I'm one of the two French Horns at my high school, and we're both in the Honor Band/Wind Ensemble. I'm a Freshman and only started playing in 6th grade. The French Horn is awesome, and all who play it are in an ELITE CORE! biggrin

I play French Horn but, my stupid band director forced me to play mello then after school starts," Oh, you've never played trumpet? Well I thought all of you did." uh.... no. I'm the only one out of my section of 5 to ACTUALLY be able to play horn. The other idiot thinks he can but.... um.... lets see... NO! Hehehe...

I love playing horn. Both mello and french horn. Although the first week of band camp, my arms felt like they were about to fall off. But yeah. Mello and Horn= heart

well duh. of course we are awesome! im in 8th grade and cant wait to do marching band next year! ive been first chair french horn every year since my band did chair tests! i love to play my fhorn sooooo much!!!!!!!!! my band director plays the horn too and she is the best band director ever! obviously-since she plays the french horn she is awesome too! all the horns at my school are crazy-including MWA! rofl

I loves my French Horn and My Mellzo. (i say it w/ a 'z' cuz it's fun.)
I named my mellzo Lovell
and my French Horn Kira.
They're my babies.
I went to this concert once, for FBA, and my friend Billy and i were the only two from our high school who decided to stay and watch Santa Fe, our ally band.
The Lead French Horn player was fantasmical.
His sound rang through all our bones, and imbedded itself inside of my soul.
It is now my very inspiration as a 1st part player.
Oh, dear. I rambled.

Masquanade I WAS going to play F Horn . . . my director made my class choose brass instruments (I wanted to play flute oringally) and so I was down to trumpet and horn and I went with trumpet becuase the case was easier to carry. xp That's horrible . . . I know whee then why are you on the french horn forum thingy??? just asking confused smile

bexterzblue Woot! Frech Horn Rocks !!! xd I'm not section leader, but that's ok. Mello is ok too. I just don't really like the sound a mello makes. they make the same sound...

I just don't really like the sound a mello makes. they make the same sound... actually, they dont. Mellophone has more edge to it, and sounds brassier. while Horn has a darker, rounder tone.
