Seeing the motion for him to come over, he gave a nod as if he would, but continued to carefully push at certain areas in the massive skeleton with his foot in hopes of taking a piece along. It was very, very hard to do so without arms though.

"Doing . . . o-okay . . . methinks."

This was followed by dangerous wobbling in which a leg was stuck out to keep him balanced.

He must have looked silly, maybe even disrespectful. Mort hoped no-one considered the latter just because his body picked inappropriate times to fall apart.

"Will go home soon, too. Just need to do this. And pin too. But when get back, Mort needs get better . . ."

Whisper appeared in the room with only one goal; to pay her respects to Red. There would be plenty of time later for the pleasantries that were usually associated with the joy of victory and the sadness of grieving. She approached the the shattered pieces of her fallen hero and fell to her knees, unable to control her shaking body. She fell forward onto the skull, trying to wrap her arms tightly around whatever she could get a grip on. She didn't care who could see her falling apart. If one listened close enough, they could probably hear words that were barely forming between sobs. "I'm so sorry, I wish I could have done something...I had so many questions, so many things l wanted to learn from you. I won't forget you, I could never forget you even if I tried. You will always be a part of me. Always."

The place where her face rested was soaked with tears, and she found it hard to peel herself away. She knew the moment she let go, she could never go back. She would have to begin moving forward. No one would miss her if she just stayed here forever...right? Her brain gave her a mental face slap. How dare she even debate leaving her loved ones behind because she was grieving. If she went through with staying behind, she would hate herself. Hell, she was sure everyone would hate her too.

Whisper wiped her face, slowly drawing in a deep breath. She noticed the pins lacing the skull, and thought it was absolutely beautiful. It was debatable if Red would think the same, but it was all with the best intentions. She pulled out one of her own and added it to the collage.

The ghoul stood, barely able to keep her footing through her shaking, and looked over the ashen battleground. She would take a token of her own, something she would keep with her forever. She moved over to one of the horns, and took a swing.

She didn't even flinch when his hand brushed the burnt flesh of her back. She hurt all over, but mostly inside. The panic, the fear, the desperation... they all built up into a big bubble of pain inside of her chest, about where her heart was located. Somehow, this feeling was more permanent than that feeling of being stabbed in the chest when he'd told her that they were over. Those may not have been his exact words, but... they'd stabbed at her. Those feelings had turned into anger, bitterness, vengeance..before they were ever sadness. These feelings had hit sadness like it was the broad side of a bus and it was an oncoming car.

Her fingers dug against his shoulders - as gently as possible for someone in a desperately sad place - as his arms tightened around her. The tears on her face smeared the ash that she'd rubbed across it, giving her a very....unkept appearance, not that anybody would blame her.

"It isn't fair.... she died for us...she hardly knew any of us..and she died for us.." she whispered. "There was fire, there were people with weapons trying to kill everybody, screaming about us not supposing to exist, chaos everywhere, I'd lost you and was worried that they'd ganged up on you too, and then Red went down and.." she sniffled.

"I was really scared you were gone too." she whispered, her tone terrified.

The way Eris saw the whole scene had been..surprisingly accurate, to be frank. But like War, he allowed the silence to wash over their group, even as there were those who were leaving. He would stay a while longer until they had all assembled, then they could move again. It had been a single night, yet it felt like eternity since the Horsemen had moved as a whole unit.

But perhaps that was they they were a nuisance and not a threat.

They would have to work on that.

The horn cracked, that was a good sign. Hopefully this streak of luck would continue, and she would be able to get a sizable piece to keep as a memento.

As the door had appeared, and students began to leave the area, Astra stayed behind for a while longer, not wanting to leave the area just yet. Considering once she did, she wouldn't get to see her professor anymore...

However, she soon saw many of the students leave their emblems in a pile as a lasting tribute, and the action touched her deeply. Students whom didn't even know her that well were leaving theirs...

