*Are you allright?* she asked quietly, settling down next to him. *Something you need to discuss?*
He worried her. She knew by now he hated the feeling of being protected, and yet he was not able at this time to guard himself. Nor was that his place to, but her purpose.

Cinderfae Kataio F Zahar's eyes were dark with tears. 'Do you know how many masks have been broken? D-do you k-know how many of us ha-have died because of me?' Her voice was strained as she backed into the tree Zahar had previously been leaning on. ((Santa Kitty, you should come up by Kasai and Zahar. Kasai would love a distraction. xd )) ((k that works too)) the other strange masked figure kept walking. he paid it no heed and plopped to the ground. titan came swooping in and landed on his leg an began singing a little melody. he always drew strength from this little bird. titan moved to his shoulder and remained silent. its one eye focused on his. he stood and hobbled on. so there were more mask wearers here. how strange this place was. he walked for another hour. his steps slightly stonger. titan never left him. his wounds still trickled blood and he was caked in the dried stuff, both his and the tiger beasts. he stumbled forward praying another one might sneak up and end his missery. he shuffled through a set of bushes. they shook loudly and he cursed his stupidness for making such a large noise. mind you it might attract the beasts to end his life. he would not go down without a fight. the brush ahead was thick and he pushed through, head down, eyes closed as the branches brushed his many wounds causeing him to wince. he tripped over an unseen root plunging through the bush and into a small clear area. he hit his head on a small rock and a new wound was opened, blood trickled into his eye, and he lifted his torso up off the ground. his one good eye taking in the situation. his vision was blurred but he saw a log in front of him an further from that, also in front of him were two figures. one he recognized as the masked girl that the big guy was carrying back from the lake. but the boy that was with him was different. how could he have been so foolish. he was so out of it he didn't even hear them talking. they were looking back at the log or him, one of the two when he'd fallen. he pushed quickly to his feet and swooned a bit stumbling into a near by tree and grunting in pain and the gashes on his side and leg hit its rough bark. he stood ercect and pushed off the tree but kept his blood covered bladed lowered, its tip on the ground. one hand went absently to one of the katars he still had sheathed at his side. what hope would he have even if they were weak. nothing. two children could kill him most likely at this point in time. so he stood trying to look as if this was an everyday occurrance in as non-threatening a way as possible considering he had his katana drawn and was covered from head to foot in dried and wet blood. his lizard like tail whipped back and forth in irritation. he didnt like to appear so weak, esspecially when faced with new people who could be friend or foe. either way, it was thier move as he felt to weak to move at all. his little yellow bird titan swooped in to land on his shoulder singing merrily. so he stood proud and tall (as tall as a short guy gets anyway) and waited, his right eye closed as blood ran from the cut on his forehead over his eye....

'I'm alright,' he nodded and leaned back, using his arms to support him.
'It's just...' he sighed, 'I've forgotten something.'
Nika turned his head to look at her. He wasn't sure what to tell her, because he didn't know what he had forgot.

Shi nodded. They had all lost so much. But...perhaps they had gained things of equal value. There had to be a balance somewhere in all this...a reason.
Didn't there?
*Perhaps...* she answered, *There is a reason those things are hidden. I know I was intent on this course...but perhaps that is foolishness...*

Zahar looked towrads the log that Kasai motioned to. She saw a flicker of movement and quickly looked to Kasai. 'I think here is something out there.' Happy to have something distract her from their past. Her breath caught as she moved forward closer to Kasai. They weren't close enough to the figure in the trees to see him fully. Zahar flickered her light radius up to see if that would help. 'I do not think it is going to try and hurt us. Should we investigate?' Zahar continued to watch the trees for a moment longer before looking into Kasai's red eyes.

Io crossed into the clearing, heading for the house where Ice was supposed to be. If she wasn't there... well... she would just have to wait there for her to get there. She sighed, shoving her hair out of her face and forcing herself to concentrate on where she was.
So much had happened in the last day or so that she didn't really know what to do. Sei was missing, her mask was gone, her father had a new girlfriend and looked as young as she did and her sister...
She looked down at her hand, focusing so a small swirl of black came from her fingers. It twirled, taking form as a small dancer on her palm. Her childhood friend. Then she closed her hand, making it disappear.

Kasai nods toward Zahar, I think we should check it out, can you give us a bit of light so we can see? Kasai stands, making sure that he can get to the pistol easily and then steps aside for Zahar to stand as well. Be careful though, you never know it could be a rade. Moving forward he starts out of the little clearing moving toward the noise. Kasai too was glad to have a distraction, he still didn't know what to think about the new news that he had.

Zahar only had to take a few steps after Kasai to bring the figure into her light. 'Oh my... Kasai he is hurt. Well, I do believe it is a he. What should we do?' She held up her hands in the universal I mean you no harm position. Zahar's eyes filled with worry, as she saw how crusted and caked on his woulds were. 'Do you think the rades did this? Either way we need to get him back to home base.' She kept moving closer slowly just in case he was easy to start.

he stood there and watched as alight flared up frome seemingly no where and sa his eyes adjusted he saw the two figures before him. thier masks were beautiful and haunting all at once. the males eyes showed mixed feelings of caution and confusion, where the girls showed many things the most overwhelming of which seemed to be concern. she was moving toward him in with hands out showing she ment no harm. of course she had no weapons, she was some kind of a magical bieng or he was. he wasnt quite sure which had casued the light. he didnt know if he should trust these beings. but he may as well take that chance. with all his strength he slid his blade back into its sheath on his back and took a shaky step forward arms extended like hers. midway into his second step his knee buckled and he fell to the ground chokeing in pain, for a second his body shook and twitched but he pushed himself back up to his feet and stood resolutely though a bit shaky. how were they to communicate when they had no mouthes. this could be interesting. or they would kill him.

