Shearaha Yanueh Runs With Beetles you know what's delicious?? mrgreen beef tongue blaugh I tried it, but I found its lack of flavor disturbing. I haven't had it in years, but that was my opinion. Flavorless and tough. i thought it was actually pretty flavourful, it's just very subtle. It's earthy and musky. i liked it cuz you don't see flavours like it much in civilized american foods. but then maybe it has to be prepared correctly to really enjoy

I still think it was too tough, though that can also be "fixed" with proper cooking.

And that folks is how you schmooze the VP Admin and Finance into doing your bidding.
*Clicks on her Facebook profile to thank her while saying this aloud*
*Stares at her terribly taken engagement photo* GAH!

maenad nuri This is not a good year for grandparents. My paternal grandfather is not doing well now. At least one of his doctors thinks his heart and kidney is failing, along with a bad infection in his legs. I really hope I don't need to do two funerals this year. =( *offers hugs*

holy crap, the difference between davit not having a paycheck and having a paycheck is amazing. We've just started a goal to pay off our remaining consumer and medical debt. And our savings accounts. Two, one for real savings, one for taxes...

I'm bummed.
I had a concert today, so I arranged for a shift-change so that I could make it and participate, only to show up and be told I needn't have bothered. I'd missed too many rehearsals - also because of work - apparently.
I don't mind being told that, but I thought it was a bit stupid to only tell me so after I got up on stage and was setting up my stuff already. : |

Runs With Beetles that was like seriously jerky. mad what instrument do you play? I play the French Horn. Or, well, any day but today, apparently.. Pffft. And then it was "You should have known better," like we've never played on less practice before. And the next time, when I miss a few rehearsals, I'm to check whether or not I'm allowed to play along. Dude, I'm not that horrible at it and it's seriously not that hard. I've only been playing for thirteen years now.. :[

Whn I joined they knew my work schedule and they knew that I was only going to be able to make about a third of the practice sessions. They let me play in the first few concerts then told me I had been missing too many rehersals. Oh well, they lost their only baritone because of it.

It's weird. I think I just realized my old Protestant church (Church of Christ denomination), had a Catholic ritual in it. A type of Eucharist, or Communion, where they broke off and ate pieces of cracker and had a sip of red grape juice at the end of the service. As a kid, I remember asking my Granny if I could have some, but was firmly told no. I sure was bummed because sitting in church always made me hungry.
