*nods to Sanzo and Bass* I hate it when kids much younger than me are like "OMG HP is the best thing ever blahlbah you have to like it or else you don't deserve to live Blahblah" And I can tell that its the only book they ever read outside of school work. I look at them, roll my eyes and walk away because they are so ignorant its a waste of my time to talk to them.
I've had it happen at least once. Ooh ever hears of Patricia A. McKillip? she'd got some interesting books.

Honestly, if someone told me that Harry Potter was their only outside of school reading I'd slap them. I actually find it a little satisfying though to tell people I've read Dante's Divine Comedy and Herman Hesse's Siddartha for fun when they think all I read is stuff like Harry Potter. I AM smart... I just don't show it that much.

I've had it happen at least once. Ooh ever hears of Patricia A. McKillip? she'd got some interesting books. I think HP has a good plot and all, but its definitely not the best writing I've ever seen. I read far more than just that. I think I might own a few of her books. Don't know if I've read any of them, though. I lean more towards Deerskin by Robin McKinley, and Windhaven by Lisa Tuttle and George R.R. Martin.

Same with the Keys to The Kingdom (Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday, Sir Thursday, Lady Friday), again by Garth Nix. There's two more books on the way, Superior Saturday and Lord Sunday, 2008 and '09 release respectively.

It comes out on wednesday, so in two days Well, for people around here, we get the "Midnight of Magic" thing on Wednesday, but it doesn't actually open until Friday (the thirteenth. xD). The one friday was what I meant. Cause my birthday's Saturday. The 14th.