The first thing 'Sai thought when he saw the figure was that it was a mutated Draconian, then he realized it's skin wasn't right to be that of a draconian. Whatever it is, it does look hurt. Kasai's caution had lessened greatly now that the thing had put it's sword away. Kasai followed Zahar's gesture that he wouldn't hurt it, he wasn't sure if the creature could still see him. It fell down but he didn't know if it had fully lost conciousness yet. Zahar, I am going to pick him up and carry him back to the camp. Problem is I have become rather lost in this forest; so I am going to have to take a risk so we can get back quickly. Kasai reached with his mind until he 'felt' his chosen. Cin, we are lost in the forest.
Cin jerked a little bit in her seat she had been relaxing half asleep in her chair with her hands around her mug when Kasai had spoken to her. Many things ran through her mind...but the most important was that Kasai was not panicking. So now we know you were not cut out to be a forester, do you need a search party sent out?
Kasai smiled slightly and shook his head, even with the importance of getting the hurt creature back to homebase, he was still glad to have his chosen on good terms with him. Kasai quickly snapped back to the problem at hand, no search parties they wouldn't be quick enough.
Is someone hurt or are you being attacked? Cin stood up at the table ready to act as soon as she knew more.
None of the masques or settlers are wounded, but an outsider is...some sort of lizard. Kinda reminds me of a draconian, but he is too small to be one and no wings. Kasai kneeled on the ground and started to lift the passed out creature. Now we need to get him back to camp quickly. So I need a way to find the camp and follow that direction. I need you to build a huge bonfire. Even if I can't see the flame, I will know where to go.
Alright I will have that done soon. Cin looks up at the two women in the kitchen, "girls I think it is marshmellow roasting time. The kids need us to build a bonfire. Come on and help me get it up and I will fill you in." Cin stands and grabs some accelerant from a closet and heads for the door.

'It may be,' he sighed, 'But we're going to need our home back sooner or later. Perhaps we ought to prepare better? Get ready? We could get the others to train. I'm sure they'd be happy to help get our home back.'
He smirked and playfully nudged her with his elbow, 'I still need to take those lessons. That is, if you're still willing to teach me?'

Her eyes crinkled with the jest. *More than I can teach you in a night, although I could show you a few tricks before then. Some basic defensive moves. Have you trained at all? Or even remember anything of training? I hadn't, until I ran into Sei...*

one of the masked figures approached and it jolted him back to reality and he held out his hand to stay him from any more motion. he knelt now and was breathing heavily and unclipped the clasp on his chest that held his sword sheath to his back. it clattered to the ground makeing a noise that seemed to be so loud simply due tot he uncomfortable silence in the clearing. he leaned down and grasped it useing it to help hi back to an standing posision. he would use it as a walking stick as he had so often before. they seemed to be getting ready to leave or the male may have been he wasnt sure. he would see where if they beconed him to fallow. if so, he would go, they seemed to want to help him. but he couldnt appear so weak before these new beings. he stood indicating the blade would be used as his walking stick by thumping the but of the sheath on the ground and then exagerating a leaning motion while taking a step with it. he straitened and waited to see if they wished him to fallow them.

Zahar stopped Kasai from lifting the creature. 'I think he wants to walk.' She said as she watched the smaller man stand slowly and use his sword sheath as a walking stick.
'Kataio, help Cinder build a fire. Kasai and I need to get back and the fire will pull to him.' Zahar said calmly as she smiled with her eyes towards the injured being.
'Alright, we will get right on that.' Kata stood and looked up from her mug of tea to Cinder. "Marshmellows and a fire sound really great. So Kasai must have talked to you before Zahar got to me. Know what's going on? She didn't say to me." Kataio stretched and looked towards the door.
Zahar nodded toward the creature and waved him on. She hoped that he would follow and be all right to continue on. 'Kasai... If you would like to talk more after this we will. Please do not tell anyone yet. I do not know who knows, and I am not sure that I want to tell everyone yet.' Zahar smiled sadly at him and then shrugged. 'Now we wait?'

Cin gathers some brush over logs that were luckily close to the fire pit, "Kasai left with Gali but got seperated somehow, he found Zahar, and then Zahar and Kasai found some sort of Lizard creature in the forest. The creature is hurt and doesn't appear to mean us harm. Anyways they believe it needs immediate medical attention." Cin pours some excellerant on the fire and then motions for Kata to stand back, grabbing a box out of her belt pouch she strikes a match and starts the fire up.
The excellerant did it's work and soon their were flames jumping into the air. Cin grinned, "Now we just need to keep it fed until they get out of the forest, in the meantime...did you bring those marshmellows?"
Kasai nodded to the lizard man and held his hands up to show that he wouldn't touch him if he didn't want him to. Then he stands straight up and lets his mind listen to the night, Cin hadn't ever stopped him from playing with his element, even though it was one of the more destructive ones. Kasai wondered if this was why it was so easy for him to pick up on fire, after a few moments he felt a huge warmth off to his right. Follow me, I can feel the bonfire. We should be able to find them by following it.
