Hartley crushed a punch cup. Len nodded at him.
"I know. I can't believe those losers made it in."
"Oh, that's not what I-" Hartley had actually been ticked that it seemed Piotr hadn't come to the dance. But he noticed now what Len meant as he saw Powell and Cassie step inside the dance.
"Ah, I see. Well."
All five of the Rogue Boys looked at each other.
"The more, the merrier, right?" Hartley stood up and headed over to the stage. He grabbed the microphone.
"Hey, can I have everyone's attention, please? I have something to say."

Hartley looks up at the "DONATED BY OSGOOD RATHAWAY" plaque above the door of the gym.
"Thomas Peterson, and I just wanted to dedicate a song to some special people in the crowd."
Hartley nodded at Paco Ramone, who was doing DJ duties at the dance, and some nice dance music started up. Hartley reached into his suit coat and pulled out his piccolo.
"Ms. Watson, Ms. Walker, Ms. Quinzel, Ms. Park, thank you for chaperoning here tonight. This song is for you."

Hartley plays along with the music as some kids clap in time and some students go out on the dance floor. The chaperons laugh and dance along.
Len slips away from the crowd as James, Evan and Digger head out onto the dance floor with their dates.

Cassie feels that perhaps the flute was what Aphrodite warned about...Cassie rips a napkin in half and then makes little paper balls with them and shoves them in her ears. Then she makes two more makeshift ear plugs and looks at Chris..
"Trust me"
She shoves the paperballs in Chris's ears..
