Maybe...
But it's past midnight here, so I'm sorry if my lack on understanding has annoyed you. I do understand that the decision is up to me whether to take Tau or Eldar. Also that Eldar work best with a multitude of different types of units to play their parts in the army.
Sorry to have dragged you out for so long. sweatdrop
But now I feel it is really time for me to turn in for the night, since I have to leave the house in 6 hours to get to work on time. So goodnight for now and good luck with the quest.

Looking at your list, I completely agree. You're going to be outnumbered by everything but Grey Knights. Hell, they might be able to outnumber you. Eldar -need- numbers, because they're not hyper survivable on their own. With only 33 models, you'll be gunned down pretty quickly by just about anyone with enough weapons.
Also, dedicated CC units will make mincemeat out of this list. The Wraithlords will be able to hold their own, but they'll only last so long before something beasty with a Power weapon gets to 'em. Or, hell, Lascannons. They have a 2+ save, but -never- trust in that.

I was thinking of it as just an army by concept. I would have at least a few squads of Dire Avengers and one or two Striking Scorpians instead, though I will keep at least one Wraithlord. Just curious, what are the major differences between Striking Scorpions and Howling Banshees? They are the same points cost, but Striking Scorpions seem to be better suited.

Striking Scorpions / Banshees Armor: 3+/5+ Fleet: No/Yes Power Weapons:No/Yes
There are the major differences.

So HB are better for killing charas with high armour save, where as SS are better for larger numbers(mandiblasters)? What is your preferred choice of the two?

quick canon question but how do eldar protect against possession and other such dangers from the warp? do they have there own version of a psychic hood or is it a natural immunity?

You're treading close to the line of asking for rules, Aku.
Orion, I think they have upgrades to reroll psyker checks if they fail, and Warlocks don't need to take psyker checks for their powers.

I have the Codex. I was just wondering since I wasn't at work. I'll look it up later. Still curious on which you would rather use.

I find the Scorpions to be a much better option. Higher strength, better save, more attacks.

Just read over them again and saw that they get mandiblasters period. I think I'd use a couple of them for CC. Have them infiltrate and have some jet bikes run forward to cover them.

I would assume that since they are old enough and are extremely proficient in the warp that they just have an affinity for it. Besides that they have Rune wards to protect themselves.

They're much more skilled psykers overall, and refer to even the Emperor as a primitive psyker in comparison to their own. One assumes they would be much, much more familiar with it, and thus be much closer to immune than the less reliable psykers of Humanity.

I've got a quirky look theory, simply looks. I think I might use green-stuff to fill in the indented parts of their face masks to make them have a resemblance to Wraithguard(as you are sure to be aware by now, I like the way they look). I think that would give an interesting feel to an army, making them somewhat specialized in making and harnessing Wraith soldiers, all fluff wise of course. Farseers, warlocks, Harlequins, and Autarchs would be the exceptions. I think it would be interesting with the right colour scheme, something similar to Ulthwe. With them being the oldest race I think it's possible.
