Shinji bit his lip, trembling softly, not something one would notice. I...was there...and here...at the same time...he squeeked, understanding now why Tristian acted the way he did.

"why didn't you tell me about this before....? why didn't you tell me you could be in two places at once...?" she wasn't angry, just confused and worried that if he'd not told her about this then maybe there were other things he'd not told her about either.

He shook his head, digging his fingernails into his upper arms as he continued to silently yell at himself. I don't know...he whispered after a moment, finding no real reason why he shouldn't have told her when she knew most other things about him anyways. I was scared i guess...his body started to visibly shake now, and he shook his head and let his head fall almost level with his shoulders, his emotion level causing the lights to flicker some. But I promise you, that was the first time I'd used it...and I swear to you that I am sorry...He spoke through clenched teeth, an attempt to keep himself from sobbing.

"I know you are..." Lena said quietly, nodding as she spoke though it did no good since Shinji wasn't looking at her. She moved closer to him and brushed through his hair with her fingers as she repeated "I know you are...."

Shinji kept his teeth clenched tightly, still trembling rather horribly. I wouldn't worry too much if I were you though...he said under his breath, his eyes not ready to look to Lena. Opheliah and her brother hate me, and I'm sure her boyfriend does too...

"that's not what I'm worried about..." Lena shifted some, keeping her hands clasped in her lap, she looking to Shinji as she said "I'm worried about how you feel about her..."

Shinji paused a moment, refusing to breath or let his heart beat. He sighed and shook his head as his body returned to it's functions, and he sighed softly. I don't know how I feel about her...he said, barely audible though the room was silent.

Lena let out a sigh before saying "I kinda figured that was what you were gonna say...." she then stood up and moved over to sit down in one of the chairs, rather than stay on the floor.

Shinji felt stuck, now. He didn't want to hurt Lena anymore, he hated how Opheliah was interested in him but denying it, and he hated how he didn't know what to do about it. Sitting in silence, the thought of what his father would do. That was a bad idea, though, because his father would keep both girls and disreguard the fact that they weren't friends and probably disliked eachother. He shook his head as he continued to silently ponder. He didn't want to be like his dad, but sometimes, it seemed as though that would be best.

Lena pulled her legs up against her chest and rested her chin on her knees. She looked down at Shinji, watching him as he sat there silently.

He heaved a sigh and shook his head again before looking up to Lena. He was at a loss, in more ways than one.

"Shinji..." Lena muttered, she took a deep breath and let it out in almost a sigh before continuing "I still love you.... and I always will.... but I don't know what to do... I need to know that you feel the same about me.. and that I'm the only one you feel that way about..."

Shinji stayed silent, unsure what he should say. He wanted to tell Lena she had nothing to worry about, and tha the loved her and only her, but he wasn't sure if that was true. It killed him inside to think like that, but how else was he supposed to think?
