I'm agreeing with her on this one. One, Diddy has a Dixie color scheme, and two, DK needs a villain for their universe... and Mario doesn't count. I doubt Dixie will take the spot over K. Rool. K. Rool has more of a chance to be a boss than a Character.
He would have like.. NO move set.
Dixie is a lot different from Diddy.
She can like.. Glide with her hair, stuff like that. K. Rool could have a pretty decent moveset. He has done more than just throw a crown. He has also had a musket thing that could fire cannonballs, purple mist that reversed the movements of left and right, blue mist that temporarily froze, and red mist that slowed the target's movements. Plus let us not forget King Krusha K. Rool from DK 64. That was a pretty epic boss fight. He could throw boxing gloves around that followed Diddy while he was airborn, and he was not bad at throwing normal punches either. He could also turn invisible. I don't need a K. Rool lecture... I know my DKC info.
Dixie is the best remaining choice. K.Rool is a horrible character, and theoretically the Musket canon from his Kaptain K. Rool and his odd as hell Baron K. Roolenstien attacks couldnt be in the same move set, because tehcnically they are all different personalities of the same villian. The closest thing to a structured base of a move set he has is from his DK64 incarnation, but even then he is still a Joke.
Lanky is by far #2 in the race for another DK spot. I mean unique enough?
(Also Dixie is the only directly playable Kong EVER that has never been under lock down. DK, Diddy, Kiddie, Tiny, Lanky and Chunky have all been either kidnapped by K. Rool or in captivity (Dumbass Kiddie) )
Dixie and Diddy are in no way similar besides being quick monkeys with the Kong moniker.

I think that every character deserves a chance, but I gotta disagree that K. Rool is a horrible character. I think he could make a pretty good brawler. You said yourself his attacks are from different personalities of the same villian. If Link can have his boomerang that he can only use as a kid, and Mario can use fireballs he can only use if he gets a fire flower, then K. Rool can have his musket from another personality. Also I agree that Lanky would be fun to play as. ^B Balloon B grape shooter. >B handstand dash. vB that spinning shockwave attack. Final Smash Trombone. I freaking love the trombone! Anybody who supports Lanky is a friend of mine!

The others are just variating forms, and Link now has the Boomerang so that wone is kind of void. But K. Rool literally loses his mind after the first and second DKC games. He is a generic King, then a Generic Pirate, then a Joke mad scientist. then to a boxer in DK64.
K.Rool is a freaking lunatic with multiple personalities. Not to mention, he is a Lame character, he has no history because he is never an overwhealming story element. K. Rool, as it could be a dead character, and truth be told all of the Kongs besides the Sports appearing ones are essentially in a dying franchise. but then again that could be said about Kirby and they got 3 characters. With the amount of content in Brawl it is actually possible that more than 1 more character from the DK series is in Brawl.
Still, Dixie is the only Kong that is still in the public eye. Being in Mario Baseball. which is a lot more that can be said about any other DK character. Since the DK franchise was moved over to the cube the only good DK specific games that have been good were Remakes of DKC 1-3.
The rest of the games are tacked onto the DK name. Leaving the Kongs only real fitting games are in Mario games, such as Mario baseball, Strikers, Party, Kart and so on. and there are only 3 Kongs in there DK, Diddy and Dixie...

There is more than one Kong in brawl.. There's Diddy and Donkey.
Also, you're excluding Donkey Konga, which is a big hit amongst Game Cubers.
The Kongs definatly aren't going anywhere any time soon.
And aas for Kirby? He had a game come out kind of recently, plus Kirby air ride? Kirby isn't going to die out for a long time either.

Donkey Konga was anything but a hit. But the fact remains that Donkey Kong isn't leaving, even though his latest outings haven't been much to talk about. Jungle Beat was great, though.
