What it means is something like this, to begin with.
*Tavin points again at the cup and the tea begins to bubble, steam rising from it. He nods to Hajime*
Forgive me for using your tea as an example to my friend. The cup isn't hot to your touch though, is it?

That's right. Its basically the ability to heat things up or cool them down... There are, of course, limitations to such a power, but still, it can come in handy.

There you go. Hot tea is best. You may want to blow on it a bit.