Walking over to the pile, Astra summoned her own special pin, and placed it with the others.

"Thankyou Red...Thankyou..."

With that said, she ventured towards the door.

It cracked once more, almost giving way. She was so close, hopefully she wouldn't smash the piece too hard. She would hate for it to be ruined.

With the final hit, a piece roughly the size of her palm fell into her hand. Whisper held it to her face, overjoyed that she would have something other then her memories to remember Red by.

As West turned and started to walk away towards the doors Mandy hesitated, staring at the remains before her. Everyone was giving her their emblems... but emblems where for the living. The dead had no use for such things. Still... the sentiment...

Letting out a breath Mandy reached around and untied the knot on her tooth belt, one of her constant companions. She'd made it herself, collected every tooth on it. It was dear...

She laid the belt before the skull, bowing to do so.

Her respects paid, Mandy turned and caught up to West.

"Shall we head home now...?" she asked the boil as he paused before the door.

She was ready, but if he wasn't, she would wait.

Entering from Couch Domain

Stepping out on to the field, Mei stared at what appeared to be the horrible truth--Red really was dead. Hesitating, she slowly made her way over to the remains of her former teacher. This was supposed to be a field trip! How could something like this even happen!? Did the school faculty know what they were up against?

Biting at her lower lip, she knelt down by Red's remains as she approached. Emblems were displayed all over the place--left in tribute to their professor..former professor. Pressing her hand to the skull, left an emblem of her own. It was the least she could do--to show respect to Red. These hunters..would pay. One way or another.

User Image

Getting to her feet, she glanced about the field for Bul. Even though the boil was easy to tell apart, there was just too many students on the field to pick him out immediately. And her team--did they all make it okay? She knew that some had shared a similar fate as her. She would need to make sure, she needed to see them all.

((entering from Couch domain))

From a distance, the ghoul could see Lizzy and Lattice standing at where Red's skull lay. Quietly, she approached them, keeping her silence even when Lizzy uttered an apology. Her eyes were on the behemoth's skull – Red's skull. The ghoul stretched her hand out to touch it, retracting slightly before she did but then decided that she could proceed. It felt stone cold. There was no evidence of life left from the giant that terrorized the battle field just moments ago. She was gone, Professor Red.

Amidst the monochrome glistened a number of student's pins – a thoughtful and worthy gesture for their fallen teacher. Edel didn't know if she had the right to do the same. Instead, she knelt before the skull, head hung as she uttered a prayer. Then slowly, thoughtfully, the frost demon formed a wreath of flowers made of ice beside the skull.

It wouldn't last, but her memory would.

Standing, Edel gave the skull a lingering look. She daren't utter a call for vengeance, though that was on her mind. Professor Red had given them a chance to live, to return to Halloween. They would need to build up themselves, and fight back. Edel felt bitterness for how underwhelming they were. The hunters had organisation, training, technology. Halloween was unprepared and oblivious. There were so few of them hunters yet for now, they had won the battle. All these years, she had been unaware of the existence of such a threat. How sheltered and clueless she was.

The ghoul finally turned to face Lizzy and Lattice, though she couldn't say a word.

Jack had finally answered his prayers. Bul watched as Mei approached the small shrine of students' pins and waited till she had paid her respects before rushing over- with a small limp albeit- and panting from over exerting himself.

The half beast approached his ghoulfriend covered in scabs and well.. nothing else really. "mei...

MEI~" Bul cooed out as he stumbled towards her with arms wide open. Of all the things he wanted now that it was all over he wanted to hold her most. Even in this battered and bruised state he had nothing else to wait for. She was finally here and he could leave this desolate place in peace. "Oh Mei, I'm so sorry I just- Mei~"

Bul was too happy for intelligent words.

