"Ah well..." Lore murmured thoughtfully, "I've lived in one of the Gaian cities, and before that I came from northern forests back there."

Though he had assumed Gion would have thought he came from Gaia, so that might not be what he wanted to know.

"What would you like to know?"

Daemon could see both clearly through Gion's eyes, of course. He no longer ended Gion to describe things after all, which was good. Though if he could he would have been studying Lore, more than Elnara.

Though it was finally good to see the woman whom his daughter had adopted, which in an odd way would make her his granddaughter. The man though, he didn't know elves could have that colour of hair, but he was sure he had heard of it before. Now that he thought about it, the marking on the man's cheek looked familiar.

Gion's thoughts reflected Daemon's automatically, something that had become commonplace to him after having the man in his head for so long.

The mark on your cheek, he signed curiously, what does it mean? Is it the mark of your people? Your nation? Do all of your people have white hair?

Okay, so they were more questions about Lore's people than about himself, but Gion was curious, and Daemon had (perhaps unconsciously) planted the questions in his mind.

From the opposite direction now were approaching three elves: Seeker, Galdor, and a third, a woman who was a head taller than Galdor. She had long, wavy black hair and the same pixie face as Seeker, and she moved with a fluid and natural grace that many people would envy.

Elnara had been taught by Yukito how to sense magical auras, and the moment Nadya had gotten close enough behind her she sensed her presence, almost like a beacon in the dark. She turned excitedly and looked around for her friend, spotting her almost right away.

"Nadya!" she cried, detaching herself from Lore and running towards her childhood friend.

"Ah...."

Lore had been completely caught off guard with those questions, it wasn't want he had expected.

"No... not everyone's hair is white and uhm..."

And Elnara was occupied and he didn't want to make a big deal about it.

"It's just a way of marking people with unusual qualities."

Well technically that was true, and it was a more polite way of putting it.

Gion... I think that was a question best left unasked.

Daemon replied uneasily, he couldn't remember, well he recalled a lot of things, but not that. He knew the rune, but he couldn't place it, this is what happened after you got rusty after a few years.

Er ... Gion felt his face warming uncomfortably. Oops.

To Lore, he signed, Sorry ...

But he wasn't quite sure how to cover it up now. What else should he be asking?

So ... what exactly is your relation with my sister? he asked instead, hoping that it was a safe topic. She didn't say ...

Which was the confusing bit. Not married, obviously, or else she would have said ... though he was certain she would have mentioned if they were engaged, too. But if she was neither of those, why bring him all the way out here? That was something normally left for family members, or those who would soon become family.

Nadya hugged Elnara tightly, smiling widely.

"I knew you would be back," she murmured softly, releasing her friend and examining her closely. "You look well ... better than I foresaw."

She put one hand on each of her children's heads. "You've met my children, they tell me," she smiled. "Galdor and Lothiriel."

"Lothiriel?" Elnara repeated in surprise. "She introduced herself as Seeker ..."

She trailed off in realization. "That's just a nickname, isn't it?" she smiled, then she laughed at the small girl. "Of course. You must be just like your Mama, aren't you?"

She certainly looked like her.

"Congratulations on your marriage," she smiled at Nadya once more. "And it looks as though our wish finally came true."

"It's okay, it's not like it was put somewhere less obtrusive...."

It really wasn't Gion's fault and it did stick out and how often was it that someone got a tattoo on their face of all places?

"As for your other question... I'm, courting her."

It sounded akward to him, but he was, he was courting her, and that was the best way to put it. Granted he had been meaning to get to the ask her to marry him part, it just never seemed to be right time yet.

Daemon chuckled a bit, not at Gion, but at Lore. Since he knew that sound of the voice, he had it once. When Yume took him to meet her parents and dear god he nearly had an ucler from that experience.

It sounds like, he's trying to get up the nerve to ask her for marriage part of courting her.

I sure hope so, Gion replied to Daemon cynically.

Then to Lore he smiled gently and signed, If you don't mind my asking ... what are your intentions with my sister?

He didn't want to sound distrusting or anything, he was just concerned about his sister's well-being.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 9:23 pm

Somehow, he had to see that question coming actually. He supposed under normal circumstances it would be her father, or something like that. Actually he had no clue how it worked here, but he should have expected it, and especially since he was without the children.

The children kind of gave away his intention.

"Marriage, err.." he paused, "I do want to marry her."

As soon as he got up the courage to actually her, which was difficult enough.

Try and not to frighten him.

Daemon wasn't sure, but there was something about Lore that struck him. Probably the tattoo, which he was still trying to filter through his rusty brain. If he had a brain that is.

Mind.. whatever.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 9:38 pm

Gion frowned. I'm not trying to frighten him, I'm trying to make sure my sister's honour isn't at stake, he argued with his friend. I don't know anything about this guy ... not that it means anything, I'm sure he's a wonderful man if Elnara loves him, but still. It's on principle of the point.

Unfortunately, he had made the mistake of frowning for real, not just inside his head, a mistake he hadn't made in a very long time. When he realized it, he changed it into a smile right away.

So how did he continue his interrogation if he made sure not to frighten the man?

So ... he signed awkwardly. Well ...

He cleared his throat, but as always, it was silent.

So how did you meet my sister? he signed finally, figuring that it was a safe question to ask.

Lore wondered if he had said something wrong, or perhaps Gion took it the wrong way? He wasn't so sure, but the man was asking and it was only polite to answer back. Besides he didn't want to case any trouble, and...

Oh dear... he hadn't felt this nervous around another elf since he first met Kakko.

"She works at a cafe that uhm.. Triton owns. I happened to be there one night while she was looking after it, and that is now we intitially met."
