Ruby St.Claire Arch the Angel Ruby St.Claire Ruby flinched, and visibly paled. She leaned backward against the wall of the bus as her knees started to give out. "That can't be true, you're misreadin' it." She argued in a flat voice. Arch shook his head. "Iht saihs theh Dehvihl's Sahlvatiohn wohrks fehr theh Messiah, ahn thaht 'eh wihns." Arch inhaled, letting the breath out slowly. Ruby slid down the wall of the bus, until she sat on the floor. The silky silver dress hiked up to her knees, but she didn't care to straighten it. "So what if he wins, doesn't mean he leaves you dead. I can be there an' pull you away from it. You can just let 'im win an' not fight. You don't have to die." Ruby's eyes were losing focus. "Don't leave me, please." "Dahlihn." Arch moved over, wrapping his arms around her. "Wehl faihnd sohmethihn tah beaht thihs. Ahls seeh ihffhn theih gahwt sohme otheh branchehs fehr thihs. Thihs maihgt nahwt beh theh ohnleh ohne fehr thihs evehnt."

Ruby leaned her head against his shoulder, her curls falling against his neck and chest. She told him both stories in detail including the illusions, the moment she had walked out into the hallway to stop them, her release, and then Chris and his threats, and the attempt to stab her. Ruby last of all mentioned the moth necklace, which Ora had given her, and which she still wore around her neck.
