erinnightwalker Shearaha So, hubby and I have mostly decided to move to California. I'm sold on the idea, just not on the execution. His current manager is setting him up with a job out there, but because of California's medical boards I'm likely going to have to re-test for my RVT so I can work out there. Not sure if I'll be able to get a job before I do that or if we'll get out there, I pass the test and then have to start looking for a job sweatdrop We'll also be leaving both of our families behind and my Mother is not going to be happy about it. But I really can't take too many more winters in this climate, and southern California should do wonders for my health. Just really nervous about this sweatdrop Be careful of mudslides and wildfires. And be warned that it gets cold and rainy in California, the water just washes away faster in the south. Oh, and we have border checks for fruit and vegetables so eat your oranges before you get here. Cost of living is high out here, especially in the Bay area and in southern California so don't be too shocked at prices. I have no idea what an RVT is, so I can't help you there ^_^ We're looking at Southern Cali, near LA. Hubby has a job offer at UCLA. RVT is Veterinary Technician, or Veterinary Nurse.

LA is huge and there are place you do not want to get caught in at night. As for the RVT, I'd schedule a retest or whatever it is and start looking for jobs as soon as you know the date you'll be taking it. That way you can either get a foot in the door or know exactly where to go when all your paperwork is in order.

Back in Virginia after my amazingly long road trip to bring my car from Arizona. Wow, without cruise control, it was interesting.

I'll be applying/interviewing at the same time as my husband. The paperwork is what's really scaring me.

The TB results are good for a month, I think.

I know my Rabies is up to date and I've had at least 3 background checks since I started working at my current job (for access to different areas) so no worries on any of that. And I'm taking my LAT (Laboratory Animal Technician) certification test in 2 weeks, so if nothing else I can get work in husbandry while figuring out all the stuff to work as an RVT.

I can never remember where I found what resource. Was it this guild who had a list of Pagan stores?
Looking for hits in Ohio, since I'll be staying in Athens for work, but haven't found my list yet.
Bah, is late now anyway. Should sleep.
If anyone has a clue as to what I'm talking about, drop me a link. If not, I guess I'll just have to keep looking, hehe.

On the other hand, they're much simpler than the average vévé. I'll reserve comment on the aesthetics of the symbols in your link and say they're simply "not my style." =D

I suppose it's not just that these ones are hideously complicated... it's that they're hideous and complicated.
