"Nobody can beat Malik. He's blue." She nodded as though that made perfect sense, and in her mind it did. "Except my Daddy. He could probably beat you Malik. But he had blue cheeks and ears, like me and Isle."
"Oh, well that's good." He held up his hands and peered at them for a moment, then rubbed htem together and blew on them lightly. Though he frowned after a minute, "I gotta be patient don't I? I'm tired of being patient..." He crossed his arms and huffed out a breath. Then his irritation was gone a moment later when he blinked.
"Anymore? I guess if she's not ever gonna be ready, then I don't really want her around. I dont' like it when she makes you sad...or mad. Then you get snappy...sometimes even with me.." He went quiet for a moment and then asked softly, "Can she still watch me sometimes though?"
Zahara, blissfully unaware that her future was being decided for, decided to leave the library. She passed Arthur and Isle and shook her head then plopped at the table with the D'Vinns. "Didn't take him long to get over me, did it?" she asked idly before reaching for the last piece of toast on the plate in the center. "How are the D'Vinns and Silvercrest this morning?"

Sevilin shook his head. "Better learn to love to be patient...because there's a lot in life you need to be patient for. And often the rewards are greater when you have patience because no one has to rush." Yes, empart knowledge onto the child.
It was kind of heart breaking to know the child would give up so easily and then want her away from him just like that...but even more saddening was that it was understandable. He was tired of more or less being backstabbed. Though oddly enough the child turned it to being about Sevilin. "Sorry, I don't mean to snap. But sometimes grown ups do irrational things." A tilt of his head at the boy. "I suppose if you want her to..."
Piper blinked, turning a look to Zahara as she came in as well. "Who gets over you fast?" Random topic of the day with her it seemed. Though it was quite surprising to see Zahara lazing about this morning...she was usually off doing something. Hardly an idle woman. "Suppose we're good...planning our days."

He sighed again and nodded, "I knew it. But I can always be patient tomorrow." He sat up in his father's lap and brushed a hand through his hair to fix it before shaking it hard just in case. "Maybe she'll miss me once she's gone. You never know Daddy, she might want to come back..." Yes, he was still hoping, even if it seemed he had given up on her. "But we could just let Malkhai watch Nym for a bit and hten we might not have to make her go away. As long as she promises not to be mean to you of course."
She shrugged. "Arthur. One minute he's calling me 'love' and the next he's off laughing with Isle." Chewing thoughtfully on her toast, she surveyed the group around the table. "Sounds nice. I blocked my whole day out for the bas-" she cut off as she glanced at the two little elves and cleared her throat. "The man and he had to go and pull a stupid stunt like that." Shaking her head and sighing. "Oh well."

"How come Nym has to go away if she stays?" Watching as the boy went about 'fixing' his hair, which Sevilin only took a hand to and smoothed it all down into a sort of organized chaos. Though this was an interesting train of thought he was boarding now wasn't it? Indeed it was.
"Oh." That was all that Piper had to say about that...not something she was about to stupidly get in the middle of. Besides she had learned by now to stop questioning and what not what Zahara chose to do and how things happened after that. "I'm sure you'll find something to do...could always do perhaps backbreaking things here."

He looked at his father like he was silly for a moment and then shook his head. Daddy didn't get the simplest things sometimes did he? "So she doesn't have to share her love, Daddy. She loves Nym but if he goes away then she has all the love she used to give to Nym. Who's she gonna give it to?" The answer that he had in mind to that question was clear in the sparkle in his eyes, even as he still curled up against his father.
"Mmm." Another bite of toast and then she shook her head again. "No matter. I was thinking I might exercise the horses, maybe give them all a good grooming. And then I could always clean out the library. I don't think I ever actually got all my potions stuff out of there. I'm sure I'll find something to occupy myself with."

So she loved Nym, but that meant that she didn't have any love to give to Zykariel? Apparently that was what the boy was getting at. Well...it didn't quite work that way now did it? "Wouldn't that be unfair to Nym and make him sad? I would be sad too if Nym had to go away. And who would sleep with you at night and keep the things out from under your bed?"

"Oh..." Well he hadn't thought of that now had he? "Well it wouldn't have to be forever. Just a few weeks at the most. And Rawr would keep me company or I could just climb in bed with you." He snuggled in closer to his father. "Well...I guess that won't work very well, Daddy will it? I don't wanna make you sad. Or Nym..." He glanced around to make sure Nym hadn't heard him. "Do you think he'll be mad at me Daddy?"