The hollowed remains became more colorful as students paid their respects. Some students left their emblems on top of her skull (or in Toby and her seeing-eye Scareon's case, next to it). Others left a token of their own: a red flower from the Heir of Death, a feather from the Heir of War, an elaborate robe from the Heir of Conquest. A belt complete with teeth made by a student lay near the skull next to a wreath of flowers made out of ice.

The professor's remains began to show wear from the students. But even then the professor's remains still lingered; there was still plenty behind, too much to carry back to Halloween. The area surrounding Red's resting place was still in grey scale; it seemed as if color would never come back.

Part of the ashes around the skull were moist; someone had left an offering of food, drink, and health. Anyone who looked within the smooth hollowed skull would even spy an uncrushed pumpkin pill. It was by sheer luck it was intact -- someone was overzealous earlier with Red's skull. A large portion of the top of her skull near where her nostrils would be was broken off, carelessly turned into a pile of ash. A few of the student pins were also mingled into the ash, half-buried within it.

SO YOU WANT A TROPHY?
Red's skull is solid stone. It's not going to be easy to grab a piece. And given that the skull belonged to a 30-foot tall behemoth, it's impossible to move. The skull is large enough that Red could have easily eaten someone in one bite. That's how big we're talking about here.

If you have your heart set on collecting a piece, it looks like you'll need to break a piece off.

To do so:
Quote:

You have your choice of skull, horn, or back plate. The only difference is in the color:
Horns: Black
Skull: Blackish-Grey (not quite black, but light enough to not really be grey either)
Back plate: Whiteish-grey. Not pure white, but certainly lighter than the skull.

You must attack it (Y1s 2d6, Y2s 2d8, Horsemen 2d10). And hit it three times in a row. If you miss, it means you hit it too hard and turned it into ash. Upon missing, the piece you were trying to get has broken off; you must try again from the start.

You have three chances. After that, please cease and let your teacher rest in peace.

Junko was keeping her distance from everyone, keeping her back turned and her hands over her face. She was upset, but more importantly she was ashamed. She'd lost her cool in front of everyone not once, not twice but at least three times that she could remember. That was not proper for a young lady! Not at all! Especially not when something that would be preferred was calm, cool and collected. But Junko was none of those things right now. She was a wreck. Her head hurt, her chest hurt, her arms and chest and hands and parts of her face had burns all over them on top of smeared blood all over her face that wasn't even her own blood; her hair was singed, her clothes were falling apart, and she felt ready to just throw up right where she stood she was that unhappy. Her shoulders shook with forcefully quiet sobs as she tried not to bring anymore unwanted attention to herself. She just wanted to go home. Maybe take a long shower and then an even longer nap. But no. They were stuck here.

...Why were people cheering? Junko heard the cries of happiness and her heart leapt in her throat. They weren't Red's name, so it wasn't that. They were the names and voices of students who--

"Junko!"

Seiji. Junko's hands shook and her heart raced as she turned to see where he was. It couldn't be her imagination. No way. He had to be here. He had to-- "SEIJI!" She cried when wide glowing eyes spotted him, taking all of one step before he had reached her and picked her up. Her breath escaped her in a forced gasp as he crushed her against him, not caring even in the slightest as she eagerly returned the kiss he was giving her. The cold skin, the soft hair, the tight hold of his arms but the gentle touch of his hands. This. He was real. He was here. He was back. Something was right again. He didn't even need to worry about her breaking their kiss, because there was no way Junko was going to allow herself to end it after the s**t she had just gone through. An arm was clutched around his neck and a hand was buried in his hair, gripping the back of his head in her desperate cling to the boil. She even went as far as to force her hair to curl around his body even being oblivious to his lack of any clothing whatsoever. She did not care.

