You know what always annoyed me because it doesn't fit into the narrative, but everybody feels compelled to write it in because they think it adds power to what they're writing when...it doesn't?
"There was 180/230/600 pounds of badass put behind the attack."
I mean, if we want to get down to the nuts and bolts of it, no there wasn't. But just using such phrasing as a tool...It doesn't give anywhere near the same feeling as saying, "the hulking badass threw the entirety of his weight behind his blow."
I know why people do it. The former allows them to cop out when s**t hits the fan, but...Whatever, I shouldn't rant in public.

Quote: In classical mechanics, linear momentum or translational momentum (pl. momenta; SI unit kg m/s, or, equivalently, N s) is the product of the mass and velocity of an object. You're an idiot. Also, I only give the mass a number so he can relate it to his own, as opposed simply being able to go "HAHA PUNY WOMAN BOUNCE OFF MY BURLY CHEST".

You didn't even get the point I was trying to make. Like, it completely and totally went over your head. This is why most competitive RP is boring to read. But I guess most of us aren't really trying to be entertaining as much as we're trying to just one-up somebody else with our flawed interpretation of physics. If you had simply wrote your character as being powerful and comparable in size you wouldn't have to rely on posting a number which in application isn't even being used in the right way. Next time don't get so defensive when I wasn't even specifically referring to you.

I see you went to the Darth school of argumentative thought.
"My point." > Direct quote from accepted thought on the subject, disproving point. "That wasn't my point."
Alrighty then.

Considering Darth and I went to school for virtually the same thing I can understand how our method of arguing our points might be similar.
But let's just look at it.
My point is about writing and stylization. I'm not trying to argue anything about physics. I instead post an alternative way of writing the same thing you did that I feel would be more fitting for reader imagery.
You respond with a quote about physics, which I was never arguing about, and inferring that I'm arguing against said physics.
In short, you weren't even on the same page. I'm talking about language, you're talking about, "wah wah someone hurt my feelings."

I'm not going to make a stance in this argument, since I've not seen the offending situation unfold.
..buttttt, I'd be more prone to believe the viewpoints of a raging Indian and a dumb MLP chick than a dude who screams at elves and dies to a bear. cool
It's simply credentials.
You got "guy who tends to make his voice heard and has opinionated views he backs adamantly."
You got "chick who does nothing but argue and write pony fan-fiction."
Then you got "guy who dies to bear and I guess won one GTB against like.. The Naruto Wolf Clan."
You'll need reinforcements is what I'm saying. At the moment, you're light.

As far as this argument, or I guess more on what KB said recently and somewhat regarding what Molestia just said.
I think that the trick isn't
"Don't include a lot of technical information"
I think the best practice is learning how to include that important information artfully among your post so that it doesn't take away from the narrative and the feeling your post is trying to evoke. You also have to anticipate what information is essential to draw a accurate picture of the action your character is doing.

I remember being there for that bear...
I remember trying to use Harmony to make everyone "STAHP HERTEN EACH UDDER!!"...
And then, I remember being ignooooooored. sweatdrop
Admittedly, it was a ******** bear...So, in the end, maybe things worked out for the best. pirate

It wasn't so much you were ignored, as Sigil used a mind altering DRAGON SHOUT which heavily affects Omi / Fagnus, in polar opposite ways.
Then Fagnus just didn't post which is his usual go-to strategy. lolol

Sigil Warden I see you went to the Darth school of argumentative thought. "My point." > Direct quote from accepted thought on the subject, disproving point. "That wasn't my point." Alrighty then. Stay salty. Not my fault you can't read or you decide to make inferences and they happen to be wrong, as opposed to relying strictly on what's presented in the post. Here's a more accurate breakdown of that particular instance: "Point X." "That doesn't happen with Y!" "I wasn't talking about Y, I was talking about X." "CLEARLY I KNOW YOUR OWN STATEMENT BETTER THAN YOU SO I'M TELLING YOU THAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT Y BECAUSE IT SUITS ME." Yeah, still not my fault you can't read worth ******** fact that you're still salty about something that is basically nothing more than a misstep of an inference on your part is hilarious, because it wasn't really that big of a deal. People do it all the time - but for some reason you get vehemently defensive over it. Even more hilarious because I quoted verbatim in my post where I was making my point and what it pertained to, and then, with absolutely zero evidence, your response was basically "NUH-UH."

Harmony negates all sound...
All of it...
eek
But, I believe that the situation was a bit of a ******** to begin with...if I recall...Wasn't there some side drama going on at the time?
