It's not so much that I'm trying to say Eric is -only- human, because he certainly isn't. What I mean is that, at the start of any given fight, he has the following abilities.
Eight-Deadly Points
Summon Tiger's Tail
Improved Evasion
Dodge Training
Weapon Profieciency
His ability to bring the staff out is supernatural, so that makes him more than human outright. However, the staff is also his biggest flaw...after seeing it in playtest. The charges can be gained too quickly, and are giving too much benefit for what it takes to gain them.
When it comes to Eric himself, I think of him as being like the RPM gauge in the dash of your car; it will shoot up to about 5-6 if you punch the gas, but then always settles back down to around 2-3. As he fights, and manifests his Fury abilities, he "forgets" how to use techniques...So, at 15 Fury, if he uses his paralzing tech then he immedieately drops back to 5 Fury; losing access to that move, and several others as well.
I want to toy with the idea of his duality in my rebuild; making the staff (which once belonged to Dithikar) feed on Fury, and supress it in some way. But, in exchange, it has its own abilities that can be manifested through it. Or, if wants to fight H2H, he has to forgo the staff and let his anger build. In this way, his "weapon Mode", and "H2H Mode", are balanced by his need to focus primarily on one or the other.