"No I think he would understand. And you know that Nym is a good sharer, he's only greedy when it comes to the round shiny things. Have you gotten your marbles back from him yet?" Beause Nym steadily stole those one by one until the boy had none left...hm, he needed to clean out all of Nym's little hiding spaces. That would certinally keep him busy. "Feeling better then?"

The little boy blinked for a moment and then dug in his pocket. "This is the only one he hasn't gotten." It was a deep red one, about the same color as Sevilin's eyes but as he said it, he lost his grip on it and dropped it. It bounced a few times and then rolled until it came to a stop at the arena wall.
"But if he's anywhere around here, I guess he's gonna get that one too, huh?" He watched the marble for a moment and then grinned. "I think so Daddy. But you always make me feel better." He paused for a minute. "I'll be right back. Gotta get my marble." Thus climbing off his father's lap, he made his way down the arena steps, jumping over a few and skipping some in a frenzied but completely typical for him pace.

Sevilin smiled lightly. "Careful, or you'll lose that one to him too." And as if on command, there went the marble, bouncing out of the boys hold. "Don't go to fast down those stairs or you'll fall and break something...that's the last thing I need right now.
He poked his head out of Sevilin's tunic. Was that a bouncing marble he heard? Well yes it was! Only took him two seconds to slip down and zip down the stairs, even past the boy and be first to tackle that ruby red marble, holding it between nimble paws as he stood on his hind legs.

"I won't." Said of course as he tripped and almost fell. He caught himself just in time and then registered the furry blur that had shot past him. "Nym! No, that's mine..."
He picked up the pace, crawling, running, and climbing down till he reached the bottom and squatted down studying the ferret. "That's my last one Nym, you stole all the others from me." Plopping on his butt wiht a defeated sigh. "And that's my favorite too..." He frowned and rubbed at his eyes, the universal gesture that usually meant tears were soon to come. "Please can I have it back?" Then a glance up at his father. "Daddy! Tell Nym to give my marble back!"

Giving a sigh, Sevilin got himself up and walked down the stairs to the two. "Now now, no fighting over the marble. Nym you have the other nineteen."
Aw, you're gonna cry? Don't cry...there's no reason for that. The little ferret mouthed the marble and dropped down to all fours before setting the marble down too. Then he nosed it to make it roll to the boy, giving him a chitter. I thought you liked that game. Giving another chitter and swishing his tail, twitching his nose at the boy.
Sevilin gave a nod. "You know, I bet if you ask him real nice he'll give you back all the others. Or maybe you could share with him too. Bet he'd play marbles with you even."

"Yeah Nym, I only got twenty." He watched Nym and then grinned as the marble came rolling towards him. Picking it up he threw it up once and then scrambled to catch it, before grinning sheepishly at his father and the ferret.
That was a new and exciting idea now wasn't it? A ferret playing marbles. "Nym's not a normal ferret, is he Daddy?" He set the marble down on the floor and got down on all fours to blow it back towards the ferret then plopped back down to see what Nym would do.

A tilt of his furry little head to the boy as the marble came rolling back. Are we playing a game now? A chitter to the boy before he nosed it back across the floor to him. Chitter. See? I can share. And then raising up on his hind legs, most expectantly.
Sevilin watched as Nym took to the basic idea of playing with the boy. "No, he's not a normal ferret. He's very very smart and clever. See? He can share with you. I bet you could teach him lots of games to play with you and even...share Zahara...with you." Sevilin didn't like to say it,but it seemed that Nym was one of the issues to this whole thing.

"Nym shares his socks when I'm sad." Daddy didn't really get it but that was okay. That's why he was here to explain things to him. "It's not Nym who doesn't know how to share. It's Mother. She only has so much love, Daddy." He shook his head and then wondered how best to say it. "It's like if I had twenty marbles and I put two over to the side for me," moving that one marble in front of him, "and give half to you," plopping the marble in front of his father, "and half to Nym," pushing the marble towards the ferret, "then I don't have enough to play the game no more."
He paused for a second and shrugged, "That's what she did. She gave all her marbles to Nym and now doesn't have any to play with me. See?" He looked down at his hands. "I just want to play with her and it wouldn't take very many marbles to do it either..."
