And he was not. Edmond only needed to travel down the hallway and make a left. It wouldn't be hard to find the exit down the last hallway. He'd end up in the alley as he had come through before.

Emily, on the other hand, had a much more tedious route to take to exit the building. She had by sheer luck just been packing up her equipment and was about to sneak back out the door when Natalia and Vandal Savage finally decided to leave the room. Emily had just enough time to check her spy bugs outside, and find the two heading towards the office. While her suit currently wasn't built for the stealth her previous suit was... this one still had the invisibility feature. All she had to do was try and wrap her body around what equipment wasn't covered in her invisibility skin, and move as slowly and as quietly as possible.

She had planned on ducking out the moment the two opened the door and walked inside. But... with all the foreplay that was STILL going on between the two... they didn't leave much room to fit around them as they moved through the door. Leaving Emily stuck inside unless she wanted to alert them by having the door open by itself.

She had waited a while... passed off a quick text to Edmond, and was waiting again. Finally the door opened... and again it was opened only enough to allow those entering the room to pass through. Leaving her stuck inside the room yet again.

Edmond continued down the hallway and made the left before finding himself once again in the alleyway he had entered through. A wild sense of relief rushed over him as he took the steps out of the building and away from it. Edmond turned and looked at the iceberge lounge again as he backed away. He had not idea Emily was stuck inside the room. His phone didn't buzz this time to tell him that he had received a message and so when he took it out he did not see any alert saying he had received a text.
Edmond pulled up a map app and found the hardware store Cobblepot had told him about. "Well... that's not too far... better to get it now." Edmond mumbled to himself as he walked away from the lounge back into the city. If it came to Emily needing his help she cold easily message him. Now that he was out it would be easier to come back as the Count, and as the Count, he had less rules to worry about.

Maxwell pulled up to the building parked the truck directly infront of the front door. He Looked at The two men at the door and stated, "I'm here for my appointment With Mr. Cobblepot. I have a proposition for him. Please let him know that I'm here and will require his presence as soon as he is able to spare it."

The two guards glanced at each other, then looked back at the new guest. "Yeah, alright. Just gimme a minute to let 'em know." the man on the left replied. He then turned and moved towards the door he was guarding, and vanished inside the door. The guard on the right kept to his post and watched the new man carefully.

[enter Vandal Savage and Natalia Ravengraves from inactivity limbo]

Vandal Savage and Natalia stood in front of Cobblepot's office door, preparing to enter. They both looked much neater than they had a mere hour before, after their... fun. Savage straightened his shirt out surreptitiously, knowing that his next request of the Penguin would not come as welcome as his last.

"Ready, Miss Ravengraves?" Vandal asked Natalia?

Natalia took a minute to straighten out her hair before she responded. While her boss likely knew what sort of entertainment she had given Vandal... it would be better that she did not *look* like she had been giving that sort of entertainment.

"I suppose so... It vould be best not to draw this out..." she replied quietly.

"Agreed," the immortal said, echoing her quiet tone. He softly cleared his throat, and said to Natalia, "I supposed it would be deemed more appropriate if you opened the door." His comment might be construed as needless chatter, but he was simply considering every possible way this could be made smoother. He was already going to perturb the Penguin enough as it was.

Natalia muttered something under her breath with a light sigh. She clearly wasn't looking forward to this either. Still... she straightened herself out, took a deep breath, and moved to open the door.

======================

Cobblepot was just sitting down to his desk chair. His finger on a small buzzer on the end of his desk. Someone had just given him a message... likely someone waiting to meet with him downstairs. He looked up as Natalia entered the room, and his eyes moved past her. He smiled a bit when he noted that it was Savage. "Ah, good. You're back." he said. "I hope she was able to keep you company..." he said before turning his attention to Natalia. His smile vanished. "It seems as though Miss Dew had a bit of an accident while she was dropping off the files Mister Savage had asked for..."

In the corner of the room, Emily was still waiting for the door to be free to slip through. Her stealth armor mad her virtually invisible as long as she moved slowly and quietly. Had to allow the camo technology to mimic the colors around her. Otherwise... she'd be an odd shape moving towards the door.

When she noted who was coming through the door, she hissed quietly under her breath. Great... she'd be stuck here for a while now. She might not be meeting with the Count until everyone left...

A slight movement caught the immortal's eye as he entered, but he made no mention of it; it was probably nothing. Upon hearing the news about Miss Dew, Vandal nodded, as though the news was not quite a surprise to him, but gave no hint that he knew HOW she had gotten the injuries. "Yes, I saw that when she delivered them. She wanted to continue working, but I insisted she should get medical attention as soon as possible. I assume she only assented because I am technically your guest." There, now Emily absence could be blamed on himself, without bring too much attention; he still wanted her in the Penguin's good graces.

A smile came across his face as he moved to change the subject, "And as your guest, I must say that you make a particularly splendid host, Mr. Cobblepot, as well as a good businessman."

Cobblepot calmed down a bit when Vandal explained that the incident happened before she came to deliver the papers to him. That made it unlikely that Natalia was responsible for Emily's back. He wasn't sure how it happened... but he would find out later. Right now, he had these two to contend with. Emily would clear things up for him when she came back into work. She was good about telling the truth, even if it got others in trouble with him.

He smiled at Vandal's compliment. "Well, I appreciate that. I hope that your visit has been well worth it?"

"More than I had reason to expect it to be, Mr. Cobblepot," Vandal said to the Penguin, bowing slightly as he patted the left side of his jacket, the folder of papers that he'd tucked under it making it a little blockier in appearance than it normally would be. He hoped that the flattery might make him a little less aggressive in the coming moments. "I gathered from our previous transactions that you are a man that appreciates the value of a dollar, and that you are willing to invest said money in your girls to make them... better suited to your cause. Am I correct?"

Emily kept as still as she could and watched the group from her corner. Her eyes moved to the spot Vandal patted to and allowed herself a small grin. She didn't get to read what all was in the files that Vandal left sitting out on the floor of the main room... but her spy bot should have recorded enough information to give her at least some clue as to what he was up to. Something she would have to get to later.
... if she ever got out of this blasted room.

"That I am." Cobblepot replied with a little smile.

"You also showed me that, given the right exchange, you could be persuaded to allow them to, how should I say, amicably depart to pursue other ventures, as any intelligent businessman would," Savage continued, noting that his plan was working so far, but that they were far from free and clear. "I'm sure you would agree with this sentiment, yes?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 23, 2014 7:07 pm

Cobblepot's smile slowly dipped down into a more static line. He'd been in business for a very long time...and he could tell when someone was trying to present a new deal. "Yes, I suppose I would." he replied.

Natalia kept to her position on the other side of the desk, carefully watching Cobblepot's reaction so she could better judge how she should respond. Should she need to.

Emily, meanwhile, was growing more interested in spying on the conversation than she was trying to sneak back out of the room. At least she heard how Vandal explained her back, so it wouldn't seem like she was lying to Penguin when she came back in tomorrow. Even if he did catch the lie, her level of honesty throughout her employ here should cover for her. Play it off as a "I'm sorry sir... but the customer comes first. I did not want to get HIM in trouble by you... "

In his mind, Savage cursed a little. He saw the smile fade slightly, and knew that the Penguin had started to catch on. He also was pretty sure that Cobblepot knew that Savage would have realized this; malformed troll of a human or not, Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot was still a capable, canny businessman. If that were not the case, he would not have survived in Gotham City in his chosen professions. Still, Vandal knew that he had no choice but to continue.

"I have come to the conclusion," the immortal started, "That it might be mutually beneficial to all parties involved for another such situation to occur."
