notes.

After finishing her song, Desiree held the flute on her lap, her senses slowly returning to the world around her. The voice to her side surprised her causing her to jump slightly but, thankfully, not enough to make her tumble backwards into the water. "I...I taught myself..a long time ago," she replied.

Desiree could feel a slight blush come to her cheeks but she just waved it away. It was silly to do such a thing from a simple compliment. "No, it's alright. I was only playing because I...because I was bored." She didn't want to say she was lonely. It made her sound desparate. "If you want...I could play something for you."

Desiree opened her mouth to say that he didn't have to but she stopped herself. No one had played for her before but rather it was the other way around. Why not indulge a little and listen to the music of another? She nodded lightly then opened her mind to his music.

Nodding slowly as if he expected her to try and stop him but reconsider he began with a rather low slow note and continued in to a song that almost seemed to draw the mist in the air around him out of sadness...each note spoke of regret and past that he knew he would never live down it continued for a moment like this before a tear rolled down his eyes and he was forced to stop and wipe away the tear letting go the redness that had formed in his face from holding back the tears with a deep breath and a sigh It wasn't as pretty as yours, but it helped me through some pretty rough stuff so i learn to like it. he smiled slightly cluching the harmonica in his hands looking up at the stars for a moment then over at the young ladie.

Desiree listened quietly, her mind and ears picking up on the sadness. She didn't know why or how, but she had always been acute to the emotions created through and by music. As of now, she could feel herself wanting to cry despite the fact that she had no real reason to. "It was wonderful," she said quietly when he finished. "You remind me a little of myself, pouring emotions into music in order to get through them."

Nodding respectfully at her compliment he laughed inside alittle Well i think it goes without saying that we've all got stuff to be ashamed of.... we just happen to enjoy music and use that to help us through the rough times. I don't know if my songs are that emotional though..... i've always been tod music should sound happy to people are happy when they hear it...but i just can't seem to play anything but my own sad little melody's. he lend on his right foot placing both hands in his pockets and kicking his left foot at a pebble neaar his foot trying to avoid coming off akward.

Desiree tilted her head a little to the side, her gaze off in the distance. "I've always disliked playing music for the sake of entertainment. If I play...it is what I want to play, audience or not." She shook her head a little then looked to him. "I suppose I should at least introduce myself to keep from being rude. My name's Desiree."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 28, 2006 8:13 pm

well, i wouldn't call this entertainment...it was me trying to....nevermind.... he cut himself off right there before getting to personal, discreetly wiping the sweat from his hands on the inside of his pocket he offered a hand as he lifted his gaze form the dirt on the ground to meet her's Desiree huh?...what a fitting name for the maiden of the moon. I'm harley he stated with a reassuring nod

Desiree took his hand and smiled a little. "It's a pleasure to meet you." She then tilted her head a little, smiled slightly, and shrugged. "Though I doubt I'm a maiden of anything. I'm just a normal person." Who happened to be friends with royalty but she didn't feel like mentioning that. "I suppose you're new around here?"