Finally it was he who ended it and she gasped quietly for air when he did, her eyes opening again to look upon the face that had been so sorely missed during this entire fiasco. Her Seiji. Hers. He was here, holding her and talking and being alive. Or as alive as a ghost could get. Her emotions finally caught up with her again as her eyes filled with tears and her shoulders shook, leaning in to bury her face hard against his neck and clinging to him in any way she could with her arms, her legs and even her hair as she tried to shrink against Seiji and hide her sobs. "I-ahah-I'm so sor-sah-sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" She cried into his neck, fingers clenching so nails dug into his shoulder and pressed hard against the back of his head. "I-I'm s-so so-sorry! It'sallmyfauuuuuult!" Not...this incident..but the fact that she let him come. That she left him and he got hurt, and he died again. It was all her fault. All her ******** fault.

"Ijustwannagohome." Junko whimpered pathetically, continuing to cry and just let out every last bit of hurt and frustration she had left. It was better she get it out now than cry the entire way home...if they made it home. She had yet to notice there was now a doorway out of this damn place.

Wait. This place. Junko suddenly lifted her head and looked around until she saw what was left of Red. The movements of so many students had disturbed the ash, and there were pieces missing here and there from students taking bits of her for keepsake. Junko didn't want to ruin her anymore...but the ash...she needed something to carry it in. But what? Maybe if she ripped off one of her pant legs and filled it like a pouch? She wouldn't mind that. She hated pants anyway. "Se-Seiji canyouhelpme?" She managed to get out between heaving breaths, gesturing to the skull. Junko paused. Did...did Seiji know...? "Seiji...Red...she...she's..I.." She whimpered and brought a hand to her mouth to bite down on one of her knuckles. She didn't want to say it anymore. Oh please, Jack no.

West just poked her hard in the arm, ouch. "Watch where you are..." Right where Savior had cut them all earlier. His was gone? "How did ya manage to heal that?" Holly knew he'd been cut previously too but that had taken some time to heal. Huh.

The boil seemed to be helping another student, or two really, out now. Oh! It was Mandy, she had met the ghoul once or twice before. "Good to see ya are okay Mandy!" The ghoul motioned to Savior to follow, if she would. She followed with the small group towards the door. Sadly she didn't hear Levi at all.

"I for one and ready to get out of this Jacking place." Hopefully the door lead home and not to another infernal place with something trying to kill them.

Tess had somehow managed to pull herself together, her entrails now kept safe within her body. Her wings had disappeared, as did her fangs, and her tongue was no longer hollow or straw-like. Just in time as the fire once again enveloped them, only... she didn't feel any heat. In fact, it was almost... pleasant. Almost.

The undead had no words to say. She wasn't... familiar with Red, other than that one time where she'd spoken to the Gym Professor for help in finding her legs. While so many of her fellow students seemed to be mourning their teacher's passing, all Tess felt was regret. She wished she could have simply stayed behind. She'd done nothing of worth, learned nothing she didn't already know, and was now witness to something that should have been heart-breaking and tear-inducing. But crimson eyes stayed dry, even when she went to approach Red's corpse once the gathering of students had thinned out.

Roch looked at the ghouls that expected him to take them with him a bit blankly. He watched as Xiu headed towards them, her attention on the ghouls. But hell, that was how it should be, he thought as he reached down, touching Amrita's arm.

"I gotta get my G," he said seriously. He looked around, seeing Danny being carried and Moure by the door. "You guys go on. The sooner you get home, the better."

He had no jackin' idea where Rikki was, he thought as he looked around. For a moment he gritted his teeth, certain that the hunters had gotten him--but no. They'd have put him in those cages. Roch woulda seen him, and the group would have gotten him out. He was probably home already, cuddling with his cute little ghoulfriend. Which was only right.

He caught sight of the viking couple, a sneer pulling at his lips. He hoped they found a room somewhere and that annoying lumberjack exploded because they were too idiotic to use protection. He wasn't about to tell them about it.

"Oye!! GEE!!" he bellowed, stepping away from the girls. "Where are you, big guy?" It was time to reclaim what was his. And, just in case, "RIKKI!! Bro, you here?? I'm leavin' without you if you don't reply!"
